Location was nice. I felt safe. Very clean.
This would have been a 100%, but it was only 99% due to the fact that the shower was not hot. It was lukewarm at best. Such a big disappointment, people like to have hot showers. The shower was nowhere near hot. That would be the only reason why I would not rent a room again, but everything else was amazing. Please get the hot water working in your showers. You would hit it out the park if you did that.
Staff is very good and breakfast during week was better than the one on weekend
There is no hot water for the three days out of four days we stayed there. Promblem with the hot water tank made our trip bad.
Location was good.
The breakfast was awful, floaties in the beverages for the mornings. The room was terribly updated. The AC unit kept turning on without prompt (even in the middle of the night). The phone in the room didn’t work. The shower sliding door would not stay closed. There was no cover of the light fixture. The room was not cleaned properly.
The second room we were moved to had bathtubs but no drain stops.
Stayed 2 nights. The first night we only had hot water for 20 minutes and the second day no hot water When asked for compensation I was told to reach out to Booking.com.
Antonio
Very displeased with this hotel. Breakfast wasn’t good very chewy and cold. Hot doest work bar is not even open. Bathrooms were still dirty as well as the pool area smells bad and water is very dirty and stinky and algae lile the kids were crying .
Nice location and staff was wonderful
Very disappointed bar and restaurant not opened yet.
Was told last visit a few months ago both would be open.
The location and the breakfast is good.
The cleanliness was non existent, outdated or broken items in the room, hot tub broken, and pool cold and lacking towels.
AVOID THE HYATT HOUSE SCHAUMBERG!
It feels like this property needs to be rescued. We booked three rooms for a two night stay in late March.
The TV in one of the three rooms did not work. No source input and the hotel tried, but was unable to fix it until the 2nd evening of our stay. The hot tub was also broken the first day/night of our stay. Also, none of the phones worked in any of our three rooms and in fact as we learned, in any rooms in the whole hotel. No way to call down to the front desk. Handset didn't work, but we could press speakerphone as a workaround for no working handset, but pressing 0 did nothing. Also none of the preset buttons worked. When I asked the front desk person in person, they acknowledged that none of the phones were working and they believe they were going to be replaced the following month (on April). This seems like a significant safety issue to just acknowledge no working phones for weeks.
The breakfast has an omelet station, which is a nice touch, but the cook avoided standing at the station and caused people to think the cook was not there (maybe on break?). Worse, once we figured out who to ask to make an omelet my friend, who is a larger person, was fat-shamed and told she could not have "another omelet".
There were also apparently issues with the plumbing as two of our rooms had to have maintenance come fix their toilets and on the morning of checkout one overflowed (nothing in the toilet) and without phones to be able to call down to the front resulted in overflow for an extended amount of time into the hotel room and kitchen area.
I reported our initial concerns the first night shortly after check-in by responding to the proactive automated Hyatt text message I received. After the initial response there were no further responses from the Hyatt text.
I physically went down to the front desk to ask if there was a trick to being able to use the phones and that is when I learned none of them worked and it was a known problem. I sent feedback through the Hyatt app and the hotel manager called me and made an effort to addressed my concerns. He had someone else finally fix the TV and said he would credit us Hyatt points for our inconvenience. We never received those points. I asked again about the points and when I should expect to see them on the day we checked out and the manager said they would be applied once we checked out. A few days later, still no points. I called the property and spoke to the front desk person (who was very nice, but was brand new). She said she would take a message about my concern and provide it to the manager and that he would call me back when he got in that morning. I never received a call back and I still have not received any of the points he promised.
This property is in a great location, but it needs some rehabilitation. There are many other hotels right in this area that I would try next time I am in Schaumburg, IL. I suggest you avoid this Hyatt House!
