newly renovated King suite was a major failure

Cons:

For $400+ a night, the "newly renovated" King suite was a major failure in hospitality. Between the heavy insecticide odor, the gloomy lighting, and a window facing a brick wall, the room felt more like a basement than a premium suite. The lack of basic bathroom ventilation only added to the frustration. I expected a high-end experience, but the quality here is nowhere near the price tag.

Comfortable, clean, and close to everything.
Pros:

Spacious room, helpful staff, everything very clean, convenient location.
Bathroom was large and well designed

Cons:

Somewhat generic feel. However, NOLA hotels that do have rich atmosphere are older and have much smaller rooms.

Convenient location near Bourbon Street and the St. Charles streetcar
Pros:

At check-in, we were upgraded to two double king beds with one of the beds in a separate room which was a nice bonus to have the extra room when traveling with my daughters.

Nicely located hotel with lovely staff in the French Quarter.
Pros:

The location is great, the staff is super friendly and nice, the room was lovely, with the exception of a couple of small things that could have definitely been much better.

Cons:

I never had so much trouble putting on make up in a hotel room before. The lighting was horrible. Most hotels of this caliber have better lighting and even make up mirrors. This hotel should invest in same.
Also, the blackout shade for our window was broken. The control inside the fridge was also broken and we couldn't turn up the temperature on the fridge.
