Great stay - fantastic staff!
Pros:

I travel quite a bit for work and this is one the best hotels I’ve stayed at. The facilities were lovely and the staff was incredible! Brent and Richard in particular provided first rate hospitality. Every detail was seen to with true southern courtesy. Highly recommend

We will definitely be back!
Pros:

Great location in the heart of the shopping district of lower King Street. Our room was well stocked and clean. Everyone made us feel welcome from the moment we pulled up. Staff went out of their way to great my daughter and make her feel welcome from the beginning. Upon finding out we were celebrating her 5th birthday, they showered her with attention, treats, and special recommendations for how to spend her birthday. The bellhop, Mark, even delivered her a bouquet of suckers. The restaurant on location is superb!

STAY AT THE LINDY

Perfect location
Pros:

We only stayed a night because of some winter weather, but I wish we could have stayed longer. The room was so quiet, even a block off King St, but also right in the middle of everything. Room service was the best I've had in recent memory. We even received a complimentary upgrade, unasked for (we'd booked two doubles, so it wasn't super exciting, but still very much appreciated). Looking forward to another chance to stay!

Titanium loyal to Marriott
Pros:

Richard was one of the best employees during our 20 years as marriott members. We love marriott and are loyal to the company. Nice rooms and great location. Not impressed with cafe or restaurant. Therefore we went across the street to the Bohemian for maison cafe breakfast and drinks and appetizers. Im sorry to say....we would not use Dana for a concierge. Not personable or welcoming at all. Even 4 oclock drinks and snacks, which she served and saturday mimosas...we felt like we were a big inconvenience. Its very rare that i mention a negative review on Marriott employees. Richard made up for what Dana lacked in representing the marriott brand.

Nice Visit to Charleston SC
Pros:

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. It is nicely situated being a few minutes walk from Kings Street and Market Street. Plenty of good restaurants, bars and shops close by. The guest rooms are nicely appointed. The Concierge, Dana Good, was excellent. She listened to our dinner preferences and gave us several nice dinner options, we chose Muse Restaurant and Wine Bar which was 5 stars. We also had drinks and a snack in the hotel bar where we had great service.

All around pleasant experience!
Pros:

Great experience! This was directly contributed to Dana the concierge. She gave us great recommendations about the city regarding tours and sightseeing. We wanted to visit Magnolia Plantation and she set us up with transportation for the whole family. She also made us restaurant reservations. Some were fully booked and she worked her magic and got us a table. Lindy was great but Dana made it an exceptional experience! Thank you:)

Great location with ok room
Pros:

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel after we reset expectations. Pros: Location is great. Walkable to shopping, restaurants, historical sites. Public parking garage nearby. Very good fitness room and TV. Very nice lobby with fruit infused water and many seating areas, mainly for lounging. There were perks for certain marriott rewards levels, 2 free protein balls/day, 2 museum passes per stay, $15/day toward food at the hotel restaurants. Cons: No club lounge. No 24 hr coffee/tea in the lobby (there is a hotel coffee shop open for a portion of the day) No upgraded room offered at check in as a titanium member. Small rooms that were not as updated as the rest of the hotel. Bed comfort was just ok—Linens and comforter were not premium. Bathroom is tight and function was just ok— shower handle actually fell off while I was turning it. The hot water was touch and go and the towels were rough and scratchy. No good working area in the room. Pool was closed (which was fine by us but worth mentioning) Reason to stay here is for the location. If you are seeking a luxury experience all around, this is not it, but if your room expectations are not set to luxury, this hotel would be good.

Why the destination fee?
Pros:

Nice place, but can't go back. Now we have a destination fee, which spells greed, and what used to be a full breakfast turns out to be grab and go. Nice location, but Can't stand destination fee.

Comfortable Stay Near Downtown Charleston
Pros:

The Lindy Renaissance is a great option if you want to be close to the heart of Charleston while still enjoying a full-service hotel experience. The location is excellent (easy access to the city and major attractions) and the amenities included with the resort fee are a nice bonus, especially the free tickets to the Charleston Museum.

Our room was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was modern and well-appointed, which made the stay very pleasant overall. Valet staff truly stood out: they were friendly, helpful, and consistently kind throughout our stay.

The main downside was the breakfast service. It felt understaffed and slow (admittedly, it was Christmas Eve), and while the staff did ultimately redeem themselves, the initial experience wasn’t very accommodating. It wasn’t a deal-breaker, but it did take away slightly from an otherwise enjoyable stay.

Overall, a solid hotel with a great location and good amenities. I would recommend it and would consider staying again.

Top notch service!
Pros:

My mom and sister stayed at the Lindy for 4 days over the Christmas holiday. I called ahead to talk with the concierge (Lori Busch?) to see what I could do to enhance their stay. I told her about some recent family hardships and she was so empathetic, kind and helpful. She made great suggestions and even placed a personal note and gift in the room! It was more than any hotel, especially Marriott property, has ever done! And at no cost! My sister said the concierge (with her insight and kindness) set the tone for the entire trip. She also said the room was great, beds were super comfortable, location unbeatable and the restaurant was amazing. They also had Lori help them with some sightseeing trips. The trip far exceeded all of our expectations! (Thanks Lori!)

Excellent Place to Stay & Fabulous Employees at The Renaissance
Pros:

The Renaissance, Charleston, SC

Beautiful Marriott property in the center of all the action on King Street! The employees truly make your stay extra enjoyable. Mark, the bellman is personable, funny and extremely helpful not only with your luggage, but also with advice on places to dine. Brian, the valet is excellent with his timing in getting your vehicle and southern charm with holding your door. Brian gave us fabulous advice on where to go at Folly Beach and is a wealth of knowledge for the area. Rooms were clean, the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in, breakfast on the property was delicious and the perfect central location to explore all of Charleston and the surrounding beaches. Will definitely visit again!

Lovey Lindy!
Pros:

While in Charleston a few weeks ago, I stayed at the adorable Lindy Hotel located right in the heart of everything. The hotel had an exceptional location, right off of King Street, and allowed us to walk virtually everywhere. We were only in town for 25 hours so not too much to report on but here goes nothing!:

Pros:
- Coffee shop in lobby ("Handy and Hot” - no that is not a joke) had fantastic coffee and breakfast options. Went there each morning and loved everything I ordered!
- Hotel was super kind having a room ready when I arrived very early in the morning. The front desk staff also helped recommend things to do around town so I could be a tourist for the day!
- Lollipops available 24/7 (see photo)

Cons:
- Bathroom door and door to enter room back into each other. If you do not fully close/lock the bathroom door and try to enter the room, it’s a wholeeeee thing with the doors hitting each other and almost locking out

Recommendations:
- Change bathroom door to barn or pocket door

Loved this property minus the door debacle. I would love to stay here again in hopes that not every room has the door issue we had! Overall, great pick with perfect location for city of Charleston!
