Fantastic hotel that deserves 5*
Pros:

amazingly helpful staff Great pool, very comfortable room and bathroom, great location

Cons:

Aircon in the passages didn't work properly. "soundproof"might be applicable for the walls but not the passage and floor above you .
Had to get the coffee machine in the rooms exchanged for times before we got a working unit

Expat doing a staycation for a night to do a brunch on JBR.
Pros:

The breakfast buffet is worth the money. It had just about everything. I do not remember seeing any pork products, but that is not unusual for Dubai. The hotel fronts on the main tourist beach and has a very nice pool. The JBR strip pretty much ends near the Sheraton, so you need travel only one direction to find almost anything on the main Dubai tourist beach. I lived on JBR for years. I knew exactly what I was getting when I chose the Sheraton JBR.

Cons:

The only thing that was not up to par was the pillows. There were a lot of them, but there are a lot of pieces of cheese in a pack, too. Stacking a lot of flat things only gets you somethiing that's still pretty much flat.
