Terrible
Pros:

The room was very dirty. No house keeping staff to clean after a one night stay. Scheduled to stay four but only sleep one night and checked out. Asked to be charged one night because I left the second day after getting off work. This place is a disgrace to all quality inns. Check in staff was not pleasant. Dirty shower.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!
Pros:

This place was awful! The hotel clerk's were NOT nice! The room had A/C problems staying cool and they would NOT move me and special needs son to another room! There were roaches in the vents! NASTY PLACE!!!

Place to Stay
Pros:

The Quality Inn in Arab was close to the event that we went to Arab to attend. The price was ok also. The room was clean and smelled pleasant. That is about where the good qualities ended. The pool was closed in May. The complimentary breakfast was VERY sparse. It looked like they has pressure washed the side walks and walk throughs. This left a puddle of water and the bottom of the stairs that you had to avoid each time. The young girl that was there when we checked in was pleasant. The other lady was not. We had to go back to the office to have our keys redone because at check out, they no longer worked (we stayed 2 nights). If you just need a place to sleep and don't really expect much from a hotel, then this would work for you.

Worst night in a motel ever if you're on a business trip. Don't stay here, you won't get any rest after midnight if you're on bu
Pros:

When we arrived the first thing that did not work was the television ,phone. The 3rd night neighbors woke us up at 2:30am. Couldn't get manager, wouldn't recommend staying here. Could not get any response from the manager or the police about the noise.

Don't do it!!!
Pros:

To the rude middle Eastern woman at the front desk, don't worry about "hating to allow service dogs" and the tremendous amount of money you claim they cost you. This time a service dog didn't cost you a penny but your rude attitude did. We drove the extra 15 minutes to Guntersville and stayed at a NICE HOTEL with employees who know what kindness, friendliness and customer service is. I guess I could've stayed there and stared out the window at the McDonald's, but instead I opted for a balcony with a lake view, with my service dog laying right beside me. Weird, everyone here welcomes us with open arms and loved that my service dog was with me. Word of advice, you keep bumping those gums about how much of a problem service dogs are and expect a letter from the Federal ADA enforcement people. You actually have the nerve to complain about the added cost a service dog costs you, while charging people $101 up to $120 a night for a room with a bed!!! Yeah I'm sure you're really losing money at those rates. To any potential customer, save time and drive the extra 15 minutes where you will have a choice of many places to stay instead of this one story dump! I'm going to include a few pics from where I stayed at the Wyndham Garden Lake in Guntersville.

Nasty pool
Pros:

Management is rude and can’t help supposedly! The air worked on and off all night and we kept having to reset it before it got cool again, got up went to the pool (which we asked before we paid if the pool was open was told yes ready to go) and it was green and stuff floating all in it! The shower made loud noises and the toilet ran most of the night and wouldn’t flush properly! They refunded me after 2 hours on the phone during a family reunion but it will be 1 - 4 business days before we get our money back!

Nasty Nasty Nasty!!!
Pros:

I stay at hotels a lot and this place is the nastiest place I have ever stayed at. The outside looks well maintained, the landscaping is good. The rooms are just filthy. Nasty carpet, nasty chair, nasty bedding. Stains and cigarette burns on the carpet and bedding. It’s a smoking room and it appears that someone used the drawers of the bedside tables as ashtrays... burn holes and ashes in the drawers. The refrigerator was nasty and even on maximum, it was not cold. The television was not working. The lobby was locked at 4 pm when we arrived. Rang two different buzzers and finally called an emergency number to get someone to check us in. We left for a few hours and when we can back neither key worked. There’s no way this place is worth the price I paid... or even half of that.

Only decent room in town
Pros:

I would not have stayed here if wasn’t the only option. Front desk was very kind and accommodating. But my 6 year old looked in the bathtub and saw bugs. He obviously refused a bath/shower... no amenities at all. Just a place to stay (cautiously) when you’re in town

Refunds for shortened stays
Pros:

The hotel is a nice, older property. Clean and comfortable. BUT...if you reserve for two nights and check out a day early getting a refund for the second night is NOT an easy process. I arrived on a Friday with plans to check out on Sunday. Plans changed...checked out on Sunday. Didn't look at receipt, but it showed a credit balance for one night's stay. When I got my credit card statement, it showed a charge for the 2 nights. I called the property FOUR times, but the manager was never in. No one else can put through the credit. I called Choice Hotels (offshore) customer service. They call the property and then told me to call back in the afternoon as the property manager would be there. When I called back, they said the credit had already been sent through. SO....watch your bill and credit card statement if you check out early!

Improved
Pros:

Believe they have been reading the past reviews. Rooms have new bedding and carpet, staff very polite. In room coffee maker worked however no cups so had to ask. Breakfast, well standard, nothing to really write home about. Nice small pool area that was very clean and well maintained. If you have kids and stop here they will be able to get rid of that extra energy. Beautiful parks close by as well.

