This is the second time we stayed at the Cliff house and it was amazing as usual
The location of the breakfast was beautiful. The service was good, but the food was meh. My wife especially liked the heated toilet seat in our bathroom. The bed was very comfortable, the TV selection was good, and easy to use. Every employee made us feel at home. The entire hotel was very quiet. We ate dinner in the grill and bar; the food was a bit slow getting out, but tasty
During our dinner at the bar and grill, the trivia quiz speakers on the deck were very loud and disrupted our meal. Our room had a beautiful view out the third-floor windows, but they were very dirt-splotched from the winter. When we arrived, we were told we'd have to use the valet service to park the car. I didn't mind, gave the valet a $10 tip, and he also helped us get our bags up the few stairs in the entrance. When checking out, there was an unexpected $20 parking fee.
Everything was amazing from location to amenities to experience to the actual room! They even upgraded our room to a suite for free đź’ť we were celebrating our 8 year anniversary đź’–
Nothing it was amazing
Great location
Bed was little uncomfortable.
Friendly staff, excellent services, delicious food, comfy beds.
Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The charm of the hotel itself is outstanding and the location is great in the historic town of Manitou Springs.
Only issue was the bed was a bit soft. But this is simply personal preference.
What a great historic location. We could fault our recent stay at The cliff House from check in, to wait staff and the grounds. I have read comments about it being tired, I disagree, I didn't get that feeling at all. The place is old but the room was comfortable and large. The bed was great (especially after the incline). The restaurant was great and the bar was equally as good. It was lovely sitting outside besides the fire. Could be anymore closer to town Main Street. Would recommend and stay again. Thank you for a great stay.
Excellent and friendly service, great ambiance, great rooms
all very good
Location was perfect staff was very helpful and friendly.
It was perfect
Our family has loved The Cliff House at Pikes Peak for decades. My grandmother helped save it from demolition in the 1990s, so this hotel has always been deeply meaningful to us. The staff remains warm and professional, and the historic charm is still present — but the condition of the hotel itself is a major disappointment.
The décor screams “late‑90s luxury,” yet the chairs, linens, and robes are visibly worn, starting to look shabby, not chic. During this visit, which was for my grandmother’s funeral, we couldn’t hold our traditional family brunch at the hotel. The buffet is gone, and à la carte breakfast over $20 per entrée made it cost-prohibitive, which was especially upsetting given the family tradition.
The Cliff House has such a rich history and a special place in the community. Until management invests in serious refurbishments, families and travelers should be aware that while the service is excellent, the accommodations no longer match four-star expectations.
Staff was very friendly and helpful
There was nothing wrong
Clean
Dull
I love the historic charm the Cliff House has, the beautiful rooms, the friendly staff, and of course the location!
Nothing!
Staff was friendly . Overworked due to Valentines Day and Mardi Gras celebrations - did their best but clearly dragging
Run down hotel - rotted wood, paint chipping
