The helpful staff, the cozy bar, the wonderful breakfast, the historical building - an absolute pleasure to spend an anniversary,.
Welcoming staff and early entry was made available for our room. Beautiful view of the harbour from our room. Breakfast was huge and good value. The reading room is large and relaxing. Just a perfect stay.
Of particular note, the staff was extremely helpful when we unexpectedly had a family emergency. I will definitely stay here again and recommend it to all of my friends.

Food was very good!
All
Staff were rude when asking for a jug of water and rats running round the restaurant. Would call it more like a budget hotel. Not worth the money at all. Your get better value for money staying at a holiday inn. We got $100 off for the inconvenience but to be honest the night me and my partner had there they should have given us more. Would not recommend this place at all. This place is not worth the hype
The location was great! Very close to marine and the Assembly building 🩷
The room was clean, but I found the mold in the bathroom uncomfortable. due to the lack of air conditioning we slept with the window open and the cries of seagulls woke us up very early
Great location
No AC
Breakfast options were great
Nothing really
We recently stayed at Union Club of British Columbia, and the location is truly superb. Our suite had magnificent views of Victoria’s Inner Harbour, and the club itself was beautifully decorated for the Christmas season.
The room was cozy and very comfortable, though slightly overcrowded with furniture. One important note for future guests: although our accommodation was listed as a “King Suite,” the bed was actually queen-sized.
Parking vouchers were provided; however, our rental car exceeded the height restriction for the parkade, which required us to park elsewhere and pay full overnight parking rates. This may be something to flag for guests with larger vehicles.
We had breakfast in the dining room on Christmas morning. Unfortunately, we were not informed in advance that service ended at 9:30 a.m. Arriving at 9:15 a.m., we were met with some reluctance, and that tone carried through the service. Our order was taken begrudgingly, and I was told my cappuccino might “take a while” as the server was the only one working.
When our food arrived, both plates — including my eggs Benedict — were cold. Not wanting to cause issues on Christmas Day, we chose not to complain and simply finished our meal.
I appreciate that holiday staffing can be challenging; however, guests should never be made to feel like an inconvenience. Clear communication of holiday dining hours at check-in or in guest rooms would go a long way toward improving the experience.

Charming property!
We especially appreciated the main reading room with all its comfort and amenities. This room is an feature we only see in very old European hotels.
Not much really. Parking maybe but what should one expect? The Union is in a tight urban setting and access to one's car was satisfactory.
Stellar location. Reading room and library are peaceful, unique and well stocked with daily newspapers and magazines. Staff are lovely. Bed was very comfortable.
A little tired and stuffy. Rooms could use some freshening up to the standard of the common spaces. Elevator was out of service, which we had read on the website would be complete at least a month before our arrival. Pull out bed didn’t have a duvet - just sheets and a scratchy beige hotel blanket, not a duvet. It could also probably use a new mattress. Breakfast service in the morning from Raj was delightful, but the food itself was lackluster.
Excellent location close to shops and waterfront.
dress code was a little strange but did not affect our stay
Decent location
This seems to be partly a private club so I’m not sure why they bother to rent rooms to non/members. Not at all accessible: approximately 16 steps from the sidewalk to the front door, the one elevator was being repaired/replaced and had to walk up at least 20 stairs for each floor. The hotel has a 72 hrs cancellation notice which they told me they would have waived but that was after we had checked in and had our luggage delivered to our rooms. The offsite parking was the least of so many other inconveniences. The hotel has a dress code (stricter than described on line) which is strictly enforced by staff and other guests so needless to say we could not use the main floor amenities or dining room. The staff were fine but we never felt welcome here and which I have never experienced at any other hotel.
