Everything about this hotel is class. So enjoyed our stay.
Location was great. Staff friendly. Beds comfortable.
Rooms weren’t sound proof so was woken up by other guests during the night.
The rooms are really small and lacks storage for your things, could do with more space, drawers so things can be put away living out of a suitcase for three nights isn’t what I personally want to do. Felt quite small compared to cheaper hotels ie premier inn etc.
rooms did not match what we were booking online.
The consistency of the food at breakfast was poor.
We all got different portion sizes, different breads (cheaper loaf on Monday) and my mum got one slice of bacon on her sandwich. I asked for more and this was rectified but again the good standard on the first day was not carried on throughout our three days.
Asked for cleaning service and nothing was done for multiple rooms, bins not emptied, no clean towels etc despite pre ordering cleaning service via a QR code.
Hit with a £45 parking bill at the end.
Yes I got a message about this but I didn’t see it. However on arrival this was not mentioned when they gave you the ticket for parking. Being told on arrival would have been good to inform/remind us if we’d of seen the email.
The beautiful grounds, relaxing atmosphere and exceptional rooms. Staff were welcoming and attentive. Highly recommended
Nothing
We have stayed at Middleton's four times now due to the location, as it's only a few minutes walk from the bridge into the main centre, the pricing is cheaper than some hotels in the area and the size of our room was great this time.
We were 20 minutes early for check in so we waited in the main area and decided to get a drink, my husband went to the bar and for nearly 10 minutes the two staff members didn't acknowledge him whilst they were making cocktails. In the end, he came and sat back down without drinks.
The room wasn't as clean as the usual standard when we found staying, this might be due to us staying in the outer building but it seemed somewhat neglected. Some bathroom equipment needed changing, as this was rusty and dirty. My husband had to unblock the plug in the sink as it was stuck. The bedding was stained, and basic equipment like the remote control for the TV hadn't been cleaned in a while. Unfortunately not the best stay we have had here.
Good location for exploring the centre of York and urban York.
Good shower pressure and quick to warm up.
No second WiFi connection. Small shower. Had to ask for tray renewal.
The Staff were all so welcoming and we felt relaxed as soon as we arrived. Room was perfect: spotlessly clean and had all amenities, including a fridge with fresh milk. Breakfast was lovely.

Excellent location, clean, comfortable, very friendly staff
The only criticism I have was breakfast the second morning was not as good. However, the food was still lovely
The hotel was perfectly located, close enough to walk to the City Centre but on a quiet road away from the busiest parts. The accommodation was great and every member of staff we interacted with was both friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.
Nothing not to like.
Breakfast was exceptional with large and varied selection and provided food for people with gluten allergies.
The staff were extremely helpful and assisted for all our specific needs.
Restricted car parking for customers as staff use same parking areas.
Room was great as was breakfast. Short walk into centre of town
