The location was fantastic! Cool historical building. The pillows were great! Nice view of the city.
Customer service was terrible! One small elevator working, roaches in our room, no mini fridge, the double beds are full size instead of queen and uncomfortable, the ac/heater wasn’t working properly, and the elevator noises were loud in our room until early hours of the morning.
The quality and quantity of the BF meal was outstanding, however there was only one staff member taking orders from customers.
The cost of the rooms per night were to expensive. This was the first time in 40 plus years in attending ""The Magic City Classic"", that room cost per night exceeded ( $350.00 -$600.00 ). In previous years cost per night range ( $150.00 - $200.00 ) per night. The upword prices are absolutely ridiculous and cost me $834.00 this year versus $500.00 in previous years. I was told by one of your staff members that IN ORDER TO GET A BETTER OR CHEAPER RATE, call after November 1, 2025 to booked for 2026 Magic City Classic. I was priced $400.00 plus...SAD!!!!
The maintenance and valet workers were the only genuine and nice workers.
Long story short I got there with my group and had cash to pay. They gave me an option and that’s how I knew. I wanted to pay with cash because it was cheaper that way the lady at the desk was so ugly to me. She literally asked me after she told me no cash, Do you not have any money?” And was smacking on some barbecue chips. She was so disrespectful and was saying things as like well we just don’t do it blah blah blah with no real answers. and she said they took cash at checkout but not check in mind you I came three hours away and took out cash specifically because it told me it would be cheaper. The rooms literally had no clean linens. The towels had old makeup on from the previous people and the sheets had stains on them and so did the comforters. The location is the only thing good about this hotel.
The staff was great and the rooftop was a great addition for late night
Beautiful older hotel. Ms. Shvonne at the reception desk was awesome at check in. there were a few hiccups with my digital key on arrival but she was kind enough & saved me a trip back down to the lobby and was able to bring me a hard copy. The room is a little dated for the price but i got a beautiful city view.
We first visited Redmont about 10 years ago and were greeted by valets in stunning red uniforms. Classy. This trip, however, the valets greeted us with a strong vaping smell and there was no one at the front desk. The hotel is very tired. I am not sure what it means that there were no people in the restaurant. One of the two elevators was broken and the one that worked was so noisy that we were happy when we safely reached our floor. We thought we would go to the rooftop lounge of which we had fond memories. Unfortunately, the one working elevator only went to the 14th floor and the rest of the distance to the rooftop was through construction like stairway and honestly, it was scary! At the top, when I asked the bartender if there was another way to get to the lobby, she told me to use the elevator on the right...the one that was broken! Maybe she did not get the memo that it was broken. There was no refrigerator in the very tired room and there was no hot water at the sink. We attempted to find ice on several floors and ultimately had to go to the front desk. I was so excited when my husband told me that he made reservations at the Redmont because of our prior experience. This hotel should not be in the Hilton Curio brand.
Trendy cool look
The elevators were very noisy. The staff was not really happy to be working. This morning’s staff member at the checkout desk was asleep. She really did not want to print a receipt.
I wanted to stay at an old historic place, old is what we got.
Pull up to front of hotel approximately 7:30 p m, on a Friday, valet sign there but no attendant. (I called earlier to inquire about parking since the website states no self parking & we had a small trailer with our suv. Clerk stated we could park across street in a lot. ) Walk in, no valet on Friday evening. Funny?!Told us to download an app to pay for city parking.
We are Hilton members, not that it matters. Get in elevator, didn’t think the old thing would make it to the 4th floor. The hallway carpet has seen better days even though the Room/bathroom have been updated. We hear a rumble coming from AC closet in which the door is falling off. Since husband is a contractor he takes a look. The filter had NEVER been changed so the poor system was struggling. Nope, not staying this room. Go back downstairs ask for another room, this one was on 6th floor same room-location directly above other one. Pretty bad when furniture has been painted over not properly refinished, could see old finish scuff marks. Lamp shade on desk in bad shape. TOILET SEAT DID NOT fit toilet!! Rust showing thru on ceiling of bathroom as well as door hinges. No knob on closet doors, claw marks from others trying to slide open the heavy doors, I have very short nails & one still broke trying to open door. I so wanted to leave but we would not receive a refund. Go back downstairs to eat, what a JOKE. Gal takes her horrible long fingernails & touched items on my menu on table that they are OUT of which is SEVERAL items. Stated been out for a week & didn’t like having to tell guests but she had to. She was not properly dressed at all more like she was in her own home. Too casual, No uniform.
I wanted to say I’m not impressed with your nails but I didn’t as I was loosing my appetite. Husband gets a hamburger, I get nothing. Small hamburger on big bun, greasy fries that took over 20 minutes to get at $20.00.
I’m sure I’m leaving out something but I covered enough to say don’t stay here, wish that we hadn’t.
Not well maintained, no hot water in bath sink, room odor, restaurant, location
I love everything about the Redmont! It's always beautiful and welcoming.
There is nothing that I didn't like
A shabby hotel really.
The reception staff, with one exception ( long fingernails ), were functional, with no welcome, charm nor interest. An excellent guy was the tall valet parking man. Really engaged and an asset.
The corridors look like something from a prison. The two queen bed room we initially had was basic, and depressing. There was a clunking noise every few minutes..I went to reception, “it’s the elevator “..!. ( Then don’t put me in a noisy room, or fix the elevator.) I was moved to a corner room which was bigger and better. Unfortunately it had a door adjoining the next door room, so the TV from there woke me at 7am. From 11-7, the hotel finally was silent.
The rooftop bar is small and pretty seedy looking. The outside bit has a view of an ugly city., the lobby is unwelcoming.
The lounge bar is small but lively.
Parking is a ludicrous $38 a night. Fortunately I was there at the weekend, where parking at the plentiful meters is free from 3pm Fri until early Monday.
Not a good place
