Rooms are great but old and in need of maintenance. Advertised breakfast ended up being bento. Location is okay.
Hotel was great and good value for money but building starting to show signs of lack of investment. Breakfast was nice but for such a large hotel would expect more options espically when full on weekend. Nice being outside of city centre but bus out the front gets you into town centre 15 - 20 minutes. Great staff
Need to update service
It took a while to receive my towel, so I couldn't take a shower till then. Also bathtub was there, but no hot water. Other than that, the view was great, very spacious, and especially the beach bar was awesome at night.
As a hotelier, I always appreciate thoughtful hospitality and well-considered guest experiences. During my recent stay from 3rd to 5th May 2025 in Room 1516, I found the accommodation generally pleasant and comfortable. The keyless entry system was convenient, and although the room had a slightly dated design, it was spacious and well-suited for four guests. A highlight of the stay was the stunning ocean view, best enjoyed during sunrise from the extended balcony that connects the living area, master bedroom, and second bedroom.
The room was well-equipped with three air-conditioning units—one in the living room and one in each bedroom—ensuring a consistently cool and comfortable temperature. The master bedroom featured a queen bed, while the second bedroom came with two single beds, which worked well for a family or small group. An iron and ironing board were also provided, which added to the overall convenience of the stay.
It is worth noting that the booking was arranged through a third party, not directly with the hotel. As such, a security deposit of RM300 per room was required upon check-in. This deposit was collected via bank transfer and was refunded within 1–2 working days after checkout, which was handled efficiently and professionally.
The hotel provides on-site parking, though it is chargeable at an hourly rate, capped at RM20 per day. Guests should also be aware that there is no lift access from the parking area; you’ll need to walk to the lobby to access the elevators. The property offers direct access to the beach, which is a major plus, and there are restaurants located downstairs. One of them featured a live band during our weekend stay, although it’s unclear whether this entertainment is available on weekdays as well.
That said, there were a few areas for improvement. The toilet in the main bathroom auto-flushed every 30 seconds, which could be disruptive at night. The room was quite a distance from the lift, which may be inconvenient for elderly guests. There was only one main switch for the water heaters and one switch for all the living room lights, which limited control. Additionally, the room had only one international plug point, which was slightly loose—bringing an extension plug is highly recommended for groups.
Overall, it was a pleasant and memorable stay, enhanced by the scenic views and convenient beach access. With some adjustments in accessibility and facilities, this accommodation could offer an even better guest experience.
We booked this hotel based on its impressive 8/9 ratings, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The property feels like it has seen better days—worn carpets, stained bedding, mould in the bathroom, and even grout falling from the ceiling. It’s clear that maintenance has been neglected.
The reception staff were quite rude and unhelpful. It seems like some rooms are sublet by a different business, which might explain the lack of connection, but basic courtesy would have gone a long way.
The pool was a highlight, largely empty and well-maintained, but with only three sun loungers for a hotel of this size, relaxing by the pool isn’t really an option. The bar seemed to be making an effort despite the low guest numbers, though the music played quite late and could be heard from lower-floor, sea-facing rooms.
The surrounding area has a good variety of food options, but it felt very quiet—much like the hotel itself, which seemed to have only around 20 guests during our stay. It’s easy to imagine this being a fantastic resort in its prime, but sadly, that time has passed.
We actually considered booking alternative accommodation upon arrival. If you have low expectations, it might be fine, but if you’re expecting the 8/9-rated experience advertised, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.
The rainbow paradise hotel is a beach front property which is a major plus. However, we face two major disappointments! 1. The front reception staff (particularly Yasmin) are quite unfriendly! 2. The room we got on the 12th floor was disgusting. The washrooms are old and sofas are worn out, hallways and elevators are so in need of renovations!!!
We booked a family room with 1 king and 2 twins, 3 beds in total with breakfast but they gave us the wrong room with only 2 beds. When we pointed this out, they said the option for 3 beds DO NOT exist. they have this option, We had to pull out our booking confirmation to show them the details and then they gave us the right room and said this booking doesn’t come with breakfast! We again had to do pull out the confirmation again to prove it. I find the front reception staff are super difficult to deal with and they have no smiles at all. We asked for extra towels because they only gave us one towel each, no smaller size one and they tried to charge us. Most hotels will give you extra towels, one big one small and would gladly give you extra. I have never had such bad experiences with hotels around the world as I did with this one. Google gave this hotel 4 star which is a joke! If you have no standards and you love the beach, then stay in this hotel! On the way to this hotel, even the local taxi driver told us this is NOT a friendly hotel and only caters to Muslims and East Indians and most Chinese tourists wouldn’t stay here. I didn’t think much of the comment but the taxi driver is right! Staff at the front reception are super unfriendly and many Google reviews conclude that front end staff are rude and gives you a hard time for every request! The taxi driver also told us that this area in general is unfriendly! Georgetown is the best option!
The room is fine. However the bidet is kinda loose. The worst is the lift.
They have 3 lift but 1 not working. We wait almost 30 minutes to get the lift. Other have to wait 1 hour. We are from level 10 have to use the stairs to lower level. Which is terrible. Other than that is good.
good
I don’t know how it’s get 4 star, when you came off the elevator at 10th floor no air conditioning working and floor was very bad smells, walking to your room wall has mold and inside the room when you flash the toilet sound like alarm for few minutes, side of bathtub has black mold, unbelievable 4 star hotel ???
Old Style
It’s visibly a very old property which includes private residences, shops & restaurants all in one complex, hence adding up to chaos. Parking is always a challenge. Pros: big rooms with big balconies with sea view, clean beach. Cons: lacks basic amenities like toiletries, no phone to call room service, chaotic breakfast with a very average spread. This is a place best suited for locals to stay. International tourists would do well to avoid

Supplied breakfast was horrible.
Room and staff great.
Very clean and quite
Great evening fire shows and Music at the bar on the sand.
Located right by the beach, this hotel offers a balcony with a breathtaking view of the beach. You can even walk to the beach from behind the hotel and enjoy! You can hear the tides from your room, whose gentle sounds can help you relax and sleep at night. They have a kitchenette that doesn’t seem so practical. The only downside was the lack of warm water when I wanted to take a shower.
Better to hire a car or a motorbike to get around. There were small shops and a convenience store within walking distance.
i have stayed here many times..this time stayed for 4 days..as usual, perfect location, nice beach, spacious room..
but this time, had some issues:-
parking - now since laguna bar opened, parking lots has been limited..lot of outsiders are coming..at one time, came back from dinner but no parking..had to wait nearly 40 mins for someone to leave to park my car..and also, each time have to validate the tng or bank card when going out..if ur in a hurry and forget, u will be charged and cant claim back
pool - 4 days i was staying and no pool towel was provided..even when there were only 3 or 4 of us using the pool but still no towel provided..no life guard was on duty as well..a couple and a child just jumped into the pool with their jeans and sweather..
The facilities and rooms need to be renovated and updated.
Staff needs training, management is not involved in supporting staff. Property looks great but the rooms needs some care.