Great Bed and better price than Guntersville
Pros:

Stayed here for business through the Hydrofest week. My room was clean, front desk staff was courteous and helpful. I worked 12-14 hour days and came back to a quiet cool clean room making it easy to shower and get a good nights sleep before doing it all again in the heat of June. Bed was great! I appreciate the price being in line with state employee per diem; not many hotels do this. Will definitely stay here again and plan to book for next years event as soon as the dates are released.

Arab Needs Another Option
Pros:

Stayed here for two nights while visiting family. First issue started at check-in. Rate I was charged was higher than the rate I booked. Was told by front desk staff that "the rate went up". What? Once I book, that is the rate I should be charged. There was another women at the front desk who I believe was either the manager or franchisee and she was able to resolve.

The room furnishings appear updated and the bathroom was small but updated as well. First impression was very positive but.........

When climbing into bed I noticed what appeared to be blood stains on the sheet. Took it to the office and got another sheet. The second sheet had to be returned as well. Looked like someone picked their nose and used it as a tissue. Finally the third sheet was clean.

Odd water pressure in shower. The colder the water the stronger the pressure. Very weak water pressure if you like a warm/hot shower.

Found two bugs in room the second day. One appeared to be some kind of beetle. Not sure what the other was. I assume these get in the room if the cleaning staff leaves door open while cleaning room. Did not bother mentioning this to front staff as I was leaving in the morning and what would they do about it anyway.

Breakfast was not very good. Eggs shaped like hockey pucks that were hard and dry.

Hotel sits back off of a major road with plenty of eating options. Others have commented about road noise but I did not have an issue with that.

Will likely stay in Guntersville on my next visit.

It's the only game in town
Pros:

Had to book rooms last minute due to a funeral.
Group included 2 elderly people that walk with canes, and one with a broken ankle. We had to take 2nd floor rooms. Asked where the elevator was, there isn't one. Not good at all.

They have full size mattresses on Queen box springs, be careful.
Room 1 had no issues. Room 2 had a toilet that clogged and overflowed. We were moved to another room with the exhaust fan hanging from the ceiling and not working.

The pool is covered with scum, not that swimming in N Alabama is happening outside in October anyway. The advertised gym was closed during the entire stay with an "out of order sign".

Room 2 had torn duvets, then we found a large yellow stain on another. Gross.

Breakfast was available, but was rarely replentished. We also ended up at McDonalds each morning, similar to those above. The sign to not take food back to the room was tacky. Considering 3 folks couldn't do steps and the non existent elevator, they had McDonalds.

The noise coming from 231 is the worst I've ever had it a hotel room.

This hotel would step up it's game if it had some competition, but it does not. We would stay there again only because I don't want to drive from Huntsville daily to visit family.

Close but missed the mark
Pros:

Literally the only place in Arab to stay, exterior looked clean, room interior was OK, then the fun started.
Hotel is behind McD and near a major highway so bring your earplugs. Air con was quite literally the noisiest thing I have ever heard, it almost drowned out the exterior. Either way it was NOISY in the room. Internet is straight out of dark ages dial up, so SLOW. The "free" breakfast is free because your could donate the WW2 surplus items. Biscuits that where better suited to the NHL, coffee from the dark ages, etc.
Overall I would drive the 20 mins to another place.

Rude Manager
Pros:

We thought it would be nice, our carpet was stain very badly, it was gross. I was looking foward to going to the pool, but there was loud foreign music blasting all day, on a weekday. The manager is foreign and extremely rude and should be fired, .Apparently Im not the only one that thinks thhat, according to other reviews! Check out is at 11 a.m.
Got a knock on the door for housekeeping at 10a.m. Went to talk to the manager about it and she was very rude, however the housekeeper was an American woman and she had the decency to apologize! Thank you and u deserve a better job than that! Also my wife walked to McDonald's for breakfast instead of eating there, cuz there is a sign that state's to not take the food back to ypur room. Seriously!

Good enough for a night.
Pros:

Average small town motel. Was promised a room in the front when booking, but when we got there, we had to take one in the back, and as I am handicapped, it was more trouble for me. The handicap room was rented already. Clean enough, but somewhat shabby overall. We have relatives close by, and this is the only decent place to stay anywhere close.

Good stay
Pros:

I can’t say the last time we’ve stayed at a Quality Inn but were with family for a reunion in Arab and this was the only hotel choice. The room we were in had a little bit of wear but was clean, bed was comfortable, and breakfast was good for the hotel size. The afternoon front desk girl was so friendly and helpful, but the evening one was not very customer service oriented.

Very Pleasant
Pros:

We were very pleased with the friendly Staff and Owner, they went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. The rooms seem to be newly renovated. Updated, nice, clean, very cold air conditioning. The pool was so nice and the gym/exercise room was an unexpected surprise, as the huge breakfast, so for a small town, we were delighted and will always stay here when passing through.
