All was good
All was good
Fabulous hotel, room size was excellent, very well equipped. Very comfortable
The layout of the hotel made navigation to our room very complicated and confusing, having to go up in a lift to a level above, then walk the length of a corridor to another lift to go back down to a lower floor to get to the floor where are room was located!!! Then all in reverse again to get back out. Very confusing, more signage would have been useful.
For a hotel of this standard, the breakfast was poor, very limited selection of fruit, bread and pastries, no Greek or flavoured yoghurt, only lowfat natural.. Even the hot menu was unsatisfactory, guests being required to pay an additional cost for other options which were different to a standard cooked breakfast, most unsatisfactory.
I am amazed to say that I have had breakfast with considerably more choice and of a higher quality and standard at 2 star hotels and Premier inns and without incurring any additional charges.
On checkout there had been bottles of wine bolled to our room, when he hadn't been in the restaurant or bar. Obviously this was resolved, but should not have happened.
Amazingly we were not provided with any bottled water in our room or biscuits on the Tea tray.
All these little extras would make a difference to a guests stay
Pleasent stay as alway however, hotel seems short on staff.
Waited a long time to order the evening meal, had to go to the lady on reception to intervene and get someone to take my order. Food eventually arrived but was soggy! (Fish & Chips)
Good location fairly central
Overall looks a little "tired"
I booked this through booking.com - deluxe double with breakfast. Rommy was spacious and comfortable and well presented. The breakfast was good and I ate in the restaurant on one evening and enjoyed the Haggis Starter (amazing!!) and a steak. Service and staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel is in a beautiful setting. 15 taxi ride to the city centre. Hotel booked taxi’s fare cheaper than Uber. I would highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for traditional Scottish 🏴 hotel in lively grounds.
Small cups in room - Scottish hotel but no shortbread biscuit in room -
It was a wonderful experience. The hotel was so beautiful. Staff were awesome. 10/10
Great location, beautiful old building, a little tired but it goes with the ambiance
Breakfast buffet had run out by 9am but cooked breakfast was good.
I was fine but my colleagues struggled with the Wifi
Whole character of the hotel. We loved the old fashioned decoration.
The breakfast was very nice.
Slight noise from the heating plant at the back of our room during the night.
Era como entrar en un museo. Muy bonito
We have stayed here several times whilst visiting family in Aberdeen. It's a lovely place to stay, convenient for the city and also the surrounding area
This visit we happened to mention it was our wedding anniversary the next day, then on that day and they presented us with complementary glasses of wine with our meal. A very thoughtful and touching gesture
The room we had was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Staff are friendly while being efficient
We will be back
Nothing
Very big room, comfy bed, good breakfast.
Room has limited UK sockets.
Location and bedroom
