I love this hotel. I usually travel with other people but I stay at this hotel on my own. The hotel has a lovely calm and chilled feeling about it. I spent the evenings sitting in the bar, they play some pleasant low volume background music which is unobtrusive. On both occasions I’ve stayed now people talk quietly together in the bar even if they are in a larger group, which makes a pleasant change. The rooms ( love the bath and separate shower) and grounds are beautiful, excellent parking and good choice at breakfast.
Nothing!
Sehr schönes traditionelles Haus
The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was good.
The staff were not very good in passing even the basic information.
I advised that I was not going to have breakfast as I had to leave the hotel before breakfast commenced at 0700hrs, but the receptionist did not advise me that I could get room service breakfast from 0600hrs. I only found the order form late in the evening - it was in a drawer and not hooked onto the room door.
The route signage (especially to reception) was poor.
The operation of the lift was not made clear.
The room was tired, but seats were comfortable.
The windows were difficult to operate - as the room was hot and it was hard to get fresh air in.
The bed 'throw' was stained.
There was no bottled water provided with the room.
Tea and coffee facilities were very poor.
The room was comfortable and clean. The decor of the hotel is beautiful. The bathroom was well decorated and clean and the rooms are a good size.
It is advertised as having 7 acres of grounds but these are not walkable, it actually has very limited outdoor space. I was considering a wedding here but for multiple reasons I won't be having it here now. I asked specifically for a quiet room away from other guests due to having chemotherapy at the hospital and needing somewhere peaceful. I was placed next door to people who were noisy, shouting, banging doors. This room is also 2 lifts away from reception rather than being close by. I asked to be moved and was told no other rooms available but the hotel was not full. I asked for some oat milk for my room as I am breastfeeding a baby with a milk allergy. I was told I had to wait until breakfast and they couldn't access the oat milk until then. And then finally this morning at breakfast, two other tables came in after me and were served before me. The breakfast came and was missing a sausage. And the continental breakfast was pretty much empty. No juice, no pastries, the fruit was not fresh (tasted like vinegar) and basically everything was not filled up. Extremely disappointed. Not what I expected from a supposed 4 star hotel at all. Another minor issue - there are no plug sockets by the bed. Where the lamp plugs in you'd think you could use that, no the top pin is rounded so is not usable.
Nettes Personal, sehr zuvorkommend
Ausstattung sehr viktoranisch, Bad sehr alt
Room was excellent
It was a nice hotel in a good situation staff were good beer price bit much but that's the only fault.
Beer price
The hotel’s front rooms are full of character.
The restaurant is either understaffed or the staff need more training. They all seemed very stressed.
Room big comfortable luxurious excellent shower helpful staff
No biscuits with tea/ coffee usually expect something!
Cooked Breakfast v small I had eggs tomatoes and black pudding and kit one v small poached egg half a tomato and small slice pudding. Looked rather pathetic!
Good location near to the wedding we were attending at another local hotel.
The receptionist was rude and not just to us but to anyone who appeared at the desk, especially so to the courier who came by as we were checking in.
The surrounding park looked very nice and maintained.
The hotel has a very traditional flair and the breakfast was very good.
The elevators are a little bit hidden, like in a maze.
