Lovely hotel in centre of York. Clean comfortable room. Nice bar and dining area's. Extremely helpful and pleasant staff.
Nothing.
Everything except breakfast. I was expected to take breakfast at a time to suit the staff. I understand the need for planning but up to a point. I had poached egg for my first breakfast but the chef overdid the vinegar in the cooking water to the extent that all I could taste was the vinegar. Subsequent 3 days were just toast. Okay second day then burnt on third day, Set a time for 8.30 the night before for my last morning but the next morning found that I had been moved back to 9 o'clock. The same member of staff had booked my taxi to the Station for 09.10! To be fair, Reception did however credit me for 2 breakfasts. Otherwise enjoyed my stay
See above Breakfast timings but serving staff handled the busy times well.
KONUM VE OTEL MİMARİSİ OLDUKÇA İYİYDİ. OTEL TEMİZ, ÇALIŞANLAR İLGİLİYDİ. YEMEKLER LEZZETLİYDİ.
2 GECE KALDIK . ODA TEMİZLİĞİ OLMADI .
Location
One miserable old guy who made a derogatory comment when serving breakfast
Location was excellent for York centre.
also quiet enough to not be disturbed really comfortable enviroment and outside space when weather allows..
Very good
Just a few things could be rectified as I’m disabled
The situation of it and the food
Nothing
Where it was situated (near York centre) nice room with tea coffee fridge dressing gowns, hairdryer and iron/ironing board.
Just a couple of little things that were slightly annoying.. a few times when we had been out and came back, we had to wait and search for a staff member as no one at reception for us to pick up room key.
An explanation of how to get out of the car park that had a barrier would be good with a large sign saying press button to exit. My husband had to reverse back down the steep incline to the barrier (that we thought was opened by a sensor). But you had to get out of the car to press the button both coming in and going out.
As far as we could see there was no lift so if you have heavy bags it’s a bit of a struggle going up the stairs. And obviously no good for anyone that is disabled.
Everething and more
Not a thing.
Breakfast was good, location good Room was good.
Afternoon tea was FAR.!!! too expensive,no way was it value for money.
How this hotel is anything but 5 stars shocks me. The price was affordable compared to other nearby hotels. The car parking was easily accessible, private which we liked and we easily got a space, but we did arrive on a late Thursday night in January. The hotel was quiet which was great but not surprising as it was January. The security guy who checked us in was lovely. Our room was clean and close to the bar and restaurant. The shower got hot quickly. We were able to book breakfast for the next day which was nice and we also had dinner in the hotel one night. I believe the pie we had was made in house which my boyfriend loved, my burger was also great. I had to send it back due to too much mustard, which was probably on the ingredient list and I didn’t read it properly but the chef was amazing and made me a completely new burger which was very nice. The drinks were a bit expensive. It was close to the city center and very easy to get to, we also realised as we left that the york wall was right round the corner. We had no noise problems. There a lots of places to sit throughout the hotel which was also lovely and it was very warm inside which is great for January weather.
The drinks were expensive. We would’ve liked the cleaners to come in and clean up a bit like change teabags and used cups and stuff. But I’ve already told the hotel about this.
