I've never stayed in a hotel so bad. When we first got to our room, the room wasn't cleaned. Okay, it happens. Second room, had been "cleaned" but was very very dirty. We pull the couch/bed out, and there was a toothbrush and other debris in there - except, no mattress. Third room, not even passable, but we had no choice. Light fixtures missing bulbs. Bathroom light, missing 3 of 5 bulbs. A gap in the door, you could slide a deck of cards through. Absolutely awful. Walked over the Home 2 Suites and begged for a room. Had to stay one night (out of 4) in this place. Teenaged daughter cried at how disgusting this hotel is.
Great experience..clean rooms comfortable bed ,hot breakfast and polite helpful staff. They are pet friendly which is very important to me because I don't go anywhere without my dog. Definitely recommend it to my friends and I will stay here every time I'm in town.
I have to give this hotel a very mixed review. This hotel has seen better days, but our room was clean as well as the lobby/breakfast area. Let's start with the room. The bed was comfy, there were 5 small pillows on our King bed, and the towels were fluffy and big for a budget type hotel. However, the carpet was stained (not dirty, just stained), the shower wall was cracked, and the curtains had stains on them too. We slept fine, and had the things we needed including a refrigerator.
The pool felt great on a really hot day, but the surrounding area needed to be cleaned- cigarette butts and bottle caps on the ground. There are only two or three chairs- there's a chaise lounge that is missing it's cushion so it can't be used. There were no pool towels outside, but the front desk had some.
The breakfast was OK. Scrambled eggs and sausage. The waffle maker actually had good Texas shaped waffles though. There was bread and bagels for toasting. There was some yogurt but no fresh fruit.
I don't know if I'd return again- the construction traffic made arriving and departing more difficult but we didn't hear any construction noise. We got what we paid for but might look somewhere else next time.
Very convenient to I-30, but that comes with a steady hum of traffic sounds. Not bad, though, because it's flat and nobody is climbing hills. Property has some age but appears to have been refreshed fairly recently. Elevator is slow and creaky. Bedding was very comfortable and everything in the room was clean. Toilet seat was barely attached. One coffee cup and one plastic cup provided.
Were told that breakfast was 6-9, which for a Sunday morning seemed a bit early. When I first went down to get coffee at about 7, there were three sausages and old scrambled eggs in the chafing dish. Going back to eat at 8:15 the chafing dish was empty; front desk said the person to take care of that had just arrived. Returning at 8:45 there were sausage patties and freshly scrambled eggs. There were no plates so the eggs and sausage went into a bowl; that was serviceable.
The only cereal was Fruit Loops but there was no milk. No orange juice or other drinks. A few bread items were available; waffle iron appeared to work. Only fruit offered was apples and one orange, although I had seen people with bananas earlier. The fridge contained only butter packets, no yogurt or other offerings. And only two tables looked clean enough to want to eat at. In other words, worst "breakfast included" ever.
In sum, the physical and comfort side are pretty good, and the food service should be abandoned if they can't bring it up to standard.
I booked on Priceline and got a very low rate. I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were knowledgeable and very helpful. The manager was also very nice. The room was clean and as advertised. Breakfast was so/so. The standard continental fair with biscuits and sausage as the only warm item. Overall it was Excellent. I have no complaints. :)
Needed a stop over on way home from vacation. Hotel is very dirty, room smelled of smoke. Torn carpet. Filthy tub, and broken dresser. No hot breakfast. Would not stay here again. The one positive is the wonderful and friendly night desk person. She was great.
We checked in quickly for a two-night stay, dropping our bags and leaving to make an engagement. We arrived back at the hotel late, the toilet wouldn't flush well. We were moved to another room. The new room had been smoked in. We asked to be moved again and were told there were no more clean rooms. It was 11:00 at night. The clerk said we would have to go somewhere else. The night clerk refunded the next night's stay, but not the first. The night clerk assured me the manager would refund the first night’s stay and to call the next day to talk to the manager.
Next morning-- another clerk told me to call back the next day - she couldn’t help me, and the manager wouldn't be in so she took my information- again. Next day- the same clerk told me to call back saying on Monday the manager would be in. Monday the same clerk told me to call back the next day. Tuesday, the same clerk said the manager would be in the next day. Next-- Wednesday the SAME clerk told me that the manager wasn't in and probably wouldn't contact me one way or the other. I would have to be patient for a refund to eventually show up on my credit card. I called again on Thursday and was told the manager was out on vacation and wouldn't be back in until the next Monday saying they had my information and didn't need to take it again. The last time I called, the same clerk hung up on me. . To be clear—WE NEVER SPENT A SINGLE NIGHT AT THIS HOTEL.
The absolute worst case of customer service —and for a lousy 80 bucks!
Everything was in great shape and condition, very clean... peaceful the staff was great on helping with anything possible due to the snow storm we encountered..I would recommend for others to stay at that location because you actually have provicy
Great rates for a really nice room my wife and I enjoyed. Although under construction, the rooms were very compatible to our needs. I would recommend this hotel to any of my family, friends or co-workers.
We visited our daughter who is new to Rowlett and found this hotel conveniently within walking distance of her place. We were treated great by the staff day and evening. One night I went to get some food and drinks at the front desk "store" and a potential guest was berating the clerk and arguing pricing. The clerk never strayed from pleasant explanation and interaction...that was pretty impressive. There is a convenience store adjacent to the hotel as well as a food establishment. The whole area is such that you can easily see the lovely view of Lake Ray Hubbard.it is an easy ride across the bridge to Rock Wall, which is also a neat community. This will be our go-to hotel on future visits.
