I love the Hotel and will stay there every trip in the future
The room size is well above what you would typically receive in Singapore at this cost level. Other reviews said the rooms were severely dated, and whilst I can see slightly what they were getting at decor wise, it wasn't that bad at all. Very functional rooms.
The MRT is outside and has good access into CBD/chinatown (20-30m door to door); the busses also go from outside and go pretty much everywhere. The Citymapper app was great for working out where.
We did not try the hotel's restaurants as there is a fantastic hawker centre across the road full of cheap and tasty eats.
Something to be aware of is that the pool is not that deep (1.2m max) and tends to have children in most of the day, which is great for parents/families but less great for relaxing. The sun loungers have no shade, which is an odd choice.
We booked a king bed with our child and expected to share the bed but they had already made up a small bed for her. We checked out but didn’t fly until 9pm and they offered us a key to use the gym to freshen up before our flight. Location and facilities were great.

Location! Location! Right across the street to public buses, MRT. Parkway shopping centre and market and eating places from the front of hotel to the back of the hotel to Katong area. Just lovely to walk around. The staff are the best part of the hotel, very courteous and helpful and believe that some of them have served the hotel for a very long time, very commendable.
The hotel is dated and you can see from the condition of the rooms, just wear and tear in some areas. The same old looking bathrooms, the bathtub is not functional, hard to get out of it and can be dangerous when wet. Dislike the shower curtains, water tends to drip out on the bathroom floor when showering. Provided no face towels in rooms on 8 floors and was told by room attendant that only the higher floors and suites are provided with them. Shame had to use the hand towels instead. The breakfast was passable.
It was clean, spacious, smelt good, situated in a perfect location. Beds were super comfy, staff were so prompt and professional

Super close to MRT station. Also close to airport. Theres a mall nearby. A number of groceries nearby. Indoor hawkers nearby. Super convenient. Room also very spaceous. Extra bed was free.
No handheld hose showerhead- showerhead is fixed onto wall.
