Location was good, room had basic kitchenette
First and biggest surprise is $25 per DAY fee to use the stove that is already inside of the room. This should be pointed out in front of every reservation on Booking.com instead of hiding somewhere in hotel's documentation. They would also charge you $25 for dirty dishes, and many other miscellaneous charges for stored luggage, time of check-in/check-out, etc. Speaking to the manager is useless as she repeated the same and made sure to clarify I interrupt her dinner with my call.
Front desk was nice but that doesn't change anything about the hidden fees and careless approach to guests.
Room was old as well, bed uncomfortable.
The room/suite was clean. Which is very important to me.
The hotel was pet friendly, for a $30/night fee.
The hotel is blocks from the ocean, as well as shopping stores.
The fees upon fees. Upon fees...... if you're looking to save yourself a bit of money in our tight economy by dining in rather than out, this hotel does offer kitchens in the rooms. HOWEVER. The fuse panel for the oven/stove is turned off until you pay $25per night ( this is the price listed on the form you sign at the hotel when checking in.... but verbally you will be told that the charge is $30) over and above the rental fee for the room. You must pay this up front prior to the front desk clerk coming to your room and manually unlocking the fuse panel and turning on the breaker. Additionally, even though you pay these fees for your use of the kitchen you thought you were also renting when you booked your stay, the dishes were all locked away and we needed to ask if they even had dishes. Again, the front desk clerk needed to come into our room and manually unlock the cupboard with the dishes inside it. There were no bowls to mix a salad in, so we used the one pot there was available, and I cooked in the only frying pan. It is worth mentioning that there is a sign in the kitchen that states that If it is not left clean there will be an additional charge of $25 applied to your credit card. I took a video to prove that we cleaned the kitchen more than adequately.
There is almost no counterspace in the bathroom and the sink is extremely small. Make sure you put a towel on the floor so that the water that spills onto the floor from washing your face doesn't make you slip on the tiles.
The wall by the tub is sagging from moisture.... probably because the half sheet of glass they used instead of a shower curtain doesn't protect the walls and floor from getting soaked by the shower.
The piece of corrugated plastic that is siliconed in place over the window air conditioner unit is probably just fine in warmer weather, but was quite cold at night beside the bed... even with the heavy drape hanging over it.
The windows are nice... lots of them....
