Pros:

The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and quiet. The rooms were a good size and comfortable. Liked the full size toiletries in the bathroom. The breakfast choices were excellent. The cinnamon rolls were so delicious!

Clean, comfortable, and great bed!
Pros:

Really liked the cheese omelet! Could have salsa for the eggs, but otherwise it was fine. Of course the cinnamon rolls are "the bomb"! Also, the room was very clean and the sheets are so smooth...heavenly! Also, front desk, Karen, was great!

Cons:

We liked pretty much everything! Would appreciate a complementary bottle of water like the Hampton does! 😉 We had to buy ours at your hotel for $2.00 a bottle.

In the end, the warmth of the staff made this stay truly memorable.
Pros:

The property did not disappoint. It was clean, well maintained, and an excellent value for the money. What truly made the stay exceptional, though, was the staff. I don’t know if it’s an Iowa thing, but everyone we interacted with was outstanding. From the gentleman who handled the breakfast service to every front desk clerk and the friendly, efficient housekeeping team, the staff made all the difference. Amazing service and genuinely warm, welcoming people.

Cons:

If I had to point out anything, it would be the window in our room. It could use another round of weather-stripping, as it tended to whistle when the wind picked up. It wasn’t a major issue, just something that stood out in an otherwise excellent stay.

Beautiful people and property, needs more sidewalks
Pros:

Very clean beautiful facilities and the rooms were clean and nice. Check in was nice and they even kept items (cupcakes for a wedding) in their fridge for me. Breakfast had oatmeal and the staff was wonderful.

Cons:

Hard to run outside, wish the location had more around it. There weren’t really any sidewalks to run on. They do have a small gym but I wanted to be outside.

If I were in the Ames area again, I would definitely consider staying at this Holiday Inn.
Pros:

My room was very comfortable, both the bed and the chair. Also, the shower was easy to get in and out of and had good water pressure. The staff was friendly and welcoming, especially Dakota at the front desk and Larry and Fabiola in the breakfast room.

Cons:

There was a nice selection of items on the breakfast buffet, but the hot items were not as hot as I would’ve liked. Some of them ranged from lukewarm to cold.
