There are 5 things on my list required for a great stay 1)location to what I'm in town for 2) a great mattress 3) a hot shower 4) a Smart TV and 5) personable but professional staff.
Bally's scored excellent on 3 of the 5 (location to LSU Tiger Stadium and the river, a great mattress, and personable staff, except for 1 young black girl at checkin...no smile, no welcome, and few words)
However, the shower never got hot, only lukewarm at best in spite of running for 20 min on 4 occasions (Room 227; the sink water was hot!)) i called front desk and was told how to turn the faucet on!! Also, the TV in the bedroom area would default randomly, 2-3 x/hr when changing the channel to a solid blue screen with arrow in the middle; nothing on remote corrected it; but would correct with no logical explanation. The TV in the sitting area worked fine.
Of note, the hotel became impossible to access by the normal routes for about 2 1/2 hrs after the LSU game ended that night due to massive traffic as usual and blocked streets. Might have been helpful for signage in hotel lobby, TV, or at desk to alert guests of alternate routes (St phillip St became 1 way in the opposite direction from usual...we could have come from another way.
Extra kudos to the valet staff Marquez (sp?) and the black woman with shoulder length hair....both were MOST helpful and courteous.
We booked this property bc we were going to the LSU game. When I booked I did not know hotel property wasn’t completed. So there is no casino, restaurant, etc.
Staff is doing the best they can in the conditions so it’s not the staff.
Then, when it was time to come home from the game, all roads to hotel were blocked off by police. (Which isn’t the hotel’s fault). We had to wait 45 minutes in order to get back to hotel. Thus, if you’re going to LSU game, this is NOT your hotel.
I wish them well. It seems like will be really nice once the complex is done
Stayed one night at Bally's and everything was fantastic. The staff was helpful and friendly, especially the Valet attendants! Room was nice and clean. Love the exposed brick. The only negative would be the ongoing construction around the area and at the hotel, but that's a minor inconvenience. I would definitely stay again.
Such a beautiful room
Great property and prompt staff
Valet attendants were lovely, check in was quick. Room was super clean! It was obvious they had mopped before my arrival! There is a self-park garage that would have saved me the valet cost but I struggled to find the entrance with construction around.
I enjoyed my stay! Clean property and professional staff!
Parking is not convenient. It is around the block so prepared to hall your luggage unless you want to pay $30 per day for valet.
I tried to plug my laptop into the outlet near the table in the room the outlet did not work.
No free hot coffee, a cup of community coffee, black drip coffee is 3.50. The coffee in the room did not come with creamer, sugar stirring straw. I went down to get those things and they told me they would bring them up. I waited 30 minutes and had to call and remind the desk the desk had to bring it to me. I was disappointed because the coffee in the room tasted like hot cardboard. The bathroom does not have a vent. The bathroom door is a sliding barndoor.. It does not offer 100% privacy and also allows noises to escape. It is heavy and on the inside of the door, there’s barely any kind of handle to close the door. The staff seem generally uninterested to be there. I do not recommend.
Really enjoyed my stay here during a game weekend at LSU. Yes, the casino is still in construction but my room was fantastic and the best I had during a long trip across the South. Staff were super friendly and helpful. There is a shuttle bus to the sister casino to access amenities if you need them. I used the valet to park which could have been quicker but everyone was really nice and helpful. I got an uber up to campus which took 10mins. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
Beautiful hotel. Beds very comfortable. Rooms large. Great security measures. Great large window with view of stadium. HUGE Cons-Not the area to stay in after an LSU game. Due to the hotel not telling us they didn’t have regular parking lot (only valet services) combined with contra flow, we missed the hotel entrance and had to drive miles away because every single street is blocked by the cops. It took us an hour to get back to the hotel. We drove in circles and could not access the hotel which was on a one way street. We had to wait for contra flow to end! Total mess. Never more frustrated about getting to a hotel. I would stay away from ANY downtown hotels after an LSU game bc of contra flow. Other cons were no fridge in room and the bathroom was a sliding door which left a large 1.5” crack so you could hear and smell anything going on in the bathroom.
They only clean rooms after staying for over 3 nights. Hotel seemed like they were short of staff. The valet's were the most helpful team members. The stay wasn't bad but we have had better in the same price range.
Casino not onsite due to construction. Didn't even get to gamble!!!
What a joke! We have to pay $36 valet when we’re staying at the hotel! Plus we tried to walk to the casino which was a very long walk outside in a sketchy area at night and the signs were terrible! All to get there to grab a bite to eat with NO food options!
Everything
The valet was a great setup. I attended the LSU game and this stay was within a mile. We took an Uber from the hotel.
Casino
The staff was amazing, especially Mrs Rhonda she went out of her way to make our stay amazing. I’ll definitely stay at Bally’s again because of the staff!
I enjoyed staying at Ballys check in process was very quick staff was friendly Room was clean I will stay here again!
The room was perfect. Only complaint is that there are no refrigerators in the room.
Under construction. Had to walk on the ghetto streets. No dinning
