Great place to stay in Charleston. Staff is fantastic especially Richard at front door
Wonderful location, and management does a great job doing what the can for guests.
They also offer umbrellas for daily use for those rainy days in Charleston.
The location is ideal, so centrally located with easy access to so many restaurants and shops. The rooms are on the smaller side, but location makes it worth it.
All staff has been super helpful. The most notable have been the valet guys out front that go beyond pulling up the cars. Seamus and Mark are superb. They have made several item runs for me to and from car and are fast! Bellman was also fantastic.
Our family had the most wonderful experience at The Renaissance hotel for our spring break. The hotel was beautiful and clean. The staff (shoutout to Richard at the front door!) was so kind and helpful. The location of the hotel is centrally located and walking distance to shopping, food, historical sites, etc. We will definitely return.
Mark our bellman was amazing! Honestly, everyone was was arrival until departure! Our favorite place to stay while in Charleston!
The service was exceptional! The bell hops/valets, MARK & Seamus wete particularly attentive and helpful. They thought of everything!!! Loved it here!
I recently stayed at the The Lindy Renaissance Charleston Hotel and had a wonderful experience. The location is perfect for exploring historic Charleston — everything is within easy walking distance.
What really made the stay special were the staff. Richard the bellman gave us a warm welcome and was incredibly helpful with luggage and local tips. Dana the Navigator/concierge was fantastic — knowledgeable, friendly, and full of great recommendations that made our trip even better.
Comfortable rooms, great atmosphere, and outstanding service. I’d absolutely stay here again!
Staff here is fabulous! I’m a former Marriott employee and we have been Marriott vacation club owners for over 20 years. We were very impressed with the people at this property! Navigator Dana Good contacted us before the visit and provided a wealth of information and got our requests for room type, location, and events logged. Tommy in the restaurant gave his insights on itinerary plans and helped pick perfect Charleston breakfasts every morning
Bed was great, room was clean. I did notice that the maintenance lags a little below usual Marriott standards. The shower tile in 503 needs to be re-tiled and whoever touched up the paint left paint chips and debris under the vanity. Toilet seat is crooked. These are not things that materially impacted our stay, but they are signs that standards have slipped since change of ownership.
I had a wonderful experience at The Lindy Hotel. The facility is exceptionally clean and well maintained, which immediately made a great impression. I also loved the thoughtful touches—especially the Starbucks coffee in the rooms, the wide range of food options in the café, and the inviting atmosphere of the bar area.
What truly sets this hotel apart, though, is the customer service. I’m in town for an important work conference and unfortunately left my packet of assessments and preparation materials at home. Eddie at the front desk went above and beyond—he quickly made copies of everything I needed and even printed a second set “just in case.” That level of attentiveness and care is rare these days.
I highly recommend The Lindy Hotel and would absolutely stay here again.
We stayed at the lindy last minute after our flight home from Boston was canceled. We arrived after a 6 hour drive from Florida and were immediately greeted by two amazing guys at valet, Brian and Brent. They were so courteous and helpful both upon our arrival and departure. They both went above and beyond for us, between helping with luggage and offering suggestions for dinner and things to do with kids in the area.
Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Mark, the valet was extremely nice and helpful getting our car and getting our bags moved around. Dana, the concierge, had excellent suggestions for meals and sites - 167Raw and The Charleston Museum, fyi - very helpful. Would definitely go back.
We are Titanium Marriott members- which means we have stayed at a lot of Marriotts. I do believe the brand itself is going downhill. I'll start with the positive. The lobby of the hotel is beautiful and the location was perfect! Restaurant was nice and the small cafe was very nice. That's where it positive begins and ends.
Horrible Service: It started off with a bait and switch with our room. We had paid for 1 room type (one of the highest room types if not highest) and I have requested in my app high floor and got a completely different one- a much less expensive one. The front desk did not mention at check in nor was the difference refunded. As one of the brands top status members I do have certain expectations. I get the room I paid for and I am not put in one of the worst rooms in the building- that is right next to a conference room where at 6:30am food service, employees, guests, etc are congregating outside my room. We arrived late due to a late flight and an early college tour the next morning so arguing with the front desk at 11pm was not happening. When I did approach the front desk the next morning I was given points for my troubles.
The Room- Needs updating! It is extremely dark. Being on the second floor there was no natural light due to buildings all around. The lamps were on a permanent dim setting. There are no working outlets near the bed so charging devices near the bed was not an option. The room felt like a holiday inn room with a boutique Marriott lobby and price. Choose one of the many other boutique hotels in the area and skip this one!
The Lindy was a great home while we visited Charleston. Dana was a fabulous concierge and really made our stay with her smiles, freebies and interactions with our baby! Having a taste of chef Vivian Howard right there was also extra special! The location is close to city market and king street shopping which made it even better!!! The daily protein bombs were a fantastic addition!
Fantastic stay. Phenomenal team!. Mr Richard and Perry take care of you immediately and the rest of the staff continue the excellent service. The coffee shop is top notch also.
Great long weekend for Valentines and my birthday! The hotel is well located and the staff was very friendly and accommodating! Mark was especially helpful!
I travel quite a bit for work and this is one the best hotels I’ve stayed at. The facilities were lovely and the staff was incredible! Brent and Richard in particular provided first rate hospitality. Every detail was seen to with true southern courtesy. Highly recommend
Great location in the heart of the shopping district of lower King Street. Our room was well stocked and clean. Everyone made us feel welcome from the moment we pulled up. Staff went out of their way to great my daughter and make her feel welcome from the beginning. Upon finding out we were celebrating her 5th birthday, they showered her with attention, treats, and special recommendations for how to spend her birthday. The bellhop, Mark, even delivered her a bouquet of suckers. The restaurant on location is superb!
The Lindy was well furnished and conveniently located to major tourist attractions in Charleston. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, especially Richard one of the bellmen. He was attentive and offered good recommendations of where to go.
We only stayed a night because of some winter weather, but I wish we could have stayed longer. The room was so quiet, even a block off King St, but also right in the middle of everything. Room service was the best I've had in recent memory. We even received a complimentary upgrade, unasked for (we'd booked two doubles, so it wasn't super exciting, but still very much appreciated). Looking forward to another chance to stay!
Great Marriott Hotel, Mark at Valet was very helpful and all the local sites and restaurants we were trying to find.
Wasn’t crazy about the service at Lenore, but everything with the motel was great
