Fantastic Stay
Pros:

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The location was incredibly convenient with the tram right at the front door. Our balcony was a real highlight — a great spot to relax.
The bar had a lovely setting and was a great place to unwind. The bar staff were clearly run off their feet, so drinks took a bit longer than expected, but I didn’t mind waiting.
Hotel staff throughout the stay were always helpful, well‑presented, and genuinely happy, which made a big difference.

Yes, I would absolutely love to come back.

Pros:

The new renovations since we last stayed are beautiful

Cons:

The restaurant closes at 9.30 and you are being pushed out even on a Saturday night of the Grand Prix

Perfect stay & location for AO
Pros:

I stayed here several nights during my time in Melbourne, including several days at the Australian Open. I booked through Australian Open Travel and received a plate of tennis-themed treats and a hospitality bag with sunscreen, water, hydration sticks, etc for the Open. The rooms were compact but well-appointed, modern, and clean with a spacious bathroom and shower, and a closet outfitted with shelves and a bar with hangers to keep your belongings organized. My room had a large bench for suitcases.

To get to the AO, you needed only to cross the street from the hotel and take the tram, changing once at bustling Flinders Station. It is a bit out of the CBD, but the trams, which run frequently (I never had to wait more than a couple of minutes), take you to the CBD and to some of the cooler neighborhoods north of it within 10 minutes. It's a pretty area with parks and the Botanical Garden nearby.

We included breakfast with our reservation. Breakfast is quite good with eggs and lattes made to order as well as an abundant buffet. There is a restaurant and bar on site. We took advantage of the bar for post-tennis nightcaps. I wish there were a true bar with seats and TVs, though, so we could catch up on the AO action at night over a cocktail or two. There is a seating area with chairs and a couch for drinks, which is a little formal and not ideal if you're there solo.
