Perfect stay for York races and celebrating our 20th Wedding anniversary
Pros:

Fantastic hotel and lovely staff. Right in the heart of York. Lovely lady on check in gave us a complimentary drink for our anniversary

Highly delighted approaching the Hotel and before we entered the bedroom, then disappointment!
Pros:

The location was great especially the parking arrangements and the approach to the Hotel, reception and lounge areas raised our expectations to another level. Breakfast was also first class as was the service. The room was clean and the bed reasonably comfortable.

Cons:

Having raised our expectations with the ambiance, location and reception, to arrive a room that was quite small and a bathroom that you could not swing your hand round in, was really disappointing. The room rate inc. breakfast was over £200 and having been in London just two weeks before our visit, can honestly say that the room space and value was better in London. The toilet seat was very loose, however that was fixed while we were out at a concert. It was for just one night so bearable but next time, I would need to know that the room was a little more spacious than this one!

We won’t be staying there again
Pros:

The hotel is beautiful but we had some issues with how we were treated, also Ii was not well and we left a day early but still paid for the 3 nights we were charged for parking we didn’t expect that

Nice friendly and clean hotel with excellent location.
Pros:

The mattress was great, very comfortable.

Cons:

The pillows were too high with 2 and not high enough with only one pillow, as your head sank too low. Also, when the beds were made, too much duvet was tucked underneath so had to pull it all out to pull it up to shoulder level and tog wasn't quite warm enough. I woke up chilly and had to put the heating on.

Very good value for money ,inside the city walls 15 minute walk from the station and close to center
Pros:

We had n evening meal very nice and reasonably priced for a four star hotel .
Location was was ideal only minutes away from one of the ways onto the city walls,
The room we stayed in was very disability friendly,wet room, and ram into the entrance of the building

Cons:

The room was quite tired looking but we did choose a less expensive one

The venue ticks many many boxes & this hotel will always be on my go to venue for work or pleasure.
Pros:

I have stayed at this venue before, thus why I chose to stay again. Great location, right price, staff very very friendly & helpful, the rooms are beautiful & very comfy.

Cons:

We couldn't get a snack after 11pm, as the kitchen had closed, bar manager said we could order a pizza in though if we so wished.

Best stay in York.
Pros:

The room was superb, we received an unexpected upgrade to Orange Cottage. The little touches, wine, drinks and snacks all went to make our two night stay that little bit more special. The staff were so friendly and caring and nothing was any fuss. Just an exceptional experience from start to finish.

Having to leave!
