The Westin Poinsett, Greenville

Very convenient location. We booked a king room. Bathroom very small with only one sink and no fan. The pillows are the cheap polyfil instead of down pillows, which was surprising at this price point. I asked the front desk if they had any down pillows, but they did not, and acted like they had never heard of a down pillow. The towels were also thinner and smaller than expected at this price point.We usually stay at Hiltons, so maybe this is a Marriott thing?

We had a great experience with the Westin Poinsett, even though we didn’t end up staying! Our power went out, and Jeff, the Front Office Supervisor, was incredibly responsive and quickly arranged adjoining rooms for us. When our power came back on at the last minute, he graciously cancelled our reservation. Excellent customer service from Jeff—we’ll definitely keep the Westin Poinsett in mind for future stays!

Check in with Maggie/marjorie was amazing. The southern hospitality and ability to accommodate me several hours in advance was amazing.

I always enjoy the "0ld World Charm" of the Poinsett (will miss it when it is sold) but especially the staff, begining with the young lady at reception from Mexico City: such delightful savoir faire- how gentil could one be? The young dark haired male bartender was terrific & so enjoyable (perhaps a UK or Irish accent???.) The tone is set by the bellmen, who are pros & your frontline ambassadors, beginning with "my friend," the NCA&T alum, & this visit Jimmy. Jimmy went above & beyond the call of service. As we were leaving, I could not find my house keys anywhere in the room or car. At valet parkingI I told Jimmy, & he volunteered to go back up to the room & look himself. I knew it would be fruitless but in no time flat he returned with the keys which were lurking in dark corner of a drawer that I don't even remember using! THANKS AGAIN,, JIMMY, & to all your superb staff. They made our stay a real pleasure. The Whited

Enjoyed the Westin Poinsett for the first time. We've stayed at a number of other hotels in Greenville in the past but this was our first time at the Westin. Probably won't be the last. Historic hotel built in 1925 and the ambiance had a refined elegance to it. Lovely lounge and piano bar. Room was nice. Staff were very cordial, professional and competent. Kudo's to the staff for retuning a piece on valuable and sentimental jewelry left in the room. We realized the piece was left a couple hours after we checked out. Called and asked if they could go to the room, check with housekeeping, etc. and find it. They did! We were still in the area so we went back to pick it up. Many thanks to Jay and the rest of the staff in finding and returning the piece. We were very pleased and grateful. Exceptional service! Thank you!!

We have had a fabulous experience with The Westin Poinsett! I book this hotel weekly for one of our traveling physicians, and they have been nothing but accommodating. Jeff Curtis, specifically, has been fabulous to work with. Thank you!

Best Location in Greenville

This hotel rocks and I gotta say that Scott the chef is the best!!! He made the perfect most perfect Caesar salad with grilled salmon on top that ever had in my life and I ate it twice today because of that! Scott is a kitchen god!

Let me first say that I have stayed in this beautifully restored hotel every year that I have been able to return home for a visit. This would probably be around 6 times over the course of 10 years. The garage parking for $7 a day is a wonderful perk, however there is NO handicapped entrance from the back of the hotel in any form. I have had to take my luggage up and down a series of steep steps and then go past the gym to the elevators. I have noticed that you can go directly to your room without any kind of security stop or card requirement. In addition, this lovely hotel is in need of a makeover. I have stayed in the same room every time i have been there, and the staff has been so gracious to give it to me, however the size of the television was disappointingly small and everything else was the same. I am hopeful that these items might be addressed and i will continue to stay there. Just needs some TLC.

I stayed at the hotel the weekend of June 12, 2026. There was an issue with our reservation that was not the Hotel’s fault. We were thankful to have Olga check us in as she handled it without any hassle, pure professionalism, and kindness.
We were happy that the hotel included a small bar that we could visit for going to our room each night. Our first evening Melvin was tending bar. He was very personable and a real delight to chat with. It was a quiet evening.
The second evening there were two very big wedding parties. This was a small physical bar area that had room to sit, but you had to go to the bar to order. That evening, Angie was making the drinks by herself with Melvin’s backup support. I was amazed at how she handled that crowd, which was demanding with such ease. She was delightful to everyone and kept the drinks flowing. As a former bartender, I was very impressed.
