10 days at the JW Copacabana in Rio
Pros:

Wanted to recognize Yusef, the hotel lobby bartender. Yusef is very friendly, multilingual, and every drink he makes is outstanding!! We make sure to stop at the lobby bar at the end of every night. Yusepf is definitely an asset to the JW Copacabana.

In addition, all the food service staff and guest services / concierge staff are very friendly and helpful. We loved the daily breakfast buffet and the happy hour spread!!

Excellent stay all around
Pros:

What a wonderful 5 nights my family and I had at the JW. It’s a beautiful, classic hotel with amazing service. We switched to a hotel in Barra for the 2nd part of our trip and are missing the JW service.

While I did book a suite, the hotel very nicely upgraded us to an ocean front room- so pretty. Breakfast was an option between club and restaurant- both had great choices. The club staff was truly amazing- so kind and thoughtful with me and my family. Made the whole trip extra special.

I’m lifetime platinum with Marriott and also stayed at Grand Hyatt- I much preferred the JW, mainly for the service.

Acomodação, localização e facilidades na região. Atendimento adequado para a categoria do hotel. Prestadores de serviçõs muito atenciosos. Café da manhão muito bem servido.

Cons:

Preço exorbitante: reservei pelo booking, com escolha de moeda em R$, porém apareceu o valor em USD, o que me induziu a comparar o valor de forma irreal, para um hotel bresileiro que cobra em dólares norte-americanos. Anúncio enganoso que me induziu a pagar bem mais do que pagaria em uma acomodação similar.

Localização, simpatia e prestatividade dos funcionários, conforto da cama, excelente café da manhã. A recepção é imponente e os elevadores passam um ar de sofisticação. A vista era impecável. Não fomos à praia desta vez, mas o hotel disponibiliza um serviço gratuito de barracas e cadeiras.

Cons:

Não tivemos nenhum problema específico com nossa estadia, no entanto nos incomodamos com algumas características do quarto. Primeiramente, nossa TV não era smart - não que o objetivo da viagem fosse ficar vendo séries por streaming, mas eu esperaria o mais moderno da tecnologia de um hotel 5 estrelas. Ademais, a porta do banheiro era do estilo "saloon" e ficava uma fresta aberta de cerca de 2cm entre elas, não isolando totalmente o banheiro do restante do quarto, sendo um pouco desconfortável pela diminuição da privacidade. Não me atentei pelas fotos que o chuveiro era de cortina e em cima de uma banheira. Sei que isso é uma diferença cultural mas não posso dizer que essa conformação me agrada. Nada dessas questões prejudicaram nossa experiência, mas o custo-beneficio deixou a desejar.

Amazing stay for my first trip to Rio!
Pros:

We had the most amazing stay at the JW Marriott in Copacabana. The location is phenomenal, just steps away from Copacabana Beach. This was my first time in Rio, and each member of the staff went above and beyond to really make our stay a special one. Being my first time in Rio and hearing stories about safety, I was very pleased that we felt safe and comfortable the entire time.
The breakfast buffet, rooftop pool and lounge area, cleanliness of the room and attention to detail from housekeeping were all fantastic. I want to call out Daniel and Nico for being extra good to us, thank you both so much. It was the best vacation of my life
