Okay Stay in a Residential Neighborhood
Pros:

We arrived early at this hotel after disembarking from our cruise ship. I did not expect the hotel to have a room available, but I did want to get the process started. I was “checked in” and when I asked if I could be notified when the rooms were ready I was told I would be notified by the Bonvoy app. We left and explored but were never notified that the rooms were ready through the app. Got back to the hotel around 5 pm and when I checked in at the front desk was told that our booked triple room was not available any longer. The agent was friendly, but did not offer many solutions other than waiting longer. Very frustrating when we had “checked in” 7 hours earlier.
We were not offered help with our baggage, instead the concierge rolled out the bags and handed them to us while I was at the front desk.
The air conditioning in one of our two rooms ran constantly and it never got below 23 degrees (Celsius) and the rooms were small. We did appreciate the selection of complimentary drinks in the mini fridge, but our room was not serviced while we were there.
We did like the location. It is in a quiet, residential neighborhood, but walking distance to tourist destinations (Spanish steps, Vatican City). There is food nearby although options are more limited than in the touristy neighborhoods.
The breakfast was plentiful and the staff there were amazing. Friendly and helpful.
Overall it was an okay stay but we didn’t leave completely satisfied and probably would only recommend this hotel with some warnings about service.

Le Meridien Visconti Rome
Pros:

Newly renovated hotel close to many attractions of Rome . Nestled in a quiet area with many restaurants around the hotel . Rooms are newly renovated and comfortable. AC works perfect even in this hot weather. Breakfast spread is elaborate and good. Hotel restaurant food is good. Front desk and concierge services are very good.

Convenient option for a Rome visit
Pros:

The Le Méridien is set in a quieter neighborhood, but it remains accessible to all that Rome offers. It's a short walk across the river to the Piazza del Popolo, or through Piazza Cavour to Castel Sant'Angelo.

The rooms are clean but a bit tired. As a Bonvoy Ambassador elite member, we had a suite on the top floor with a terrace that overlooked the neighborhood.

Staff were friendly, especially the servers at breakfast. The breakfast buffet has a good variety to last a few days. The top-floor rooftop lounge also offers a nice place to sit outdoors in the evening.

There are certainly more luxury options in Rome, but the Le Méridien stands out ahead of other Bonvoy Premium tier hotels like the Westin and Marriott for service and accommodations.

Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Hotel
Pros:

Don't bother, unless you have to stay here
Pros:

I really wanted to like this hotel. The location in a cool neighborhood is excellent, and the rooftop bar is genuinely great—I’d happily return just for that. Unfortunately, almost everything else about the property is obnoxious and off-putting.
The staff attitude, especially at the front desk, is shockingly arrogant. As a Bonvoy Ambassador (their highest tier), I was met with open contempt during both stays this year. On one occasion, the front desk staff member actually said something to the effect of: “We’ve been here for over 100 years before becoming part of this group. Now we have to deal with this.” It was an astonishing display of resentment toward loyal Marriott guests. The disdain for Ambassador members felt personal and bizarre.
Service throughout the hotel (lobby, outdoor seating, etc.) is consistently inattentive and borderline rude—they often act like you’re inconveniencing them by being there. The rooms are surprisingly small, even by standards of U.S.-branded hotels, and the included breakfast is poor—noticeably worse than what you’d get at a Hampton Inn in Harlingen, Texas.
The real deal-breaker happened on a previous stay: my wife left an $8,000 Van Cleef & Arpels bracelet in the room. Despite multiple follow-ups, the hotel claims they cannot find it. Even the local police in Rome seemed to find the situation amusing rather than concerning.
I stayed here twice in the past year and had planned a third visit, but after the second experience I’ve decided to go elsewhere. There are many better options in Rome. This property feels like it actively resents repeat and loyalty-program guests and would rather run them off than improve. Very disappointing for a Marriott property in such a great location.

Anyone looking for a fine 5* star hotel with excellent location do not look further; stay at the Le Meridien Visconti R
Pros:

LE MERIDIEN VISCONTI ROME a true 5* hotel for our 3 night stay (May 23-26) with fantastic location (walk to Vatican, Trevi fountain, Spanish steps etc) with fabulous all-around-service, rooms and facilities! We occupied a spectacular Suite (Top Suite) with an amazing layout over 2 floors including a stunning & large roof-top terrace with jacuzzi - private fully stocked bar - chill zones etc! The suite also featured a stunning bathroom with oversized tub and separate shower and bidet! The bedroom had a fantastic comfortable bed with crisp linen and the living room had a balcony, private bar, large TV and an adjacent guest WC! FABULOUS!!!

