Fruta mala. Cafe feo. Poca variedad.
The building and lobby are lovely. The room we booked were no frills but nicely appointed (but small, but then again this is like NYC so that was a given coming in). Lights were mostly from table lamps with cord mounted switches with one overhead light at room entry. The HVAC in the rooms was GREAT and since we are polar bears even in the winter we switched it to AC mode and it cooled the room well (it was set to heat on entry). The only really disappointment was the breakfast buffet. Maybe compared to other hotels in Argentina it was good but as an American with general high expectations for breakfasts, I was very disappointed. The potatoes were not seasoned at all, the scrambled eggs were watery (though you could order custom eggs but good luck getting someone's attention for that). The espresso machine ran out of milk and no one noticed until I specifically pointed it out. The ham was too chewy to eat and the general selection was poor. The pastries were good though. So maybe that lack of hot food variety is just an Argentinian thing?
Great location and confortable rooms.
Not a nice view from room

1/5 – Extremely Disappointing Experience at Buenos Aires Marriott Downtown
My stay at the Buenos Aires Marriott Downtown was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have had in Buenos Aires. Based on the Marriott brand, I expected professional service, high cleanliness standards, and quality dining. Unfortunately, the reality was the opposite.
The biggest issue at this Marriott hotel in Buenos Aires city center was the lack of customer service. Staff members appeared unmotivated, poorly trained, and often unable to answer basic questions. Requests were either ignored or handled without any sense of urgency.
The food quality at the Buenos Aires Marriott Downtown restaurant was also far below expectations. Meals were inconsistent, poorly prepared, and did not reflect the standards normally associated with an international hotel brand.
Cleanliness and hygiene were another major concern. During my stay, several areas appeared inadequately maintained, creating an impression of poor operational standards and insufficient supervision.
What stood out most was the apparent lack of leadership and management presence. The hotel felt disconnected from the guest experience, resulting in low staff engagement and a complete absence of customer focus.
If you are searching for a hotel in downtown Buenos Aires, I would strongly recommend researching alternatives before booking the Buenos Aires Marriott Downtown. There are many hotels in Buenos Aires that offer significantly better service, food quality, cleanliness, and overall value.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend the Buenos Aires Marriott Downtown and would not stay here again.
The views from the pool area of the city.. breathtaking! The room was well appointed. The staff is top notch. The food, delicious!! Loved the location! Able to walk to the Galleria, as well as the pedestrian areas and numerous restaurant's.
Perhaps have tea and coffee available 24/7, without a fee.
I would love to rate this hotel higher because it is in a great location, has a great view from the indoor pool on the top floor, and we were given a two room suite (one room with one single bed and a couch and the other with two single beds) for the three of us which was very nice. The problem is there were two issues:
1. Major issue: On the third and last night that we stayed, there was a terrible smell of smoke in our hallway connecting the two rooms and the smell was in the room with two beds. It was clearly coming from the vent. All they did was spray some perfume and give us a machine (perhaps an air purifier?). I had to sleep on the couch in the room with one bed because I could not take out. It was the same smell of smoke that you would sometimes encounter at the entrance of the hotel with people smoking right out front.
2. Minor issue: They gave one (not full) roll of toilet paper every day. We ran out of toilet paper every day that we were there. Luckily, I bring an extra roll which we used. You would think after the first night when they saw no toilet paper that they would leave two rolls. I am sure they would have brought us an extra roll, but not sure why we need to ask when it was obvious.
