Wonderful wedding day
Pros:

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the wonderful team at Tortworth for making our wedding day so special. We got married here on Valentine’s Day 2026, and from start to finish the care and attention we received were exceptional.

Throughout the entire process, from booking our wedding to the end of the big day, the team ensured everything ran smoothly. We felt completely supported and well looked after, and at no point did we feel stressed as everything was handled so professionally. Our family and friends were also treated with the same level of care and respect, which meant a great deal to us.

The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, and the food was fantastic. Even though the hotel remained open to other guests, we never felt overlooked and still enjoyed a wonderful sense of privacy for our celebration.

If you are considering Tortworth as your wedding venue, we would highly recommend it. Thank you to the entire team for making our wedding day so seamless, stress-free and truly unforgettable. We couldn’t have wished for a better experience

Comfortable stay, brilliant food!
Pros:

We stayed here for 1 night to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

We wanted a quite bolt hole to relax, unwind & get away from busy day to day life.

We chose a suit for added comfort & booked a table in the man restaurant for our evening meal & breakfast the following day.

Upon arrival we couldn’t help but notice how busy it was, we stayed on a Saturday night - which we thought it would be fairly busy, when we got there the car park was almost full, there was an entire wedding party blocking the entrance area waiting to go into the orangery for their evening reception & all the bars were full with no seats available.

We decided to check in and go straight to our room. Check in was efficient and friendly, our room was lovely and clean, lots of added comforts which we really appreciated.

A few hours later we headed back down to the main bar to grab a few drinks prior to our meal which again was full, we then went for a walk around the grounds which were beautiful and then headed back to the bar which we fell lucky as a couple were leaving as we arrived.

The bar had a nice atmosphere but it was extremely busy the staff were friendly but clearly could do with a few more on to help, after waiting 20mins we finally managed to get a drink a few hours on after arrival!

We then headed over to the restaurant as it was getting late and our time slot was here.

The restaurant was very busy again with lots of big groups, the service was good when we got it but it did seem that the larger parties were taking priority, we did wait a while before our order was taken, when it was the bread for the table came quickly but before our drinks even came, then the starters were also brought out at the same time.

The doors was delicious, it just felt a little rushed, the main was instant as soon as we finished the starters, again service for drinks were slow, we didn’t leave the restaurant until gone 9:30pm, we arrived at 3:30pm in 6hours we only managed to get 3 rounds of drinks for the two of us.

The hotel it’s self was beautiful on appearance, however we did feel a high level clean throughout was needed. The Roman blinds in the library bar were heavy in dust, lots of the higher books were coated in dust, most of the artificial large trees were also heavy in dust and some light fittings too.

The next morning we went down for breakfast to be greeted with yet another que… we waited well over 10mins to be seated then we were told to go into the bar and we could have the same buffet style breakfast in there.

We took the offere and was seated, it was very warm in there & there wasn’t a great deal of hot food left, this was around 10:00 breakfast is till 10:30 on a Saturday, we got a few things and sat back down, to then one of the staff members started turning everything off meaning we couldn’t have anymore or a long leisurely breakfast which we always look forward to when going away.

All in all we had a nice stay, if we were to return we would avoid a weekend day as it was far too busy for us and heavily over run with children, given the style of hotel we just anticipated a much calmer, slower break than what we had.

The staff were great though and made the best of what they could do and offer with limited staff and space in bar areas.

Leaf Spa massage
Pros:

I am a regular visitor of the Leaf spa at Tortworth and am always very impressed with how friendly and efficient the staff are. This week I had a massage with Laura- she listened to what I needed and managed to get rid of my knots and tightness. A fantastic massage that I would recommend.

Over and above ..
Pros:

Thanks again (I said it a few times when we were with you) for looking after us - an amazing weekend with 20 members of the Rose family gathering for our annual De Vere get away.

Attentive to so many things - the early morning cuppa after a dog walk, dietary needs and super smiley and efficient service.

Shout out to the Saturday night “waiting team”; Scott, Karen and Ethan who managed our table impeccably - you didn’t miss a beat and was staggered to hear you were a few “heads” down.

See you next year

Magical , Dream Wedding
Pros:

Well I writing on behalf of family and friends that attended Antonia and Zach's wedding on the 14th February.