Service was top notch starting with valet parking (thanks to Marco) and delicious buffet breakfast which was highlighted by the friendly service of Stephano the Manager as well as Valentino & Michaela who served us exceptionally well!

A very special thanks to Noemi who handled the “little details” of my reservation from early stage to the time & point to personally checking us in! She was always available to us during our stay and advised us on our outing and other inquiries.

Anyone looking for a fine 5* star hotel with excellent location do not look further; stay at the Le Meridien Visconti Rome!!!

Best Location in Rome!!
Pros:

We stayed at Le Meridien for 5 nights in May 2026. I was a bit concerned with the construction when we arrived, but the warm welcome from the bell staff and front desk quickly quieted any concerns.

Everything was top notch:
- check in: friendly, efficient, informative and flawless
- room: well equipped, comfortable, everything we needed and more, incredibly spacious bathroom
- breakfast: incredible service, quality and a lovely offering on the buffet
- courtyard cafe: again attentive and lovely service, amazing quality and fair prices
- rooftop bar: innovative and delicious cocktails and limited but tasty food options

The location is a perfect balance of quiet, close to attractions and loads of great shops and restaurants in the neighborhood.

I works stay here and recommend this hotel without hesitation. It was truly a perfect stay.

We would definitely choose this hotel if we return to Rome
Pros:

Location is excellent. Easy access to the sites but a relatively quiet areas nevertheless with a few decent restaurants nearby.

Cons:

There was nothing we really didn’t like however the rooftop bar was a bit soulless and the view out of the window was just a city street but we weren’t expecting anything else

Comfortable, quiet and Clean
Pros:

This is a nice hotel in a very good location for sightseeing and dining. The Vatican and other popular sights are about one mile away. There are many excellent restaurants within a short walk as well. The breakfast buffet was very good. The rooftop bar was fair. Overall the stay was very good. We would stay there again.

Worse than a Motel 6...
Pros:

As a Marriott Titanium Elite member as someone who has traveled to Europe multiple times, this was one of the most disappointing Marriott experiences I have had. For the price of the room, I expected a LOT more. The only good thing about the hotel is the location. I placed a request for an upgrade 8 months in advance, since I had them available in my Marriott account. We checked multiple times before our arrival and could not get an answer. We tried checking in around 11 and even then, they were not able to confirm the upgrade, which is ridiculous. They either have the room or they don't, pretty simple. Once we got into the room, that was yet another disappointment as we were told it was a king with a twin. What we actually got was 3 twins. But wait, there is more disappointment to come. Got into the shower and the shower head was leaking and sprayed everything in the bathroom... All the toiletries... Everything! Called the front desk for towels and maintenance. Nothing. 2 hours later, I went to the front desk to inquire again, not sure what happened. It was fixed by the time we got back from dinner. My daughter took a shower and went to use the blow dryer and soon as we turned it on, it caught on fire. For real. We went to the front desk again, they didn't bring us a new hair dryer. Too many problems at this hotel and we expected a higher quality hotel. We won't be back.

1 Star – Marriott Loyalists Should Avoid This Property
Pros:

As a Marriott Titanium Elite member and Lifetime Platinum member, and as someone who has traveled to Europe more than 25 times, this was one of the most disappointing Marriott experiences I have had.

Prior to arrival, the hotel had already honored my upgrade certificates for a deluxe room that accommodated three people. My reservation clearly involved traveling with my wife and child. However, when we arrived and the hotel saw that we were actually a party of three, they refused to honor my corporate discount and effectively doubled the price of the stay.

This felt completely unreasonable and very disappointing, especially given my long-term loyalty to Marriott. Rather than feeling valued as a loyal guest, I felt penalized for traveling with my family despite the room type already being approved before arrival.

If you are a Marriott Bonvoy member who expects loyalty, consistency, and fair treatment, I would strongly recommend avoiding Le Méridien Visconti Rome. This property does not reflect the level of service or loyalty recognition I expect from Marriott.

Treat yourself to an elegant getaway
Pros:

It doesn’t get much better when you can walk to local attractions like Vatican City, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and push through to the Coliseum for this 4 star ⭐️ hotel. An abundance of authentic restaurants, shops and sweet treats close by. They offer a great breakfast buffet and relaxing rooftop lounge for dinners and bites. Check them out, you won’t be disappointed
