Pros:

Staff was absolutely amazing! Loved the room and location.

Cons:

Regulating water temp for spa tub was a little difficult. Fireplace control was behind the headboard. Not a big deal, but a note in the room would have been helpful. Otherwise, it was GREAT!

Clean, comfortable but needs some updating
Pros:

This facility grew on me. It has a really interesting history and it was clean and comfortable.

Cons:

I get that it is a historic hotel but I think they have leaned in too much on the granny vibe for decor. Way too much Victorian wallpaper, drapes, furniture. Lots of gold, brown, rust, and red.

We plan to stay there again in the future.
Pros:

I loved the ambience and the location. The staff were also friendly and attentive.

Cons:

Our shower was difficult to turn on and off. We ordered à la carte breakfast which was delicious, but not very hot.

It's Not the Broadmoor
Pros:

We were going to give it 8/10, but, since we were coming from the Broadmoor we feel the comparison unfair, so we gave it 9/10. We especially want to support any person or company who will preserve historic hotels. Staff was pleasant and welcoming. Also, loved all the historic photos and the heated toilet seat.

Cons:

It is always challenging and costly to maintain historic hotels. We noticed some rotten outside rails, a leak of some sort in one hallway, scuffs on many of the wood doors, and noisy heat and vent fans.
