Not worth the money or drive if you cant get the room you paid for.
Pros:

The new girl at the front desk was very nice but not her manager, not accommodating at all.

Cons:

I drove over 2 hours and could not check in until after 5pm and there is a guaranteed check in at 4pm. I paid extra to have a room with a view so I could hear the breeze however, my room faced the basketball courts so we could not leave the door open to catch the breeze which is why we drove out there. They would only grant a one hour late checkout even though they made us check in late. Not a happy camper.

Fantastic!
Pros:

We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. While it is a bit older, we did not miss anything. Clean, comfortable suite, amazing location, fantastic old CA vibe of Imperial Beach, our favorite brewery next door (Mike Hess) and ocean view from the balcony. What’s not to like? We will be back!

Cons:

The spaces are a bit older and could use a bit of sprucing up, but it was really not a big deal to us

Pros:

Right next to the ocean and other restaurants which is convenient

Cons:

Some of our neighbors were a little noisy, but the staff took care of it quickly

Pros:

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful with the ocean view. Great area. The sunset view was awesome from the rooftop deck.

Cons:

I was disappointed with the free "appetizers" at the sunset social. Honestly, for a top Marriott hotel, I was a bit embarrassed for the hotel. It just felt like the appetizer part was oversold. A cup of popcorn, a few olives, a cup of nuts...it just doesn't feel as high class as I would expect for Marriott BonVoy level offering. I would have just advertised free drinks at the sunset social. Everything else was perfect.

Amazing hotel!
Pros:

The people at the front desk were very professional, nice and helpful. The room was great! It was clean, spacious and nicely decorated. The hotel is in an excellent location. Balcony view was great and got a nice crisp breeze. The only downside was the noise after 8am. You could hear slaming doors and people walking. The overall experience was great! I will definitely be coming back for a little getaway!

Pier South San Diego was a hip, trendy, friendly, chill place to wind down and sleep. Patricia remembered us with a friendly greeting and graciously hosted happy hour with different snack offerings each evening.

Pros:

Patricia was fantastic. Super friendly and engaging. She is very thoughtful to a positive experience for the guests. Each day of our five day stay-which included Christmas Day Patricia was welcoming and had a hospitality spread prepared.
She is a vibrant part of the pier south team.

I stayed here for a quick night on a business trip. This hotel has an amazing view of the beach. Hotel staff is very fri

Emily at the front desk was very helpful and answered all my questions. Michael, the valet/security at night is amazing. I felt bad because I didn’t have cash on me to give him a tip, but please make sure he gets some sort of recognition. He went above and beyond and bringing blankets and pillows to the room.