Right from the beginning of the day to the end , the whole experience was faultless.

The venue is absolutely stunning as are the grounds .
Having the ceremony in the Orangery was the best decision they made , just absolutely exquisite.
The wedding breakfast in one of the rooms in Tortworth Court was absolutely amazing with plenty of room , between tables (not all crammed together)

The lady who played the harp has an amazing talent which absolutely set the ambience for the ceremony.

Every single member of staff looked after us and were very attentive to our requests, they were all friendly and it came across that they all enjoyed their jobs .

Glasses and plates were cleared as soon as the staff could see guests had finished.
Please say a massive Thank to all staff that worked that day.

The food was faultless and Antonia and Zach could not have made a better choice.
Many guests stayed for 2 nights and were very complimentary about the accommodation.

Lastly but not least a very sincere
Thank you to Elvis who had been given the
Task of lookng after the wedding party and guests.

He is exceptional at his profession and is a credit to Tortworth, nothing was too much trouble and it shone through that he absolutely enjoys his job.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Elvis the day was truly magical and you had a massive part in making the day so special.

Secondly to Dave the Toast Master , he is also a credit to your Establishment , nothing was too much trouble and made everyone feel comfortable.
Massive Thank you again, another member of staff that is a credit to your establishment.

All I can say is that Antonia and Zach were determined to have their wedding here and saved up for a year for it.

It was one of the best decisions they made, everyone is still talking about it 2 weeks later .

Beautiful Manor House with eye catching views within great location.
Pros:

Stunning historic grade II Manor House set within a beautiful arboretum.
The entire place has interesting visual character. Then entrance and reception area lead to The Library, The Atrium to enjoy drinks and 1853 Restaurant. Our room was an executive junior suite offering views over the land. Enjoyed lovely walks in the grounds. Dined in 1853 which had beautiful decor. Food was presented well. Breakfast was well set and fresh.
Staff all friendly.

Stunning Venue, but Let Down by Poor Maintenance
Pros:

We visited for the wedding fair and were immediately impressed by how stunning the venue is. However, we were disappointed by the standard of cleaning and general upkeep, especially as these were small, easy touch‑ups that should be maintained routinely.
For example, the bar in the Orangery had visible cobwebs, and the woodwork looked as though it needed re‑varnishing. The lamp posts inside the Orangery had noticeable scuffs—something that could be easily resolved with a quick coat of paint. The chairs, which are charged at £4.50 each, were in clear need of a thorough clean and refresh. Additionally, the roof of the Orangery had algae on it. While this may be cleaned in the summer months, you would expect it to be addressed prior to hosting a wedding fair, especially given that winter tends to be a quieter period—an ideal time for maintenance.
These issues might be overlooked at a budget venue; however, Tortworth Court is far from that. A venue that undoubtedly brings in significant revenue during peak wedding season should prioritise attention to detail. I would be very disappointed to notice these issues on my own wedding day.

Valentines Day Romantic Retreat
Pros:

Had a wonderful stay at this beautiful venue. Everybody at the hotel made the stay even more memorable by constantly going the extra mile. Specifically, Charlotte and Alex always had a smile on their face and made sure to check in with myself and my wife just in case we needed anything extra.

Would stay again :)

Absolutely incredible
Pros:

From start to finish, this hotel blew us away, we were visiting for the valentines weekend, and we were greeted by extremely friendly staff, beautiful building and grounds, and the room was beautiful!

The atrium bar is stunning! We enjoyed some lovely cocktails, before heading to the spa, which was so relaxing, lovely facilities.

But the evening dinner in the library restaurant, was impeccable! The service, how nothing was a problem, if I wanted another drink, seconds I’d have to wait, the waiting staff were the most attentive and polite I’ve ever experienced! And the food was just beautiful! Specifically the lamb main course was a real highlight! So romantic, handing us both a rose as we walking in to a beautifully decorated room, you can really tell care is taken.

Ending with a huge range for breakfast, buffet style but the kind where the food is of quality, and well cooked, which is rare for a buffet breakfast

Overall, we have already said we’re coming back, it’s our first stay and not our last! Thank you!

