Pros:

Historical, well appointed, well located, spacious rooms, fabulous breakfast buffet, lovely staff who were friendly, helpful and approachable.

Cons:

Just one small thing. I always choose to drink green tea at breakfast. No Green Tea bags were available on the self serve tea/coffee station at the Continental Hotel Saigon at breakfast. I was advised that Green Tea was only served to suite guests🤷‍♀️. However, as I had asked for just one green tea bag, I was provided one at the discretion of the floor manager. The following day - and every morning thereafter - I approached the bar and asked politely for one Green Tea bag and was (somewhat reluctantly) provided with one. I’m not sure why a simple Green Tea bag was rationed so carefully. You can buy catering supplies of greet tea bags, so not sure what the problem is.

Colonial experience
Pros:

Dating from 1880, allegedly the oldest hotel in Saigon. Very colonial and traditional….a great experience of local hospitality. Good breakfast, and great location next door to the Opera house, and within walking distance of main attractions such as Post Office, Notre Dame, Market, Presidential Palace and Saigon River, as well as many restaurants.

Was noisy at front at weekend, but not too late.

Rooms were well appointed, and some seem to have been refurbished fairly recently.

Staff very friendly and reception helped us resolve a problem with our phone charging.

We used the airport transfer service which worked great, and also booked a private tour to the tunnels via the hotel which also worked great.

Ma salle de bains de la chambre, totalement disfonctionnelle, douche qui fuit, pas de support pour les affaires de toilette.

La situation au cœur de la ville historique. L'architecture coloniale, exceptionnelle, part de l'histoire de cette ville. Un lieu calme au milieu du tournant de la ville.

Cons:

Un.mobilier qui veillit, des salles de bain vielles, des éclairages blafards. Une salle de petit déjeuner, triste, sous une vieille tenture. Un aménagement qui pourrait inclure un joli patio végétal et une piscine. Dommage. Une salle de restaurant pourtant bien située mais dont la déco est triste et semble figée dans l'époque soviétique. Le personnel peu motivé par leurs tâches. Bref un site vieillissant qui nécessite des investissements et un.management privé.

歴史を感じる素晴らしい滞在。
Pros:

外観がクラッシックで素敵でした。
朝食は種類も多く美味しかった。
立地場所がとても便利な位置にあり市内の観光はほぼ徒歩圏内だった。
不便を感じる事もありますがそれ以上に歴史を感じられる素晴らしいホテルです。

Cons:

バスルームの洗面化粧台近くにハンドタオル掛けが無くてとても不便です。
観光の中心地なので夜間遅い時間まで騒音がある。車の音とか。

Pros:

The location is the best after walking around district 1 loaded with bags BAM! there's the hotel. Sitting out front having a coffee or a beer and people watching its amazing and you feel lucky.

Cons:

The hotel is owned by the goverment the employees are government employees who did the minimum. Couldn't get the cable tv to work they didn't care. They were having a banquet wedding in the court yard and blasted I mean blasted music until 2 AM but that was kinda charming the fact that they didn't care or were clueless to the effects on the guests. The buffet at breakfast is both a joke and gross. A major western company needs to come in close it renovate it keep its historical significance but raise the bar. Can't just live on nostalgia.

Amazing experience in the heart of historical Saigon.
Pros:

This is an historical hotel which still keeps its Saigon charm unspoiled, but with all the modern facilities.
Large and beautifully furnished rooms, comfortable beds.
Breakfast is high quality and delicious.
The location is great to be able to discover main Saigon attractions by foot.
We also appreciated the free transfer from the airport.

Great Hotel!
Pros:

I love staying at historic hotels and the Hotel Continental Saigon did not disappoint. The room was extremely spacious, the breakfast had more than one can imagine for breakfast, and our room was serviced to perfection. The room was certainly great value; this was our first visit to Ho Chi Minh City and we will certainly book another stay here when we return.

Fantastic Hotel
Pros:

I knew before coming to Ho Chi Minh City that I wanted to stay here and it did not disappoint. The room was very spacious and clean. Love the French colonial architecture. It's located within walking distance of several sites. Staff is friendly & accommodating. The 'breakfast' (it's way mote than just breakfast) is great.

Excellent location walking distance to many sites

Cons:

Coffee needs great improvement, too watery no taste it's the machine
Too much pork on most dishes served v restrictive for us Muslims
Amenities on room should be for 2 people when booking a double room
Once we requested extra it was done right away
