Hotel room was good; beds were comfortable; plenty of storage space. Bathroom was clean and good. Room was clean; it’s aesthetically not the nicest, but was only staying for a night so wasn’t concerned. The gym is very decent, and the pool is nice. Hot tub isn’t really that hot. Nice to also have a steamer and sauna. All this for a very cheap price - was a very good deal!

Could do with a good revamp. Thread bare, dirty carpets, squeaky floorboards and lukewarm water in the bathroom. Breakfast was good but I was concerned by the number of large flies buzzing around the dining room!
Room very dated. Tv so small so not worth having. No bar for afternoon drinks opens at 4pm. The windows in the room look like they have never been cleaned
Small Green Oases surrounding concrete Monsters, Top place for relax !
Street view a little off-putting but immediately off set by the warm friendly welcome at reception with full info to help with our stay. (Great idea to have a microwave downstairs for maybe heating up a late night supper for instance! )
Inadvertently booked standard twin room but Suzanne reception staff was lovely moving us to an "executive" twin, nothing too much trouble!
Room was spacious and very well equipped with a small fridge in bedroom, and ironing board and iron for instance, all making it well worth the extra few pounds for the upgrade.
The place is a dive cannot recommend sorry
The hotel is a big old and in need of some tlc but is comfortable enough and the staff are very friendly .
The room cost includes a drink at the bar which is fabulous!
Breakfast was fine and very affordable.
There is a pool sauna and steam room for use too .
Very good leisure facilities. Very helpful staff.
Very nice hotel in good location with free parking. Clean room and bathroom. Used the pool and they provide a towel. Big pool for indoors and steam and sauna rooms
Staff friendly and helpful. Only thing as mentioned before is size of telly in room. Very small
This hotel is as in a good location for guests travelling by train, station 5 minutes walk and for those driving as there is free car parking. There is a bus stop very nearby to take you into Central Bournemouth. The rooms are tired but perfectly adequate for a base , Breakfast is limited but fine. The staff we found were "Old School" both friendly and efficient. Compared with other hotels we thought it was good value. Yes it does need modernising but there is a long standing application submitted by one of Harry Redknapps sons to pull it down and built flats. this has been ongoing for some time with a large number of local residents lodging objections. Until this is resolved one way or another there is understandably no chance of spending money on updating the Elstead Hotel. we enjoyed our stay here and if it is still open would return her again ext year
We had a really lovely one night stay at the Elstead hotel. It was very convenient to be able to park right outside the hotel and it was walkable into the centre of town for an evening meal. We enjoyed a drink in the hotel bar and the provisions for breakfast were very good. The spa was an added bonus.
AVOID THIS DISGUSTING RACIST HOTEL AT ALL COSTS!! My partner checked in yesterday for a 3 night stay, he is black and our 8 year old daughter is mixed race, when checking in they were getting very funny looks up and down from the miserable receptionist but chose to look past it. Then when arriving at the room they found a dead pigeon left outside the window which absolutely stunk but again chose to look past it. Then today a man who could only be compared to a homeless addict on the road (literally dirt all over his face) entered the room whilst my partner was sleeping and stood there watching him!! Then when my partner woke and said get out the man left without even closing the door! My partner (now very concerned) left the room to find the person and ask then what on earth they think they are doing to the be told "your getting removed" "the police are coming to get you". I'm on the phone to him thinking what kind of hell hole have I booked! I have then called the hotel myself so see what on earth is going on and the man on reception who was very rude to me and sounded like he's on some sort of drugs himself stated that the man with his face covered in dirt was "his staff"!! The receptionist then said he is calling the police!! Not sure why because my poor partner did absolutely nothing wrong I can only put it down to his skin colour! I then called my 71 year old father who is local to the area to go down then and see what is going on, the receptionist was then very rude to my father not giving any straight answers just kept repeating that he is calling the police. My partner then gathered his belongings and left. The whole thing was recorded by my partner and will be posted on YouTube shortly. Absolutely disgraceful! If you want a nice stay with nice people don't go anywhere near this place!!
Very old and unkept property outside. Windows view was terrible. Room was too hot and too little ventilation
Lovely staff. Couldn’t help us enough. They could see my friends motability problems and gave us a room that made life so much easier. They helped us with places to eat and were all so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the sauna and the pool. The hotel may be a little dated but everything else made up for that and more. A fabulous breakfast, which I looked forward to each morning after my dip in the sea.
A big thank you to all the staff.
We were very pleased indeed with our room, it was the best we have experienced in the UK for a very long time. Extremely comfortable - spacious and well appointed.
This is the second time I have stayed here and will happily stay again.
The rooms are quiet, clean and the team are always friendly
Excellent staff and amenities in the hotel, including use of leisure facilities
Yes, this hotel does need a refresh, but then so does Bournemouth generally. It is clean, comfortable and the staff are all friendly and helpful. It was good to have the use of the leisure centre as it was rainy for most of our stay. Pool, jacuzzi, steam room & sauna, all clean and working properly. Lots of gym equipment too. There have been reviewers complaining about the breakfast but I don't agree! Good choice of cereal, fruit & yoghurt, juices, croissants, toast, scrambled eggs (NOT powdered as suggested by a previous reviewer!) bacon & sausages. That's plenty in my opinion! I enjoyed my stay there, won't hesitate to recommend it and hoping to return again soon.
Property is in a very bad shape
