Excellent choice, family friendly, affordable, and good location.
Pros:

Clean comfortable room and overall facilities, customer service is good, housekeeping is accomodating with towels, and overflow parking is nearby if you have to bring a second vehicle. The continental breakfast is awesome, not just a piece a fruit and coffee. The pool is excellent, and stayed busy. I would definitely stay here again. The entrance to the hotel itself is a little tricky, yes, you have to go through an empty lot to get to it.

Cons:

I have no complaints; the ratings are true when I read all 8's, I knew I wanted to give this place an opportunity. The only suggestion I would make is to have a more visible sign from the main road. It's kinda hidden and you have to truly rely on GPS to navigate you through an empty lot to get to LaQuinta's entrance. It was awkward, but still not bad.
