I would stay at the hotel again without hesitation
Pros:

The hotel is in a wonderful position to explore the attractions of District 1. While the hotel lacks some of the pleasures of a modern 5 star hotel, it has a charm and elegance lacking in a more modern facility

Cons:

The water pressure in the shower was not great.

J’aime beaucoup cet hôtel situé en plein centre-ville , les chambres sont très propres avec des jolies parquets , le personnel très attentionné, le petit déjeuner très varié et très bons .

Séjour d’une seule nuit et nous avons été déçus de ce choix

L’aspect historique, la situation, le patio le breakfast sous les frangipaniers

Cons:

Là salle de bain absolument lamentable , petite , sombre, un miroir sans lumière, des flexibles de douche rouillés , des carrelages vieux et rafistolés. Inimaginables pour un hotel de cette classe.

Historical, well appointed, well located, spacious rooms, fabulous breakfast buffet, lovely staff who were friendly, helpful and approachable.

Cons:

Just one small thing. I always choose to drink green tea at breakfast. No Green Tea bags were available on the self serve tea/coffee station at the Continental Hotel Saigon at breakfast. I was advised that Green Tea was only served to suite guests🤷‍♀️. However, as I had asked for just one green tea bag, I was provided one at the discretion of the floor manager. The following day - and every morning thereafter - I approached the bar and asked politely for one Green Tea bag and was (somewhat reluctantly) provided with one. I’m not sure why a simple Green Tea bag was rationed so carefully. You can buy catering supplies of greet tea bags, so not sure what the problem is.

Colonial experience
Pros:

Dating from 1880, allegedly the oldest hotel in Saigon. Very colonial and traditional….a great experience of local hospitality. Good breakfast, and great location next door to the Opera house, and within walking distance of main attractions such as Post Office, Notre Dame, Market, Presidential Palace and Saigon River, as well as many restaurants.

Was noisy at front at weekend, but not too late.

Rooms were well appointed, and some seem to have been refurbished fairly recently.

Staff very friendly and reception helped us resolve a problem with our phone charging.

We used the airport transfer service which worked great, and also booked a private tour to the tunnels via the hotel which also worked great.
