The lock was not working properly . Thrice I had to come down to the reception to get it repaired . Battery was the issue looks like at the front lock .

Nothing 'Grand' here, but then that reflects the mass tourist class corporate stay, I suppose. Bland, overpriced bars and food and no frills in room at all. Some boutique hotels in Singapore offer muc better than these corporate stays.
Not much, to be honest. A place to stay in a clean and comfy bed in a tourist hotel. It's a Mercure, I didn't expect more.
Friendly staff, great facilities and a good location for getting around Singapore. Perfect for morning runs/walks in east coast park

People at reception was really nice and resolved all my queries. I could leave my luggage at the hotel after checking out and collected it later.

Definitely a business hotel which needs some TLC in places. There are quite a few smoking rooms in the hotel which give a background smell of stale tobacco smoke.
All the staff here are friendly and helpful and check in was quick and painless. The room was OK but very dated. The bed was comfortable and that’s all we required for our 3 night stay as we were exploring Singapore. The food we did have at the hotel was expensive and didn’t compare with the Hawker market about 100 metres away. The hotel is right next to a bus stop and MRT station and in that respect was great for exploring the city. Would we stay here again, probably not, as there are more soulful hotels in Singapore.
