I thought parking was included (vs available), so I was surprised by the onsite expense + it’s being almost double the cost of a local garage. We willingly paid it, but that would have been a factor in selecting the hotel that I would have liked to consider.
The Ryder Hotel was the perfect choice for our girls trip! From the moment we arrived, the decor stood out—it has such a fun, stylish vibe that’s both modern and welcoming, with every space feeling thoughtfully designed.
The rooms were clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, making them the perfect place to relax after a day exploring Charleston. The pool was one of our favorite spots, with a great atmosphere that made it easy to spend hours lounging and enjoying the sunshine.
The food and cocktails were outstanding. Every meal we had was delicious, and the drinks were creative, well-made, and definitely worth ordering. Whether we were grabbing breakfast, lunch, or evening cocktails, everything exceeded our expectations.
Overall, The Ryder Hotel made our girls trip unforgettable. Between the beautiful rooms, amazing food and drinks, fun pool, and gorgeous decor, it’s a place we’d absolutely stay at again and highly recommend to anyone visiting Charleston.
If you’re planning a girls’ trip, stop looking… you’re in the right place!
The second we walked in, we were greeted by the GM, Rachael, with a glass of white sangria?? Honestly, we knew we were in the right place. She told us all about the hotel and made us feel like VIPs from the very beginning.
We headed straight to the pool for cocktails and a bite to eat. The food was great, but the cocktails were even better. The staff was so friendly and fun to talk to. They genuinely made us feel welcomed and taken care of the entire stay. Also, I have to mention the pool chairs because they were hands down the most comfortable chairs I’ve ever lounged in. Perfect for a poolside nap after a few too many piña coladas, if you know what I’m saying.
The room was beautiful, spacious, and super aesthetic. The beds were unbelievably comfortable… we slept like babies.
And the Dot Cake latte? She was the star of the show. Don’t skip the coffee bar.
One of my favorite details was the shop on-site where you could rent longboards, coolers, cameras, bags, and other beach essentials. Such a fun touch!
The decor was so cute, the vibe was amazing, and every little detail made the whole experience feel special.
This hotel absolutely made our trip. So don’t make life harder than it needs to be… book the hotel, bring your girls, drink by the pool, eat the good food, order the piña coladas, and just be happy. Honestly, what more could you need? We’ll definitely be back!
The property and pool are amazing, go we’re not enough chairs at the pool. The large lounges are amazing but would be much better with pool chairs and more of them! We had a great time, but that was the only negative !!!
Coffee shop and robe in room
Location of my room, no space at the pool, half eaten food left in the refrigerator, robe hook fell off wall hit me in the head, bathroom outlet came out of the wall, spoke with to other guest that both saw roaches on the 2nd floor
This hotel was horrible! Dated furniture, filthy seats in the restaurant, service staff that could not care less, and the room was a dated mess. The bathroom had broken hardware, the bedroom window curtain remained closed as we looked right into the bar and they looked in on us! The hallway noise was at a all-time high, and the lobby is hard to find! Go through the coffee shop, and through a dark hall to get to a new girl who did not have a clue on how to check us in. The pool was dirty, as were the pool furniture. DO NOT waste your money!!
I visited friends who had booked the hotel. If you want kitschy boutique style hotel this would be a good find. The rooms with a balcony are much larger and have a great view. The bar/lounge area seems really cute and relaxing. It is an old building and very oddly designed to get to the 4th floor. . The lobby is very tiny and I am not sure about the restaurant. Kind of reminded me of something you would expect more in NYC then downtown Charleston
Location
Thermostat kept setting to 75 even after we set it to 64 the room was hot all night and the bathroom vent did not work so the room would get even hotter. Could hear the garbage truck every day so it would wake you up early. And the parking for the hotel was 58 dollars a day if im staying at a hotel why would i pay extra for parking just to have someone bring me my car. And the elevator next to pur room would bring us down so we can get going but when we tried to go up we couldn’t because we needed another key card they should have it labeled for associates only if thats the case
Great location. Really nice style and decor.
Expensive parking.
This was such a gorgeous and thoughtfully designed hotel. The pool was amazing, the room was perfect, I loved the restaurant. Perfect for solo relaxation and a bit of work the next day!
So fun! Pool awesome and great location!
It has a very cute look. I think the best park of the hotel by far was the garage where you could borrow chairs and towels for the beach. The valet was quick and really nice to interact with!
The pool area looks a lot larger in photos, not one time in our stay were we able to swim in the pool or use the lounge chairs because it was busy open to close. There’s a 2 hour maximum time on the loungers and I don’t think it was enforced. Additionally, we had to walk through welding sparks or something to get to our room because they were reinstalling new locks to all the doors when we arrived. The elevators are small and not marked, there is really only one that you can use to get anywhere and it was on the opposite side of the floor so going anywhere was like a two minute walk just to the elevator
Nice pool area and comfy bed, central location
Overrated hotel, very expensive but average hotel room (e.G. towel rail was falling off, safe was broken and no replacement during our stay), barista was nice but sometimes you had to queue and wait long and it was open to the public, unengaged reception staff
I stayed at The Ryder for a few days as a solo female traveler and had such a great experience. The hotel is really chic, stylish, and has a fun vibe without feeling over the top. It’s also in a great location for exploring Charleston.
The pool area was definitely a highlight. It filled up pretty quickly during the day, but it had a really social atmosphere and I actually ended up meeting a lot of people there. Since I stayed during the week, it felt much more relaxed than I imagine it would be on a busy weekend, which I loved.
As someone traveling alone, I felt completely comfortable and safe throughout my stay. The hotel had a welcoming energy, and it was easy to strike up conversations or just relax on my own depending on my mood.
If you’re looking for a trendy hotel with a great pool scene and a fun but laid-back atmosphere, I’d definitely recommend The Ryder. I would absolutely stay there again on my next trip to Charleston.
It’s pretty
Rude about the welcome drink could never find a place by the pool because they sell day passes
We had a wonderful stay at The Ryder Hotel in Charleston! The entire staff was friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. A special shoutout to Clayton, the bellman, who was incredibly helpful and personable. The atmosphere was fun and relaxing, and the drinks were fantastic. Great location, great service, and a great overall experience. We would definitely stay here again!
