Fogcatcher Inn

The Front Desk staff were excellent! Always with fresh and delicious coffee and great directions to whatever we needed! The beds were comfortable and the rooms clean! Thank you! I loved having the beach across the street and hearing the surf all night!

Pros:
Room is very spacious.
Our non-view room still had an ocean view.
Hotel was quiet and relaxing.
Windows open allowed a great breeze.
The pillow top bed was extremely comfortable and so were the pillows.

Cons:
There were sow bugs everywhere in the bathroom. On the walls, in the bath tub, on the floors. I’d kill them and then more would come.

The carpet was SO dirty. My son and I showered and had clean feet. After walking around the room getting ready, our feet were black when we went to put on our socks. I wanted to throw up.

The water pressure in the shower is practically non-existent. I would hear a knocking sound every 10-15 seconds and the water would shut off and then back on. It took me 2x as long to shower than normal.

The pool was still broken as of our trip dates(3/17/26-3/19/26) and that was not disclosed to us. I only just found out after they told us we could walk down the road to a sister hotel.

While I did give the hotel three stars, it was not a bad stay. If they would just clean the carpets and work on the water pressure, it would be quite enjoyable. I know the bugs are hard to keep out since the hotel is surrounded by nature, but the amount of them were kind of crazy. They are harmless bugs so it wasn’t a total deal breaker.

Overall, we would stay here again if it came down to it, but for now I think we’ll check out other hotels to stay at.

We can’t wait to return to this comfy inn by the sea. The property is spotless and beautifully landscaped. The Cambria beach and boardwalk for sunset strolling is right across the street. We enjoyed the fireplace and the outdoor fire pits in the evening.

Property is tired and in need of renovation. Looks like they are trying to cut corners and save money. The main photo for the property's ad shows a firepit aglow with the ocean in the background. That firepit wasn't working either. A couple sitting there went to the front desk to ask about having it turned on... "maintenance is gone for the day".

Great location, the Ocean View was worth it, and the staff was wonderful.

Location is the best on Moonstone beach!!!

I liked that they had fresh brewed coffee in the office with granola bars and apples each morning.
I also like that the ocean was right across the street.
The bed was very comfortable and the staff was very friendly.

Very friendly and professional staff. Accommodation were very nice, clean and well organized. I would definitely come back.

We arrived early and they were able to get us into our room early. They made sure we had everything we needed.

Beautiful location, awesome rooms, friendly and helpful staff. The property is lovely and very close to the ocean. 10/10 would come back.

The room was clean and large for entertaining. We loved the fireplace which kept us warm
The shower, bathroom, and king size bed all made the room so comfortable. The outside with the gorgeous partial view and outdoor pitt was so lovely.

We had a lovely stay at the Fog Catcher.
My only complaint was that the windows of our second floor Ocean View room were dirty, (really dirty)
We opened the windows when it was warmer for better visibility.

We were very impressed with the family suite. It was light bright, and very spacious and well appointed.Beds were wonderful. The staff was very warm and friendly helpful with advice on what to see and do. We highly recommend the FogCatcher Inn. We have been regular customers of the Fogcatcher Inn. and look forward to returning and taking in more of the area.
