everything was great. the staff were very kind and accommodating, the location was perfect, the bed was soo comfortable. they left macarons in our room (which they upgraded for free!) for my husband’s birthday. all amazing
nothing
Fabulous
Straightforward to get to/from the train station and the tourist destinations we were aiming for. Great location near a lot of good food. We stayed in one of the newer rooms and it didn’t disappoint. Modern and stylish decor in our room with thoughtful touches such as motion-sensor lamps, well chosen toiletries, and a good size mini fridge that fit our restaurant leftovers. We stayed in larger 4-star hotels on this trip, but this was one of our favorites for the comfort, cleanliness, and personal touches. Everything was very clean. Service was excellent. They took the time to accommodate us nicely as our train arrived ~8 hours before standard check in. Great value. We were on the second floor but it wasn’t noisy at all. Kind staff.
Location and facilities
Room was on the street corner and very noisy all night
Very clean
Easy to find from skytrain
Staff very helpful
Area
Refurbed to a high standard, rooms modern and well equipped, lovely bathroom.
Staff were helpful and advised on local area, its 15 mins to Gastown and Yaletown , plenty of public transport nearby. .Really well situated for all of the main sitights.
My wife and I needed a hotel to stay at in Vancouver and we decided to be near Gastown. Based on reviews and comments by others, this hotel seemed like a good option. It turned out to be a great option. The owners have remodeled this old hotel beautifully. Our room was spacious and modern. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. There is no breakfast included, but there are many restaurants in the neighborhood. I highly recommend this hotel.
My husband and I were on our first trip to Vancouver and wanted a small boutique hotel as that is our preference and the Victorian fit our criteria.
The hotel is ideally situated for exploring Vancouver. It is a few blocks from Gastown, Canada Place, the Seawall, Chinatown and shopping. Transportation is near, we bought day passes and hopped on and off buses and trains as it is a lot cheaper than the tourist buses.
The rooms and bathrooms are very modern and light, rooms have Nespresso machines, and a kettle if you prefer tea, there is a fridge that housekeeping stocked with water, and cream for your coffee. There is a hairdryer and for the girls with curls, there was a diffuser which was a big win for me. Loved the local bodywash, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and body lotion that was provided. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the places to see and where to eat.
The hotel was very clean and modern even though it is an old building. We felt that the hotel is great value for money.
Considering that you are downtown Vancouver we found that it was not nnoisy. When we go back to Vancouver, we will be booking the Victorian again.
The room was spacious and has been refurbished. Beds are very comfortable. There is a Nespresso machine and pods instead of the usual sachets.
The location is very close to Gastown so close to restaurants and bars. But it was a little dodgy for late night walking.
Great location and lots os space in room
The staff were helpful and the premises clean
An hotel with no breakfast/ dining room and no bar. Unusual and not publicised
No usb connections in the room I had
Apart from the room fee taken the evening before, on arrival a further C$200 was asked for in case I broke anything or wanted and of the small snack products they had on offer.
Great property. Clean, comfortable and attentive staff. if this property was located in a better part of town the price would be worth it, perhaps even premium pricing opportunity
Location was less than optimal. Although located near cruise and some tourist areas it is not in the best part of town (at least the surrounding streets were not the best). Didn't necessarily feel unsafe, but we did cross the street and look over our shoulders a couple of times while walking. If location was better it would be a home run property.
A wonderfully cute hotel. The rooms though are huge! The bed comfortable and the front desk staff attentive and helpful.
A bit noisy—from the street and the fridge.
Clean, small rooms but centrally located.
Expensive. Not worth the value.
No restaurant onsite.
