Had a really lovely stay at Travelodge Chesterfield. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in a great location, but what really made the visit stand out was the amazing staff. Claire and Matt were both incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was okay and made us feel genuinely valued as guests.
The hotel was immaculate- very clean. The bedroom was spacious and spotless. It had been renovated and so is all nice and new. The staff on reception and in the bar/restaurant were very friendly, helpful and kind- really excellent. It was quiet, modern and clean. I would definitely stay there again- great value for money. We liked the fact that we could have a family room for 3 adults- many hotels don't do this anymore and you have to buy 2 rooms. Well done Travelodge Chesterfield Centre!
All the staff we met at the Chesterfield Town Travelodge during our five-night stay were welcoming, friendly, courteous, helpful and efficient.
The hotel has recently been modernised and is a vast improvement on the old-style Travelodges, which were always "pared down". It always looked like cost savings were the senior management's main objective, not the customer. I hope that we will find such improvements at all the Travelodges we might stay at in the future.
Toilets stink of sewer most of the day
Mattress lopsided
Breakfast not worth £10
Need lot of improvement for a hotel that charges £200+ busy nights
Between a highway and busy roundabout roads
Exceptional Travelodge
The rooms are very comfortable and the beds are extremely comfortable. Breakfast was well presented and well cooked. In all excellent value. The one thing that stood out above anything else was the staff. Absolutely superb all round always a smile and so helpful.
It was an excellent stay and I look forward to returning for another stay
Excellent value for money one night stopover in a recently refurbished hotel. Man on reception was polite and informative for check in, only £4 for 24hrs parking. Only slight negative was the shower.....either very hot or very cold, mixer not doing what it should, so it needs looking at (room 302)
Would recommend and return based on this visit.
Fabulous upgraded Travelodge. Rooms spacious and clean Staff all very friendly and welcoming. Had dinner and breakfast excellent
Staff not interested in noise levels within the hotel and when reporting this, NO one on front desk to complain too. Would not recommend. It's cheap for a reason!!!!!
The room was clean and tidy, which is the only positive point to make about the hotel.
Stopped here a year ago wow what a difference , the hotel looks fantastic, I had tea and breakfast both were amazing , well cooked and the staff obviously enjoy working there,
Had a issue with the WiFi the lady who was the manager I'm sorry don't remember your name sorted this straight away as I really needed to complete my work, thank you also for printing my work for me you saved me so much time,
The rooms were warm and comfortable and such an improvement when you work away from home a lot to find a town centre hotel at such a great price and clean and welcoming well all I can say keep up the great work I will most definitely recommend you to not only my company my friends
I stayed in chesterfield town centre hotel for 4 nights, the atmosphere was amazing the staff are all friendly and welcoming. The room was outstandingly clean and the value was brilliant. Would highly recommend and will definitely be staying again
Still here but cannot wait to leave a review of the wonderful start we have had to our stay. Booking and check in couldn’t have been easier. Our room is spotless and everything in a good state.
Having just had a meal in the restaurant and bar, we’re beyond impressed. The quality of food for the price we paid is amazing. Our children enjoyed their meals as did we. It was hot, fresh and delicious. The service here is faultless, Dominic and Laura couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly and they genuinely seem to enjoy their job.
We feel like we have found a hidden gem here and everything ran smoothly to say it hasn’t long been open. We will definitely return 😊
Paying guests are not priorty in this hotel. A local council contract, confirmed by reception staff, denotes that these guests take priorty. Dogs were barking through the night and 'guests' smoking' weed by the front door was off putting. Did not feel safe staying in the hotel.
We only stayed one night as we were just passing through. We couldn't fault our stay. Friendly welcome when we checked in. The room was clean, fresh and comfortable. Would stay again without hesitation.
Perfect for a one night stay. We stayed here as a pit stop on our way up north. The room was clean and spacious. We were however woken up at midnight by the fire alarm however there was no fire. The hotel has just been refurbished. Would recommend.
