Location
Unbearable heat in bedrooms, possibly the worst nights sleep ever. No aircon, window opened only 6 inches for “health and safety reasons”, the fan just blew hot air round the room. Avoid in the summer.
The weather was extremely hot during our stay so back of air con in the room made it impossible to sleep. The was a fan but that was VERY noisy
Small boutique hotel
Nothing
Friendly staff.
Shower. It didn't work very well. Hard to turn off. Overly complicated.
Our room was lovely, with a view over Berkeley Square, a comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and really nice extra touches, such as the complimentary glass of sherry! Scorching weather meant it was a bit hot in the night and the sash window rattled if we left it open, so we had to close it, but everything else was perfect. Breakfast was continental-style, rather than cooked, but still tasty. The staff were all excellent - so helpful when we wanted to leave our luggage for the day after checkout, allowing us to pop in and out when we needed to pick things up. They were delightful.
Only the rattly sash window! And the heat couldn't be helped - it was just the weather!
The bed was comfortable and the location was great. We were also able to park our car.
It was hot and there was only AC in the corridor. People need to know that there is no AC. They did have fans in the room though but it only helped a bit. The breakfast was also not great and fairly limited.
The room was cosy and well decorated loved the bathroom
There was no bottle opener but there was capped bottles in the mini fridge
Friendly staff. Quiet location close to Park Street and Clifton. Thoughtful details in room, including fans and tea making facilities. Good shower
Hotel in good location
Divan base, bedside table and lights were all for king size bed but mattress was a double.
Great location but no aircon
No aircon and fan didn’t really cut it + room small for the price + lift sags and clunks feels like a death trap
Excellent location for graduation in Bristol. Couldn’t have been better. Comfortable room
Ideal location for purpose of visit
Really hot weather air con in rooms would have been beneficial
Great location! We had 2 rooms, both nice, with nice little touches like a cafetier instead of instant coffee, which I particularly appreciated. The bathrooms were good and clean. The King room had ample space and the bed was huge and quite comfortable.
Staff were lovely and very helpful.
We booked breakfast for 2 mornings but after day 1 we cancelled day 2 as it wasn’t great and not worth £20. Couldn’t even drink the coffee it was sooo strong. Only one member of staff on duty so difficult for her to manage on her own. There were only 3 families eating when we were seated, but other customers were complaining because they were having to hunt for cutlery, condiments and waiting for items that had ran out and not replaced in good time. Graduation was the reason given for having changed to a buffet style breakfast and limited choice, but not sure what that had to so with it…yes the hotel was full but not sure why that would impact the choice/quality??? We should have been told when we booked the breakfast about there not being the full service available.
NO AIRCON made it unbearable sleeping and getting ready. My fault for not checking and assuming a hotel of this quality would have it. OMG the small ‘cosy’ room was stifling. Bizarrely, there was aircon in one of the corridors so maybe this was the start of them installing it throughout the hotel???
Parking - the car park was a short distance from the hotel and very small, maybe 10 spaces, and expensive at £17 a night.