I was a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews but I went ahead and booked the room because it was near the hospital where my husband was having surgery. I'm glad I did. It was clean, comfortable, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. And I got a great price by booking directly with the hotel on line.
The rooms were nice and clean. Front desk customer service was excellent. Cheryl was there to make sure all my needs were meet. The front lobby and hallways were clean and a fresh clean smell. I would recommend a stay here any day!!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
There was a problem with the elevator, however they upgraded our room on the first floor to make up for it. The staff was very friendly and our room was very clean. We stayed 2 nights and it was very comfortable and enjoyable.
We checked in to the Comfort Inn and Suites on Saturday, Sept. 19th, 2020 about 4 p.m. As we drove up, the outside of the building is streaked with rust from the a/c units, paint is peeling and chipped, and the parking lot was littered with trash. Upon entering the lobby, the floor looked greasy. The front desk staff was very pleasant. We were given a room on the second floor. As we walked down the hall, we noticed bits and pieces of paper, and other debris on the carpet. When we got to our room, we noticed the door ajar. Pushing it open, we saw that our room wasn't ready, as the beds were stripped. We returned to the front desk. At this time, the desk clerk asked what rooms were ready, and she was told only the rooms on the first floor. We were given another room. During this time, I visited the lobby bathroom. It was filthy, as well. Greasy floor, streaks of who knows what on the walls, and the smell was overwhelming. Our trip to our second room was the same as the first, noticing that the hallway carpets needed vacuuming. Upon entering the room, we did a check for bed bugs, and didn't see any evidence. Our room was supposed to be two queen beds, and we had two full size. Luckily, there was a sleeper sofa, as we would need it. The sleeper sofa was in poor shape, and the frame was bent, but we managed to get it open. The room was clean enough, not perfect, but doable. The furniture was chipped and old, the desk chair was peeling to the point it was just the fabric, and looked terrible. The bathroom was old and dated, with paint and plaster peeling at the door jams. The bathtub was rusting in several places, and it looked like they tried to cover it up with spray paint. The shower curtain rod was hanging at an odd angle. We chose not to use the tub. We were surprised at the condition of this property, as we have stayed at several other Comfort Inns, and all have been above standards. I truly don't know how they pass inspection to maintain their branding. Won't be back to this one until it's renovated, or sold to new owners.
I booked this hotel for a Friday-Monday stay. I wasn't able to make it on Friday evening as I was running behind and had somewhere else to be overnight. I went to the hotel on Saturday morning and was told that my reservation had been cancelled because of a no-show. This was apparently in the fine print that I did not read. The room I wanted was unavailable to me at that time. I was given another room and everything worked out but I was very upset about this as I had just worked a 12 hour overnight shift and all I wanted was to go to my hotel and sleep. Instead, I spent an hour on the phone with customer service trying to figure out the no-show situation. My advice is this: read the find print before you reserve your stay. They will screw you with a no-show cancellation if you don't make it on the day you reserve it for and they WILL NOT CALL TO WARN YOU beforehand. Everything worked out in my case but I still recommend reading every detail of your reservation.
I checked into the Comfort Suites Lake Ray Hubbard on July 9th. After three nights, we found a COCKROACH in the bathroom. When I told the front desk about the incident, they asked “was it only one?” When I replied “yes, but I’m not comfortable staying anymore nights”, she offered no compensation or anything. The customer service was down right awful and yes, bugs happen, but I expected some sort of remorse or offer with a new room. Nothing. We were left to figure out a new hotel room, on the weekend mind you, and had to take time out of our vacation to do so. The hotel we had to go with was double the price.
Update:
After getting home from vacation, I have called Choice Brands and the hotel and they think reimbursing me for only one night (the night of finding the cockroach) is acceptable because it was only one cockroach.
Awful customer service and awful place to stay. BE AWARE.
We used this place to rest and get ready for a wedding, the service was good, the bed despite being very comfortable the breakfast excellent with fruit, assorted breads, juices, scrambled eggs, burger and cereals, you will serve yourself , in the rooms had iron and ironing board which made it easier for us to party,
We are traveling and decided to stop for the night. The front desk attendent was polite. However, as soon as we walked into the room, an awful musty/urine smell hit us. I checked the sheets & they looked clean. I put the baby down and sat next to her to rub her back. Brown bugs started to surround us and I got bit 3 times in a matter of seconds before I noticed them. My husband went to the bathroom, came out and said “pack up!”. The bathroom was unbelievable. Moldy large (think personal size watermelon) holes in the wall. Mold all over the shower. Dirty smear across the other wall. We left and were only in the room for about 10 minutes. The kids were crying about being itchy after laying in the bed and we quickly went to a clean hotel & showered. Very inconvenient at 1am!
The staff is professional, lazy, and not friendly at all.. The layout bed. was filthy and dirty and i would not sleep on mattress because of filth..They never accommodated us on room..I will never stay at this hotel ever not worth it
Rented the room to have my son and his girlfriend near by for festivities on Christmas morning. The front desk staff was quite rude but we managed. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. When checking out the front desk staff was extremely hospitable.