Lovely hotel, great staff, comfy beds and even though on busy roundabout very quiet. Parking payable but free as we had a blue badge. Stayed before when it was an ibis and it was just as good this time. Staff couldn’t do enough to help us which was lovely. Hadn’t booked breakfast but went down and could pay on way in. Full breakfast, help yourself and plenty of choice and nicely cooked. The only downside is if you want to walk into town or the retail park crossing is a nightmare. They need more pedestrian crossings!
I booked a 2-night stay with breakfast and the on-line booking was accepted. Unknown to me however, was that major renovations were to start during my stay including the closure of all breakfast/dining facilities. I was not even told this when I checked in. Hotel should have been closed during such extensive renovation work; it was a building site.
Although there was renovation work being carried out it didn’t detract from our stay, our room was very good ,nice walk in shower ,all the usual facilities,tv ,desk tea, coffee etc etc .Staff were excellent , very friendly and so helpful,Callum was a hoot ,but professional at the same time ,it makes all the difference when you arrive at your venue and you are welcomed with a smile ,and a happy bunch of people looking after us ,we had a good choice at breakfast ,and in the evening we had a very enjoyable meal, and £25 a night for our room was so reasonable,I’m thinking that’s taking into consideration for the refurbishment, but it didn’t affect our stay at all ,and it’s in a good position just 5mile from the M1,very easy access for the accommodation,so we would stay here again when visiting Chesterfield for sure
The room was clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable, which made for a good night’s sleep. I did run into a small issue when entering the room, as the key instructions didn’t match the lock, so I had to go downstairs to ask for assistance. The receptionist was friendly and polite and the issue was sorted quickly, which I appreciated.
The bathroom was a bit disappointing, as the shower head had very few water holes, making showering quite slow,so I chose not to wash my hair as a result. The toilet reservoir was a bit slow to refill after flushing, which was a minor inconvenience.
Unfortunately, breakfast was the biggest downside. Mouldy bread was available for making toast. Although a staff member apologised and removed it when I pointed it out, it put me off having any baked items.
Overall, it’s a pleasant place for a one-night stay, but I wouldn’t opt for breakfast in the future due to this experience.
We had to visit Chesterfield as our Bulldog needed an op to open up his airways and there is a very highly regarded surgeon there and we needed to be nearby the night before and also the night of the surgery and the hotel knew about this and we can only say the staff were absolutely fantastic ( the surgery went well ) they could not have done any more if they had tried although there is refurb going on they gave us a room near a lift as there was risk during the night that we may need to get to the vet urgently but he wanted him to be with us we were 3 minutes away and he was on stand by . I can only thank the team so much for everything I spend over 150 nights away in hotels on business every year but this was a totally different set of requirements and they totally smashed it even letting us park right outside the door in case we needed to get to the vet urgently , offering us complimentary coffee when we were in the lobby awaiting calls from the vets at a very anxious time to constantly asking about him . Thank you so much to all of you.
Stayed here many times when up visiting family when it was Ibis. Just had a 4 night stay with the kids and couldn't fault it. Always bear in mind the price versus what you expect....and I'll be honest, I travel at lot with work and have stayed in hotels across the country that are three/four times the price and classed as budget and fall short. Thankfully the renovation work wasn't going off in full swing when we stayed but it is noted when booking. We had a family room on second floor that had just been renovated....smelt a bit "painty etc" but was expecting that due to the works. Bed was comfy and shower hot. We had breakfast and a meal on one night. Slow service but then it's not overly staffed and didn't mind as we were in no rush. All staff were friendly and couldn't help enough and housekeeping staff were always friendly, chatty and would always assist with any top up/cleaning requests.
Agree with other comments RE crossing the roundabout....but if you come out of the hotel and turn left then you can get the bridge over and adds a few more minutes to your journey....not Ideal for pedestrians but easily manageable. Couldn't fault it and back again in 9 days as I'll be doing another 650 mile round trip back to chessy for the football......why I don't know!
