Hotel tranquilo
Pros:

Hotel de estilo colonial con habitaciones funcionales y cómodas. El desayuno fantástico. Las instalaciones muy completas y el personal muy amable.

Cons:

Está apartado del centro, a unos 15 minutos andando, lo cual tiene la ventaja de la tranquilidad pero con el caos de tráfico de Katmandú no es muy práctico.

Would thoroughly recommend this lovely hotel with excellent well trained staff
Pros:

The Shankar’s staff were polite and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were large and the bed comfortable. I counted 22 light switches, so a light combination to suit everyone. The shower was roomy and had two shower heads. We had a few power cuts when we were there which lasted minutes, but there were 2 emergency lights in hallway and toilet so not left in the dark. The hotel is undertaking renovations so maybe that’s why. It wasn’t a problem.
Buffet dinner is really nice, with the soup being exceptional.

Cons:

There is a small gym area in the spa section. , It has three machines. However, the air-con doesn’t work, there are no sanitisers for the equipment, no towels or cups for water. It could be upgraded at small cost

I had a wonderful experience at Shankar Hotel. The hotel was very clean, and the customer service was excellent. I would especially like to thank Ganesh at the reception for being so helpful, kind, and welcoming. His outstanding service made my stay even more enjoyable. Lovely hotel in Lazimpat area of Kathmandu.
Pros:

Lovely hotel in Lazimpat area of Kathmandu. Walking distance to Thamel. Nice comfortable room. Lovely pool area with food. Basement restaurant okay. Large buffet style breakfast. Staff really helpful.

A pretty heritage palace
Pros:

I like the building. It's a beautiful small heritage palace with a nice garden. The staffs in the reception were friendly.
I was upgraded to a suite because there was a renovation works on another floor which made a lot of noise. The rooms are clean. The beds are comfortable. A small birthday cake presented on my birthday.
The breakfast was good with enough variations/styles to choose, with friendly staffs.There is egg station and at least four different juices.
The Bar is also okay. Better than I expected regarding the list of the beverages.

Cons:

The bathroom sink, both in the first room as well as in the suite were brown around the drain hole.
I had to tell the cleaning staffs to clean them properly.
The breakfast is in a party hall.

Heritage feel with wonderful modern amenities
Pros:

The staff and room were lovely. The welcome drink was a nice touch. The heritage feel of the building with modern amenities is excellent. I would have preferred a more robust breakfast spread, but having said that, what was on offer was excellent. For some reason we were given a room that involved a LOT of walking while other rooms were free. BUT, overall, cannot fault the staff and their cooperation and friendliness.

Cons:

My room was a bit far, and one had to go through the lobby to get to the pool. I would have preferred a more robust breakfast spread, but having said that, what was on offer was excellent.
