The HEAT!!!
Location/beach
Cleanliness
Staff are always amazing. Bar well stocked with great mixoligist.
Pool could of been a bit cleaner. Water was a little cloudy.
Was pleased with the proximity to the beach
The hotel does not provide handicap- or stroller-accessible ramp access to the beach on the ocean side. To reach the beach with a wheelchair or stroller, you have to exit through the front of the hotel and walk all the way around to the back, which is very inconvenient.
Additionally, only one elevator was working during our stay. The long wait times for the elevator were frustrating and caused a significant inconvenience, especially when carrying luggage or traveling with children or anyone with mobility challenges.
I booked an additional night during my stay, but the front desk staff could only tell me they “hoped” I would be able to remain in the same room. They couldn’t guarantee it, which was disappointing and created unnecessary uncertainty. Having to worry about possibly packing up and changing rooms in the middle of a vacation was stressful and could have been handled much better.
The location was awesome ...
The service and the cleanest..
I asked for extra towels and over 2 hours I had to call the front desk cuz they forgot about me. Also my comforter on one of the best was dirty when they brought a new one it was wet on all the corners....
Exellent
Property is ok. But not the restaurant
I liked how close it was to the beach and everything was available at the hotel
I hated to pay for parking when they didn't have enough handicap parking or parking in general and they only had 1 elevator working out of the 2 in the lobby
El desayuno y las instalaciones muy limpias.
La piscina no está profunda.
The things we came to see was close.
One night had a little issue with water pressure in the shower.
Nada
Amy, the night shift front office lady gave us a warm welcome
1 out of 2 elevators was out of service during our stay. Extended wait periods for the remaining elevator actually proved more annoying than anticipated, especially having my kids around to hear all the other guests very upset & using inappropriate language while expressing their frustration.
Dinner service at the hotel restaurant was probably one of the worst I have experienced in long time. 1.5 hours wait for a meal, still managed to deliver wrong & overcooked chewy food. Charged me for the drinks they forgot to bring to my table.
We stayed at this property just 2 years ago. It was fine back then. I can't believe how it deteriorated in such short amount of time.
There was unbearable fish-like smell coming out of cabinet drawers. Normally I would insist on a different accommodation, but it was a holiday weekend and the hotel was pretty much full (or at least that's was I was told).
We will NOT be returning here anymore.
The location.
Elevator problems.
We had a great stay and will definitely stay here again! The 2 rooms I booked were nice and clean; 1 room had a King bed located on the backside facing the parking lot, the other room was a Double Queen bed located on the side facing the USS Lexington & the ocean. We thought we got shafted at first when we paid for an ocean side view and saw it was the furthest room closest to the parking lot, but it did in fact have a nice view! The pool was also nice and clean, and we loved the pool swim up bar. The staff at the swim up bar made my young grandchild feel very special when she swam up and ordered a soda. The entire hotel staff was very nice and friendly. You pay $10.00 daily for parking by scanning one of many scan codes located in the parking lot. This process was very easy; you inputted how many days you are staying at the hotel, input your payment, and you're done! The hotel provides towels for the pool/ocean, so there's no need to bring any towels. If the rack of clean towels is empty, go to the front desk and request more. The beach is clean and they have rentals for chairs, sun tents, and jet skis! Jet skis are $60 for 30 minutes or $100 for 1-hour. The USS Lexington is right next to the hotel, and the Texas State Aquarium is just down the beach, all within walking distance. There are 2 nice novelty shops right next to the hotel as well as a few food places. Blackbeard's restaurant is right next to the hotel; it doesn't look like much on the outside, but the food was great and they had live music!
The hotel has 2 elevators, but only one of them worked, so it took a little while to get an elevator. The stairs are located on each end of the hotel if you decide to use them. My room was on the 3rd floor. (There is not a 2nd floor.) The 3rd floor is the only floor that you can't use a hotel supplied wheeled luggage carrier on using the MAIN LOBBY elevator, you'll have to take the SERVICE elevator located over by the pool. The main lobby 3rd floor elevator will take you to the 3rd floor, but this is the floor that overlooks the main lobby and beach, there's about 5 steps to get to the actual floor with your room...there's no way to get your hotel supplied wheeled luggage carrier up these steps. It would have been nice to know this upon checking in, I only found out about the service elevator later when I informed the front desk how frustrating it was trying to get my belongings up to my room because of the 3rd floor issue.
