Pros:

The grand old fashioned building with character and the lovely woodland setting.
Pancakes at breakfast were lovely!

Cons:

No fault of the building but a herd elephants could be heard on the floor above us pacing back and forth till all hours. It was quite noisy! Surprised the sound travelled so far in an old building.

Attended wedding at Hotel and stayed over for convenience

Nice bed , lathe room and a bath nice breakfast although cheap brown bread for toast

Pros:

Von außen wirkt es gar nicht so herrschaftlich, aber drin fühlt man sich gleich in die viktorianische Zeit zurück versetzt. Sehr sehenswert.

The hotel was very comfortable,very clean bedroom and bathroom
Pros:

Breakfast was good, good choice and very good coffee!

A beautiful building with lovely public areas but very poorly run and overpriced restaurant
Pros:

Beautiful old building in lovely grounds, large bedroom and bathroom

Cons:

Breakfast was cold and badly organised , tea and coffee took almost half an hour to come and were also cold.
Bed and pillows etc very lumpy and uncomfortable

OK for the money but really needs to invest in making the rooms more modern.
Pros:

Grounds around the hotel are stunning. Facilities inside the hotel are very nice.

Cons:

The room that we had was very dated decor and furnishings appeared to be from the 90's. The carpets in the corridors leading to the room were mis matched and crinkled.

Could be better 3☆ at best!
Pros:

Beautiful old building, great location, large bedroom, plenty of parking and nice breakfast.

Cons:

Reception left unattended and had to seek out staff member who we passed in the corridor with our luggage chatting to her collegue cup of tea in hand, not the service you would expect for a 4☆. The bed runner in the room was stained what looked like bodily fluids and stains on carpet also.On check out not asked about our stay at this point these things would have been pointed out!

Short stay get away.
Pros:

The setting of the hotel in amongst some glorious trees is magical, particularly in Autumn. The public areas and the detail in them were quaint. Full of history.
Breakfast was very good. Day 1 our waiter took the order, day 2 buffet style, both great. The young lad (blonde hair foreign accent)serving us was excellent.

Cons:

Lack of plug sockets in our room particularly either side of the bed and the fact that they would not take a standard UK plug. I tried tobunplug the fixed lamps to plug in my extension lead but the fixture would not take our plug(standard)
The room for a deluxe room was dated.
Our bathroom however was in great condition, good shower, plenty of space.

Our afternoon tea was underwhelming with a serious lack of engagement from the staff.Had many better afternoon teas at a much less cost. We had to go looking for a drink other than Tea or coffee.
I have been to this hotel many times and on this occasion was a little under whelmed. Sorry.

Location. Residents’ bar. Panelling in main building. Event space was ideal size.
