The hotel was under heavy reconstruction, scaffolding everywhere, dust and noise since 8.30 in the morning- they worked

The staff was really professional and very polite - trying to be helpful despite the situation. Breakfast was excellent - breakfast lady really nice

In my opinion, the hotel should not have been open to public.
Pros:

The room was comfortable and clean and nice view. Location was great for catching the ferry the next day. The receptionist was nice and answered my questions.

Cons:

The state of the hotel was like a building site. There was scaffolding everywhere. There was no pool, no cafe, no bar. No facilities to use at all. There was rubble everywhere from the building work.

Friendly staff, but disappointing experience
Pros:

Friendly and welcoming staff, who apologised for the disappointment of arriving at a hotel covered in scaffolding, without this being advertised on booking.com, nor given any reduced price (rather the opposite). Breakfast had great selection.

Cons:

Rather disappointing to arrive at a hotel covered in scaffolding when expected a nice looking hotel with great views, and where most of the "extra" things were closed, such as the pool area (including bar etc.). This disappointment is mainly to be blamed at booking.com, who had not updated anything despite several enquiries from the hotel. The room I was given only had a rather sad view and gave the impression of staying in a construction site.

Cons:

We checked in at the hotel, having booked a room in advance on Booking.com, but no one warned us that there was a full-scale construction going on at the hotel and the pool with a bar was closed. The only thing they offered in exchange for the inconvenience was one free breakfast (we had a room booked for 5 nights). The impressions were a little negative.
