The property is beautifully decorated and impeccably clean, with an exceptionally comfortable bed. The facilities are excellent, featuring a stylish and cozy bar area, as well as a dedicated space where you can spend time with your kids playing games. The hotel offers a wide selection of games that you can borrow and enjoy together. In the same area, there’s also a small cinema where you can relax with a drink while watching a movie.
The staff are incredibly welcoming and always ready to assist. The rooms are very comfortable and include a charming little touch—a swing—that brought back wonderful childhood memories. The bathroom amenities are equally impressive, offering a range of organic products from shampoo to body oil, all of which are fantastic.
The property is also very well located, with many landmarks within easy reach—some about a 30-minute walk away and others within an hour. It’s well worth exploring on foot, as Berlin is full of great cafés where you can stop, relax, and enjoy a drink along the way.
I found the breakfast selection to be somewhat overpriced. While I understand that the products are organic, the cost still felt quite high. Additionally, the shower area could be more spacious. During use, you have to be very careful to prevent water from spilling out, as the floor is level throughout—meaning any overflow can quickly lead to flooding. Installing a shower door would definitely help improve this.
Very cute hotel with a lot of fun details such as bath and beauty products and cool decorative accessories.
A number of minor inconveniences including poor lighting in the tiny bathroom, wonky/ nearly inaccessible plugs.
As with the other Guldsmeden hotels, this is a very pleasant establishment offering good value for money. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the breakfast is excellent, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. While it's not located in the most exciting or vibrant part of Berlin — I chose it because it was close to a conference venue — it's well connected to the rest of the city via Potsdamer Platz and Gleisdreieck. It's also less than 40 minutes to the airport by public transport, which is an added bonus.
There are two minor points that I would like to mention. Firstly, I find it odd that one is charged for non-filtered coffee at breakfast. Although the coffee is tasty and reasonably priced, it seems strange to have to pay extra for it, given that the breakfast itself is not exactly cheap. Secondly, this may have been a one-off and I may have just been unlucky, but the towels in my room smelt damp, as though they had not been dried properly. Neither of these issues is major and should not put anyone off staying at this hotel, however.
Bus direkt vor der Tür
Personal, Zimmer, vieles kaputt
