Superb, beautiful location. Every staff member I had contact with was truly excellent. Honestly couldn't have asked for a more helpful and friendly bunch of people. I don't know if it is policy, but it seemed that the hotel was supportive of the local community, in terms of giving opportunity to the locals (including youngsters). I am looking forward to my next visit - it was a real treat.
It was all excellent. In my ideal world, I would have had air conditioning throughout the bar areas, to the same high standard as the bedrooms. Honestly though, I have nothing serious to complain about. Btw, I stayed there on a day that was 34C!
We stayed here to be close to a venue for a family wedding.
The facilities were amazing as you would expect on a golf resort.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
They ran a minibus service which saved us getting Ubers.
That toiletries were in squeezy bottles and not accessible as bolted to the walls . I realise this is to stop theft but as someone who has arthritis in my hands very frustrating…
My first visit to The Vale and I couldn’t have been more impressed. The room was incredible in terms of its size, modern decor, huge bed, wonderful bathroom, and effective working air-con at the warmest time of year. The staff are first class and food extremely pleasant and not overpriced. I will not hesitate to stay there again and look forward to when I can.
Incredible once again, course was immaculate, staff were great, hotel very clean and tidy and lovely food.
It was clean and staff were very helpful . Location and settings of hotel outstanding.
Nothing
Clean, welcoming, stunning food and outstanding view from our balcony. Staff were very friendly and we can't wait to return
Lovely room and facilities.
Amazing facilities
Rooms are extremely basic, needs an urgent update. Uncomfortable beds, mattress and pillows.
Very bare rooms and bathroom. Could do with some sprucing up
Nice room, good breakfast, stayed for a golf trip-tough course.Spa looked good but did not use
No fridge in room to keep drinks cool overnight
Not really one for writing review’s but was very impressed with my weekends stay.
Positives
Great room size with lovely bathroom and power shower.
The food was great, golf trips with large groups of blokes is normally small amounts of food for dinner, it was great to have choice and be able to get what you want buffet style.
Same for breakfast so much choice. And good quality.
The staff work really hard you can see this.
Negatives
Service at bar way too slow, needs more staff and a bit more urgency, this was a big talking point with group.
Drinks like most golf resorts too expensive.
Check in was very slow, need a faster better system on group bookings it’s too time consuming and manual.
Thank you.
Attending wedding at Hensol Castle. Shuttle service between was excellent drivers were great characters had an amazing day and night at Hensol. It is truly beautiful inside and out. The Vale rooms were huge and the comfiest bed I think Ive ever slept in! Could do with USB ports but otherwise had everything. Expensive but a very nice treat and attending the wedding of our lovely friends daughter with our great friends was priceless.
Welcoming and clean
To get to the pool you have to walk through a bar and a gym
The setting and surroundings of the hotel and facilities. Free access to swimming pool, gym etc. Checking in online. The room was excellent, breakfast, again lots of choices. The cafe bar nice for meeting friends. The staff were very professional, friendly and helpful in making your stay very relaxing and enjoyable.
Arrived for the 50th schools rugby anniversary dinner. Got to the room, which seemed very pleasant. However tv was constantly flickering and virtually unwatchable - almost like refresh sends were wrong but checked theatre and settings were correct.
Meal was a big letdown. Main meal was meant to be chicken, roasted parsnips, carrots, green beans and potatoes. OK we got the potatoes and chicken but the veg turned out to be a mulch of leek and spinach. It was almost like they had forgotten to cook the veg and hurried some quick cooking veg together.
Breakfast was very nice but 3 of the 4 coffee machines weren’t vending correctly.
For a 4 star hotel that hosts international rugby and football players and also boasts 2 international standard golf courses, the hotel itself is very disappointing and is in dire need of an overhaul as it’s very ‘tired’.
