Hesitent to recommend staying there if your looking for something more modern.
Pros:

Great location and very helpful staff.

Cons:

Rooms are very old and the bathroom isn’t what I would call modern. Half tub with a hand shower and little to no curtain to contain the water. Showering was difficult at best.

The Old Charm of the Hotel & location was great. Convenient to shoppin, restaurants, and sites of downtown. Had a balcony room. Staff helped secure taxi for return to airport.

Delightful hotel in the Gothic area of town and very quiet considering the proximity to La Rambla.
Pros:

The room was larger than most and they accommodated our twin bed request. The balcony with chairs was an unexpected bonus! Housekeeping was exceptional.

Hotel reception area very small, typically crowded, and reception person got overwhelmed easily. Tiny elevator, but at least there was one! Nothing fancy, but was ok.

The hotel is exactly as represented in the pictures. Beautiful, quaint, historic. Spacious room, comfortable beds. Staff was very helpful in helping us find local points of interest and arranging for transportation to the airport.

The room was across from another apartment building (5 meters) everyday the people were arguing and a dog barking. We informed reception each day about the problem.Each day they said they could do nothing about it did not offer another room at these times. We finally had been there for three nights and could not take the noise from the building across alley, the doors slamming and the constant noise in the halls. We informed the reception we were leaving , at that time they offered a different room. We had already booked a different hotel since they had not shown any care for our situation early in our stay. They did not offer any reimbursement for 3 nights we had left on our stay. In my travels probably one of the worst hotels I have stayed for a trip. I would not recommend this hotel for enjoyable and relaxing stay in Barcelona.
