The Hyatt Regency is located on the Riverwalk and that's great for daily walking or runs. The hotel is a bit dated, but still comfortable and very well managed. The location wasn't great for walkable restaurants and entertainment. There were a few restaurants in walking distance, but options are limited. At times, our group didn't feel safe outside in the evenings, just something to be aware of.
The room was comfortable. The bed was okay, but I've had more comfortable bedding. The bathroom was good. I had two queen beds so unfortunately the bathroom had a tub instead of a walk in shower. The small dresser was adequate for a solo traveler, but would be deficient for a couple or family, in my opinion. TV was great and had a variety of channels. I couldn't get the Chromecast feature to work.
Conference facilities were great, especial the AV services. The meals served for the conference were good, better than average for conference food.
Overall I would recommend the hotel, especially if reserved for a conference.
Beautiful hotel with great staff, dining, and amenities! Clean and updated rooms. Location is great as there are many nearby bars and restaurants. Amazing view of the river.
We had a wonderful stay at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront! The hotel was clean, modern, and very well maintained. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help, making check-in and our entire stay smooth and enjoyable.
The location is fantastic, with beautiful views of the St. Johns River and easy access to the Riverwalk, restaurants, and downtown attractions. Our room was comfortable, quiet, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.
Overall, this was an excellent experience from start to finish. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront to anyone visiting Jacksonville. Five stars!
We reserved a “Riverview” room for July 4th for what promised to be a great viewpoint for Jacksonville fireworks, and on that point, it fully delivered. In our experience, however, this property did not live up to Hyatt expectations in several other respects..
While the river view rooms don’t have walk-out balconies, they do have full sliding doors (and strong railings,) so you have an amazing view down the St. Johns River to see and hear the fireworks display; the illuminated bridges, the launches from barges, and of course the spectacular fireworks. On that score, the Hyatt Riverfront was great — but in several other ways, it failed to be so.
It starts with the elevators, or more to the point, the lack of sufficient working ones. At least two of the hotel’s eight elevators were not in service, and that meant lengthy waits each and every time. It never stopped being that way from afternoon check-in to morning departure. After a while, it became an unhappy expectation.
Other disappointments: the “hot” water might best are described as lukewarm the evening of our stay, making for a 12-hour change in showering plans. And our room safe did not work at all; no lights, no noise, no nothing.
Them there was the food; the late-afternoon appetizers at the ground-floor tavern were disappointing. It doesn’t have to be great but this might be best described as unappealing. We passed on lobby breakfast here and looked up a First Watch along our route out. Suggestion: if you want light bites for dinner, book a bar table at Morton’s located immediately adjacent on the ground floor. It won’t cost you much more than the Hyatt’s own offerings and likely to be far better.
The hotel management deserves credit for handling check-in madness — I counted at least eight staffers handling the afternoon rush, and while the line was among the longest I can ever recall seeing in any hotel, it was handled quickly and well.
So kudos for that and for the fireworks views. But overall, the hotel could have done better to live up to the Hyatt name and expected experience.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were welcoming, professional, and always ready to help. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the amenities met all my expectations. The location was convenient, making it easy to explore the area. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience, and I would gladly stay here again.
The location is excellent. The view of the riverfront is phenomenal. The facility smelled amazingly great! The bed was comfy. It was my second stay. I took my sister for a weekend getaway.
The prices in the gift shop were insane. Because I needed it, I paid $24 for an eyeliner that I’d normally pay $9 for elsewhere! Ugh!
Staff, location hotel - all great.
While the hotel itself was very good, with great staff and a strong location, the noise issues were unacceptable. The windows offered almost no sound insulation, so street noise on the 2nd floor was excessive. Additionally, the AC unit produced a loud relay thud every few minutes, which made the room difficult to sleep in.
The location was PERFECT for all downtown festivities and 250th July 4 fireworks viewing! Bravo. The hotel atmosphere was modern, clean, safe, and easy walk to the city festivities on the north river bank with a nice band, food trucks, beverages. The valet staff was delightful and professional. The hotel texts and Hyatt app helped us seamlessly book a room and have digital key access during a busy time which gave us time to rest from the heat instead of standing in line! We are VERY GRATEFUL to our request for a paid room upgrade on the app where staff placed us RIVER FRONT to view the fireworks from the 9th floor. WOW WOW WOW. Thanks so much for this UNIQUE experience! The hotel room was renovated, very comfortable beds (2 queen), cold crisp air conditioning on an extreme heat day, the smart TV was large and after real fireworks we enjoyed firework shows from around the USA! The view of downtown Jacksonville at the river and while walking the riverfront paved area was a great experience which everyone should enjoy! From the rooftop pool area to the pavers, this hotel is a perfect location. Add the wonderful staff. I rank it very high as a luxury downtown Jacksonville experience. The bathroom was well lit and the shower was nice with hot water and water pressure. The mini balcony waterfront room was the prize and it made our dream come true. Thanks so much!
We enjoyed seeing smiling staff on a very busy holiday. The Shor-to-go Market menu was excellent and the food was delicious.
Thank you Hyatt Regency staff for providing a fantastic experience. This is our 3rd July 4th booking over the years. It was memorable.
Stolen AirPods by cleaning staff. On my Apple Find My Device I can see them commuting back and forth to work from a local address. I’ve been attempting to call security for the last week only to be left on hold for over 10 mins and no response.
Great hotel perfect for fireworks! Room was clean and staff was helpful. Pool is small. Snacks in the bar were great. would go again.
The hotel was amazing and had great views. Very walkable. The kids enjoyed the many options for snacks and we enjoyed a drink at the bar after a full day at the ballpark.
We had a great view from our room. The hotel had a 24 deli also! The restaurants were nice also. The staff was very friendly. The gym had professional equipment with a view of the river! The rooftop pool was Awesome 😎
On one of the days the pool was not cleaned correctly. I spoke to a staff member about it. They assured me that the problem would be taken care of.
This hotel is secluded but has a cafe, Starbucks coffee inside, and a steakhouse. You have a great view of the river and a trail to run or walk. The room was clean and bottled water was included. No Telemundo or Univision channels in the line up. The elevators are secure with key tap to go past the 4th floor.
The Hyatt staff did an amazing job on a very busy July 4th! They had the lobby set up for a fun, festive atmosphere with beverages and snacks for guests to enjoy while waiting to check-in. Very polite and accommodating! The fireworks viewing party they set up on their 3rd floor river deck was so fun, with a clear and CLOSE view of the fireworks show! Music, food and fun people! Thanks, Hyatt! Our whole family enjoyed our time there.
True it was the 4th and a larger crown is expected but I do not feel the hotel appropriately planned for it, service was slow for food everywhere. There is not much insulation between rooms as you can hear your next door neighbor in the shower. Plus the toilet was very low, hard for tall people
