Great quiet location.
No AC which I know but the blind that would help with airing and cooling did not open a close, so the room became too especially after running the shower!! Lack of USB sockets that I have mentioned many, many, many times before!!! Came down for breakfast at 0945am, all was well until 1010 when one of the staff started to clear the breakfast table !! I said I have not finished and why are you clearing the table, the answer was ‘because’ before he sloped away after touching the glass of water I had been drinking, why???? Should be allowed to finish breakfast and step away from the table IMO!!
Lovely hotel. Staff are great. Food is fabulous. Location spot on.
Room too hot, fan not powerful enough.
Saturday a Wedding was on and the really loud disco and peoples loud chatter went on very late making it hard to sleep.
Good location, nice building and pleasant staff
We were put in a top floor room (attic style) which in the summer heat was unbearably hot and this meant we could not sleep. The room had no bedside lights and a bath in the room.
We stayed for 3 nights and had breakfast once, I think that says it all really.
The bed as it was like sleeping on soft foam with cotton wool pillows.
My wife and myself stopped for 4 nights at the end of July on a room only basis as we were spending some mornings with family. Breakfast was a bit more expensive paying an a day to day basis than if we had booked in advance but that was our decision. The breakfast was good value even at the higher rate. A good selection and lovely food (hot and cold options), with the full English, eggs Benedict etc being made to order.
As others have said it was a bit strange having to pick your milk up at reception as there was no refrigerator in the room but it was still better than those little UHT milk sachets you get in most places.
Room was very hot even with the window open but that the fault of the weather and not the hotel. The use of the fan (provided by the hotel) was a welcome addition and did the job well.
Parking - seemed a bit odd having to pay extra but that seems quite common in the area and this was one of the cheapest at £10 per night. We were a bit concerned that we couldn't pre-book but there were plenty of spaces available and it wasn't a problem.
A great location just a short walk from the town and a great view over the bay for the firework display on the Friday.
Yes - we would stay again.
The whole ambiance
Blind, coming off the runner, TV sound very tinny, noise from above and below the room, sofa not comfortable at all and feathers coming out of it.
The room was lovely
Clean nice bed & bath. No aircon but provided with a fan.
Nice coffee machine.
My husband liked the popcorn & jelly beans.
7 minute walk down hill to beach.
The food in the restaurant in MY opinion was not great. I know they have 2 aa rosette but it was just mediocre food on the set menu. The quality was poor grey fish in the fish & chip option .....yuk
Come on you are by the sea ....serve some beautiful white flakey cod! Can't be hard!
Warm rice pudding with ice cold sorbet....strange.
Room was perfect and a relaxing place to return to.
Staff at breakfast were always very welcoming and helpful.
Evening meal expensive for portion size.
The location was idea and quiet, and not too far from the buzz of Bournemouth seafront. The hotel was very spacious and generous, all areas accessible and the life even went down to the rear car park - a real help with our luggage. Room names not numbers and a door key not card. didn’t dine but the breakfast was ample, nice bar, staff and facilities. Will very much consider if returning.
I stayed for a week and was very comfortable here. The breakfast was tasty. I ate in the restaurant one evening and that was very good too. I arrived by train and got a weekly ticket for the buses which I used extensively. There were bus stops very close to the hotel with regular services.
Nice building in central location, 10 minutes walk from The Pavilion and sea front.
The night concierge was extremely unhelpful and reluctant to help resolve a few issues that we had.
Very helpful reception staff supplied us with another fan during the hot spell. Lovely room nice and quiet. Fabulous breakfast.
First - lovely staff - very professional and helpful - especially the restaurant staff and receptionists. But…… we were ‘upgraded’ - in this instance meant a room at the top floor of the hotel - no air conditioning and noticeably hotter than downstairs. This made sleeping challenging so eventually used our own fan to try to cool down the room.
£10 to park each day??? Why? I’m disabled but still needed to pay. Poor!
Plugs in room limited so needed to boil kettle on floor. and… a bath in the room in a bay window. Who in their right mind situates a bath there? Strange! Sink made of granite which had fissures in the bowl and looked very black and unhygienic.
Food was lovely but the set menu didn’t change much. My family came to visit and we wanted to eat out so asked if we could have a refund for the evening meal (we’d booked half board) we weren’t having but they couldn’t do this as we’d booked through Hotels.com.
So whilst the staff were really lovely, I couldn’t recommend it unfortunately- mainly for lack of ac, (summer stays) the quirky bedroom and no pool which could have helped make the stay better (but tbh we did know that when we booked).
Absolutely loved my stay of 6 nights at The Green House, Bournemouth. First time in Bournemouth, for a training course. I will be back to stay in The Green House for sure!
9/10 - slightly unfair as it was purely down to no AC and we were in the spell of Heatwaves. However there was a fan available.
Staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. My room - Wild Pear - was fabulous with a roll top bath! Toiletries provided were fabulous. And the breakfast was amazing. Made fresh to order. Close to the beach and the pier. Thank you for a great experience & hope to see you soon 😊