Amazing stay!
Pros:

I booked a stay at this beautiful hotel for my daughter’s 18th birthday. I upgraded the room to a suite and was not disappointed as it was stunning.
Every staff member that we dealt with was excellent and very professional but I’d like to give a special thank you to the lady on reception that checked us in and the 2 ladies that were exceptional and very accommodating that did our fantastic massage and facial.

The food was really lovely and the treatments were amazing.

There was also a very special touch when my daughter received birthday cards and chocolate wishing her a happy 18th Birthday. Thank you, it was very much appreciated.

We look forward to returning again.

Thank you.

A hidden gem....
Pros:

Third break at Tortworth Court and it didn't dissapoint. Beautiful building in lovely grounds.
Deluxe Courtyard rooms are nicely presented with very comfortable king size bed. Bathroom with walk in rainfall shower and plenty of hot water anytime of day or night.
Nice pool and although small a booking process stops it from getting too busy. Leaf Spa offers some wonderful treatments.
Food in the hotel restraunt is exceptional, beautifully cooked and first class quality as also is the buffet breakfast where everything you could want is available.
All staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful.
It's a lovely hidden oasis in which to enjoy a very relaxing break.

An absolute must
Pros:

I booked this for a valentine's weekend away for my husband and I. Such a beautiful and impressive hotel in stunning gardens. It was a very busy weekend for the hotel with a wedding also in progress.

I can't praise the hotel and staff enough. We had the valentine's taster menu in the Orangery which was stunning. The food was faultless with paired wines with each course. The following evening we were in the restaurant and again could not fault the quality. An amazing ribeye steak.

I used to work for a company of county lifestyle magazine and I've done countless food reviews over the years. This is by far rated top of the list. The staff were very natural and engaging, nothing was too much trouble.

We will definitely be returning. Thank you Tortworth. Your staff were amazing

A perfect weekend away
Pros:

Booked the weekend as a surprise trip for my partner. Safe to say that the experience exceeded both of our expectations.

The Court is situated in a ideal location to get some peace and quiet which is exactly what we were after. The stunning architecture and gothic atmosphere was breathtaking when we first arrived and never failed to draw our attention when walking around the grounds.

The Courtyard Deluxe Room was our home for the weekend and it was far from average. I had purchased the Valentines Day upgrade for a reasonable price and was able to enhance the surprise with a delicate romantic layout. Rose petals, a selection of chocolates, a bottle of Prosecco, a hand-written card, and plenty more in addition that made our weekend extra special.

I booked the Four Course Meal and Wine Experience for Valentines evening, the overall menu and paring was perfect. Alex, our host, was extremely helpful and ensured we did not miss out on anything we wanted. The whole experience in the Orangery was a truly remarkable memory that we will hold for a lifetime.

We also had Bottomless Afternoon Tea, which included an assortment of delicious food ranging from freshly baked scones to refreshing finger sandwiches. My partner and I opted for bottomless Aperol Spritz and that was exactly what we were given, enough to make us tipsy to our hearts content. Great value for what we were given.

Breakfast was included in our stay, the self-service buffet style was perfect for us as we were able to enjoy a variety of foods, hot and cold, as well as a plethora of beverages to choose from. Being able to control what we fancied more or less of was definitely the winner at breakfast. Not to mention the regal setting in which we were able to dine in.

Most importantly, I cannot begin to thank the staff enough. From the overall cleanliness of the building maintained by the cleaning crew, to the consistent high level of service provided by the staff behind the desk and the bar, and the staff serving us at each meal as well as the skilled chefs who prepared it all. You have all outdone yourselves and deserve the recognition.

You shall certainly see us again in the future!

103.

Lovely meal and stay
Pros:

My husband and I went to the valentines meal in the orangier on the 14th feb it really was outstanding.
The room was so pretty with a red rose on every table
We couldn’t fault the food at all it was amazing beyond our expectations
The staff were all so friendly and catered for your every whim pulling out the ladies chairs putting their napkins on their laps
Wine was included in the meal again we couldn’t fault it and our water glasses were always full as well
We also stayed over night in the main house it was warm and welcoming again the staff were lovely
The room wasn’t perfect but it’s a very old house so there is going to be a bit dust it was quirky which we love and had a lovely view over the garden
The only thing I would say is for us as oldies it would have been nice to have some instructors on how to use the shower but we got there in the end
We both had a very enjoyable stay and will be going back again soon
