Pros:

Close to RCH

Cons:

Shower wasn't cleaned properly, beds were hard abd uncomfortable and there was minimal TV reception. Light switch was broken and 3 down lights were out. Corridor and stairs looked like they had not been vacuumed for weeks

Very disappointing stay
Pros:

There was a tram stop only 400m from the hotel

Cons:

The beds had massive sunken divets, the shower tap was broken and no maintenance on staff to fix and they were fully booked so had to wait until 8pm to get a new room. The room wasn't very clean. The hot buffet breakfast was stone cold despite being there as soon as it opened.

Not worth it
Pros:

Good location to tram, and the room was huge.
Our 2 year old slept better than he does at home!
Shower pressure and heat was sublime.
The staff were lovely, down to earth, smiling.

Cons:

My hayfever was set off by the hotel. I couldn't breathe in the room, and made the mistake of opening the curtains which made it worse.
The room key kept faulting and we had to get it replaced at least 5 times over 2 nights.
The staff told us this hotel is used for the children's hospital - if you have respiratory issues, do not stay at the mercure north.
No toaster, plates or cutlery in the toom, only kettle, cups and spoons.

Cons:

The pool wasn't open, the mattress was ripped and the carpet in the hallways were all lifting and very poor quality.
It was more of a motel than a hotel, in serious need of an upgrade.

substandard for Mercure
Pros:

Nothing - I would not recommend it

Cons:

shower over the bath was dangerous - nowhere to hold onto when steeping back onto the floor. not railing. now where to hang a towel. Noisy - room on front near rod. no sound proofing. the curtains did not block out the light from the road. they didn't cover the whole window. the elevator was dangerous - regardless of the warning to watch your step.

Bad experience, feels like staying on dirty campsite
Pros:

Nothing

Cons:

Whole entire place is pathetic, there was cockroach roaming around on the dirty carpets of the lobby, very noisy place you feel like sleeping on the street, didn’t use the lift as it feels like it will fall off anytime or we get stuck inside.
Room bulbs were fused and sinks were clogged,
No exhaust in toilets
Overall experience is bad
