This is a lovely, traditional hotel on Main St, just a few blocks from the Shakespeare Theater complex, walking distance to everything. The lobby is enormous and beautiful, lots of comfy sofas and a fireplace. The queen room was "cozy", but pretty romantic and sweet. We were on the top floor, so there was a great view of Ashland and the mountains. Private off-street parking behing the building was very convenient, as was the yummy buffet breakfast in one of their banquet rooms. (Only $5/pp).
Nothing, it was great!
You are immersed in the beauty and charm as soon as you step in! The rooms were comfortable and equally as charming.
I wasn’t there long enough! For travelers passing through perhaps access to coffee and water would be a nice touch.
Middle of town
No problem
Well prepared and delicious! Good choices. Well serviced dining area.
Nothing negative. Would love some fresh salsa.
We had a wonderful stay! The room was beautiful and super clean. The history of the building was very interesting, which they provide a nice little brochure about it at check in. This beautiful hotel is very affordable in the off season.
Pros: room quiet, spacious, excellent furniture, linens and toiletries; incredibly good breakfast buffet that is a bargain for $5; great help offered suggesting great nearby dinner spot; easy parking; friendly service oriented front desk;
Con: Bill creeped up w add on for service/recreation fee.
I would rate this at 4.5.
Love staying with you 2-3 times a year while traveling between Portland-SF Bay Area. Always a great classic experience,
Location forshopping and great food. The room had character and was very clean. Lobby was inviting upon entry and staff was welcoming
Wasn't disappointed at all. It was a great stay
Grand old hotel that was in a great location.
Everything! Location. Larks!
It would have been nice to know ahead of time about the construction right outside our room. It started quite early.
Beautiful lobby
Room was tiny and they charged us an extra $15 facility fee for no reason on top of the already prepaid bill. I had to call and get it refunded and was told it was for, “internet, parking, etc.” this was not listed anywhere. Total nonsense. The room was tiny like a closet and the walls were paper thin. We could hear the people next door talking all night and didn’t sleep well as a result.
We’ve stayed at the Ashland Springs Hotel for years when in town for the Shakespeare Festival. It’s close to the Festival so we can walk over to the plays. We also like Larks and the very accommodating staff.
The hotel rooms really needs to be renovated. The bathrooms, particularly, are so out-of-date. They are very small, the fixtures are old, and the lighting is terrible! The lights are so bright you can barely see in the mirror. I unscrewed one bulb while we were there so I could see clearly in the mirror. The toilet also was functioning poorly. We often had to flush it three times before it completely flushed. We will debate next year before returning.
Everyone on the staff was professional and engaging. The room was wonderful, as was the view. The location was fabulous.
This is really small, but it would be great if you had bottled water for sale at the desk. The water filler machine is nice, but cold bottled water is greatly appreciated when you need to stay hydrated. Thank you.
The breakfast that was supposed to be part of our reservation package was no longer available. Otherwise, the hotel was very clean and convenient to our activities.
Poor breakfast
The buffet never varied and was completely overpriced
However gave a peaceful atmosphere to discuss topics etc
