A great night stay in a classic Route 66 motel
Pros:

From the start as you walk in you feel the warmth. The front desk is smiling and cheerful. The is an older motel on route 66 that is well cared for. My room was clean and cool when I walked in. There was nothing bad to say about it. As for the comments about trains, Yes they pass regularly but I like trains so no problem for me. Anyone looking at a map of the area would know about the trains so if you don't like the noise don't book here. Glad I decided to stay here and would stay again when in the area.

Older motel nicely updated
Pros:

The BW Pony Soldier is a very nice updated property. Rooms always clean and outside well maintained.
The pool is beautiful but in the summer not really usable as the sun makes the pool area VERY hot.
Br e akfast room is across the driveway and very large. Appreciate there is always fresh fruit and yogurt

Amazing Service!
Pros:

My brother was dogsitting while I took his wife to surgery. A staff member became aware that coffee wasn't available before I left, so someone delivered a cup of coffee to our room as a wonderful surprise! Above & beyond here at the Pony Soldier Inn!

Great room to relax.
Pros:

The "suite" had 2 full bathrooms that made it easier to get ready for 2 people and to get up in the night simultaneously to go to the bathroom. it also had a table that could be used for a carry out dinner or to play cards. The breakfast was much better than most with good hot foods. The bed was firm but comfortable, just like I like it. Altogether a great experience.

Pros:

We liked the location and love staying at best western for the fun family swimming

Cons:

The elevator was broken I had heavy bags and no one to help me, was quite the workout I wasn’t expecting, and the heater was broken at the pool

Great location for a site seeing stay
Pros:

This Best Western is in a great location for doing all the site seeing in the area. Easy access and close enough to walk to a really good local restaurant Miz Zips. The food was amazing there.

Long Weekend in Flag
Pros:

This had to have been one of the most disappointing experiences I have ever had with BW and I am a diamond select member, so top tier, spend a lot of nights and money with the brand. Given that I had booked with Priceline because it was significantly cheaper, the property didn't give me any acknowledgement when I mentioned I was a DS member, in fact the front desk staff were both super rude. This hotel might look nice on the outside, but the room I stayed in was run down, the shower title was broken and the shower head didn't line up, leaving a large hole, which is tacky. The linens were old and super thin and dingy, didn't look white, more greyish. It seems when hotels are not managed correctly, it shows. Another great example of unhappy staff is listening to the breakfast staff complain about management and how they never provide enough support. When I spoke to the women I asked them if this was the norm and you could tell by their look it was, how sad. Also, stayed 3 nights and no housekeeping, not even light.

Sadly I will not stay at this property ever again, Flag has too many other great options all close by.
