Friendly staff
Thanks Claudia foe everything
Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was very disappointing.
The staff were not polite or helpful, and the room we were given was incredibly dirty. In my opinion, it felt unhealthy and unacceptable for guests to stay in such conditions.
Another major issue was that our room had no window, which we did not realise when booking. When we raised the issue, we were initially made to feel like we had no choice but to stay in that room. Later, they changed our room for only £5 extra. If it was that easy to offer another room, I do not understand why they were not helpful from the beginning.
Overall, the service, cleanliness, and attitude were far below expectations. I would not recommend this hotel.
Location
Everything
The room was a hot box with no air con or visible air extraction and was stifling.
I tried to sleep but could not.
I checked out around 4am, did not want to wait for breakfast. The carpet in the room was dirty and needed replacing.

Breakfast good. Staff doing their best but with little to work with
Very run down hotel. Windows are tethered almost shut.which makes it impossible to get cool enough to sleep. Paid for 2 nights but left after 1.
1 lady was helpful on the desk, others were not at all. She deserves praise, works her socks off.
Carpets are filthy with holes in, decor is extremely poor, holes in the door panels, skirting filthy and not painted for a long time, bathroom ceiling filthy with stains everywhere, also boards that lift up, some were missing or broken, did not feel safe. Room locks were inadequate. The hotel has clearly not been looked after, painted, or even cleaned properly in a long time. Rooms are not ventilated, felt crammed in with unsafe doors. Just cannot explain how bad the stay was. I did not sleep as my daughter was crying, felt unsafe. Would NEVER stay here - would rather sleep in my car next time.
The receptionist was very nice when we checked in.
The room temperature was over 45 Celsius, having huge glass window facing the sun all day long and impossible to open more than a tiny crack on one side only. I understand this is an old building and they have no aircon, but knowing this they should close down during summer season, because it’s a huge health hazard and very dangerous for everyone. We couldn’t sleep any of the nights, had more than 8 showers per night and had to end up throwing buckets of water on top of the bed to make it barely possible to sleep in. Seriously, the worst heat I have had ever experience before, and I’m from southern Spain!!
The pillows and mattresses were all rock hard and you can feel the springs when lying down. The corridors and carpets are awfully old and tattered. There’s no electrical sockets near the beds, only 4 sockets next to the TV in the whole room.
Nothing
Right from the entrance, there is an overwhelming smell of cigarettes, damp and mould. The carpet throughout the hotel is dirty and full of dog hair! The Hotel will claim, it is due to the carpet being old, however, as you can see in the photo, it is caked of hair and the smell that came from it, was horrible.
There was another guest requesting to open the window as he was suffering from Asthma and was struggling to breathe, and the receptionist was cold, and bad mouthed the customer after he left.
I was assigned a room in the basement, the room was dark, a small window, cobwebs, cigarette burns in the bathtub! I was happy to see a fan, however, it was full of dust collecting for years! The overall hygiene and health standards at this hotel are below par.
As a female, traveling alone, I refused to stay here. When I made the hotel aware of my experience, I was brushed off with excuses.
Location easy walk to the beach, and the swimming pool was great
Reception staff were shockingly rude i’ve never seen anything like it, working in customer service myself i suggest they get some training or a new career
Is all good
Easier to reach
Nothing
Location and bed was comfortable
Noise levels from other guests when walking to their room and could hear them in their rooms.
It was very clean and, although the fabric of the hotel and interiors are very tatty, attempts had been made on a shoestring to make the room more pleasant - newish flat-pack furniture, new telly and remote (often hotel remote controls are grubby with button markings erased) new shower curtain. The staff in the restaurant were good and very efficient.
Well, it was a Britannia Hotel so shabby is what you expect. I was staying with a group so it was not my choice. It is very tatty. Downstairs isn't too bad, although the edges of some of the steps were fixed down with tape, some recommending social distancing, so they've been there since Covid. Upstairs the carpets were worn, stained and every corner you went round was a different very tired carpet. The car park area was rough (my car put itself into 'off road' mode) and no attempt had been made to sweep up autumn leaves (my visit was in June) or make the Beer Garden look less like a waste land. The food was just about okay but being buffet style, if you're not quick you eat food that's been sitting in hot trays for an hour or so.
Staff and restaurant was good
