Pros:

The location was great for me. Staff very friendly. Breakfast was great.

Cons:

The only thing that was disappointing was, my room was not serviced. I left the Saturday morning to attend my conference and returned the evening to find that my room was not cleaned . Not sure if this is done for stay longer than 2 nights.

I chose the Mercure for its name and proximity to RMH and expected a higher standard
Pros:

The room was clean and spacious. As it was 45C on the day of our stay I was thrilled to find the pool was clean and inviting. The bed was very comfortable. After we had checked out I realized I had left a bag in the room. The young man at reception was friendly and extremely helpful.

Cons:

On entry the young lady at reception was efficient but not warm or welcoming. The bathroom was a bit shabby with areas of the wall having been partially repaired. The room was meant to have cable TV but all we had was free to air. We had dinner in the dining room which was a pretty standard area. My granddaughter had spaghetti bolognese which she loved however I had beef rendang and the meat was very dry and chewy though the rice was hot and fluffy. We arrived for breakfast at 8.15 and it was OK! The eggs(scrambled) were dry on top but quite runny in the middle, the hash browns were soggy and there was only 4 pieces of tomato but they were cooked well. The bacon was perfect for me.

Pros:

The staff were friendly enough

Cons:

The hotel was completely rundown, dirty, smelly and in parts falling apart. There were mould in the bathroom and no fan. The window in the living area was broken so would not open. The room was dusty and dirty and the beds were extremely uncomfortable. The mattresses I'm assuming we're very old so were worn out.

It stated this was a 4 star hotel but there is absolutely no way it is. It is a 2 star at best. Extremely disappointing and was a complete con.

I would like to know who I make a formal complaint with as I'm completely dissatisfied with what we were charged for such a rundown hotel.

Not coming back unfortunately.
Pros:

Location suited for medical testing at RMH

Cons:

For the price… low grade facilities. Bed very hard and lumpy. Receptionist very stand-offish. Room 104 was extremely loud with traffic noise very poor acoustics and some kind of device turning on and off and banging all night. Had no sleep and that’s why I left at 6 am.

Pros:

The bed was comfy, staff at reception wonderful, and location was good. But I wouldn’t recommend or stay again.

Cons:

The room was really hot overnight so sleep was terrible. AC would have made it more comfortable. I couldn’t even open the window for air as the bins outside were really smelly.

The room also had horrible smell in the morning when the kitchen started cooking breakfast. The smell came through the vents. I had to leave extra early to get out of the room (it’s food I’m allergic to)

The shower was also broken, and the head of the shower broke off and fell on me.
