Would book again - great for visiting the city
Pros:

Breakfast excellent, dinner excellent - mushroom linguine best of anywhere and steak perfect. Distance to city centre easily walkable and parked at the hotel (got there early). Staff lovely, professional, helpful. Nice bar area. Fridge in room stocked with fresh milk and bottled water. Temperature in room easily adjustable. Wonderful pillows!

Cons:

No complaints! Shower a little small and ensuite floor a little slippery. Not cheap and parking extra.

Very comfortable and restful stay
Pros:

An oasis in the centre of the city, so easy to get everywhere in York and has lovely spaces , both inside and out to enjoy. So lovely to have a proper lounge area to meet friends in, with a variety of seating.

Cons:

There was nothing to dislike, being very nit picky a couple of hooks in the bathroom to hang towels would have been great and a shower mat would have been lovely, but a small towel worked as well

Really appreciated the location and relaxed atmosphere in a delightful setting.
Pros:

Very happy that it was traditional, with excellent staff and many extra touches to add enjoyment.

Cons:

Very annoyed that I couldn’t get a lighter quilt. 10.5 tog is very warm & I would expect the choice of a summer quilt on request.

Pros:

prima kamer, fijne bedden, vlak bij het centrum, op loopafstand. Goed ontbijt.

Cons:

Er is geen schuurt of iets dergelijks voor fietsen. Je moet ze buiten aan een hek vastzetten. Met dure ebikes is dat toch niet fijn. Er is altijd wel een kamertje of een vertrek, opslagruimte te vinden, waar 2 fietsen kunnen staan.

Fabulous location and a lovely hotel
Pros:

Lovely place, handy car park, fab location. Great downstairs areas. The staff were always courteous and helpful.

Cons:

The room was smaller and darker than I expected for the price, though perfectly comfortable. I've had far worse rooms for more in London!
I didn't like the system of using a QR code to ask for housekeeping.

Pros:

Beautiful hotel, central to city, excellent breakfast, waitresses so helpful, all staff were helpful, would stay again.

Fantastic location, great food and friendly staff. I would stay again.

Cons:

Elizabeth on reception was very professional but would not allow any check ins before 3pm, even if rooms were ready. I have never had this at any hotel I'd stayed at and it took the shine off slightly, having to wait for half an hour.
We stayed in the second building and although the room and bathroom was impressive, the ventilation in the room was none existent. As it was over 30 degrees for our stay, it was unbearable.
