The hotel was in a great walking location from the train station. The staff were super friendly and helpful, including going above on beyond on a request. The room huge, bed was comfy and the biggest bathroom.

The staff were friendly and professional. The room (18) was clean and nice with a courtyard view. This was a Cosy room so was small but was just right for us. With a flight of stairs to get to it. The breakfast were amazing, on our last day decided to have the ham omelette thinking it would be a nice change from all the heavy foods we have eaten all wee from various places. , but this omelette is very substantial, well filled,and tasty. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Middletons Hotel.
Only downside for me ( and it really is a small downside) was as a smoker, the smoking area was a bit of a trek to get to and as an early riser was conscious of disturbing other residents. Could have done with a towelling robe. Which I understand doesn’t come with this type of room but is available with other type of rooms. Also other rooms get a robe, sleep spray, earbuds and an eye mask. Something to consider if you want that type of thing.
Staff were friendly, and within walking distance to York City centre.
The carpet was old, stained, and had not been vacuumed in a long time. My wife had breathing issues as soon as she arrived. I was coughing within a few hours. The tv was old and low quality.

Great location very quirky building with lots of different spaces. Staff were all friendly and very efficient. Breakfast was very nice and well run.
We had a few stairs which older people might have had problems with suitcases.
Beautiful hotel in a quiet part of York but within easy walking distance of the city centre.
Facilities are beautiful and the staff are excellent. We felt thoroughly at ease and the cottage within the hotel was perfect.

Paying to park car was extra and not welcome.
Lovely hotel and staff, didn’t have breakfast but had couple of meals and were very nice , room was a little small but enough for just my self.

The breakfast was excellent including the service, cannot fault it. On arrival, reception staff were very helpful and friendly, a great welcome. Location was perfect, easily access the main town and shops, also just a short taxi ride to the University. Highly recommend.
I don't think there was anything I didn't like? At a push, maybe the doors could be modernised in respect that they are card driven rather than a traditional key which makes the room key bulkier?

The buildings where the rooms are contained are old, creaky floor boards, the rooms are cheaply renovated, cheap furniture, basic shower in a bath.
Breakfast is really good
No aircon and no abilities to open windows. Ridiculously warm and aweful to sleep in.
Lovely maintained hotel,the rooms were lovely and very comfortable, the staff were very professional and helpful, the breakfast was excellent and the hotel is close to the centre of York. We will definitely be staying there again, every time we visit York.
