What a beautiful gem of a hotel! You cannot go wrong with staying here. Wonderful service. Everyone is warm, helpful, and friendly. Just a short walk from the Medina. Great restaurant and bar (stays open late). I saw reviews about the construction but it was a non-issue! I highly recommend is place if you are in Essaouria.
What kind of five star hotel doesn't let you charge your bar bill to your room? Had to pay for bar and restaurant drinks (separately) in cash. Very inconvenient!
Well firstly I don’t think all the negative views are warranted - the hotel is lovely not as bad as some people say !
The only thing that let this hotel down for us was that the indoor pool was being upgraded - such a pity they don’t do that in summer when hot and have outdoor pool as we were here in December and weather not great so we booked hotel based on having an indoor pool for a swim each day so that was the biggest disappointment
Location - superb right on the beach front and if have a sea view room spectacular views which made the trip as lovely balcony to sit on watch the sun rise/ set
It’s a bit all over the place as layout has changed due to renovations but these do not impact guests in any way and are welcome as the room we had was lovely but dated and would welcome a touch up and on the last day a big storm came and we woke up to a flooded room from the balcony over to carpet under the bed - thankfully we had packed and moved bags closer to the door or it would have been a disaster !
The M beach bar was lovely and Ahmed was a gentleman and always so friendly - lovely setting for having a drink / coffee / lunch and sunbeds also where towels were provided
Cleaning - place was spotless and the ladies were so friendly but often missing items - day 1 no towels / day 1&2 no water left in room day 3 emptied tissue box to replace and never replaced day 4 took 1 towel and never replaced - small simple stuff
The bed was one of the most comfortable we stayed in on trip - big spacious/ comfortable - amazing
Breakfast - lots of pastries / breads meats / cheese and all freshly baked tasty can also order eggs - omelette / scrambled etc
WiFi - hit and miss - I had an Accor account so I seemed to have better wifi than my husband which was strange - worked ok in room but not great didn’t work if sat on balcony and was perfect down on beach !
This hotel is in a wonderful location lovely staff and would recommend if you are looking for a hotel and not a riad as from what I could see walking around not many others that looked inviting !
Good location and friendly staff but beware this hotel no longer has thalassotherapy facilities only limited spa treatments. The hotel is also undergoing extensive construction and remodeling until September 2026 causing dust and noise and meaning a large part of the indoor facilities are not available to guests and more than 50% of bedrooms are still to be refurbished The main entrance looks as though the whole hotel is closed.
Stayed here for a night. Hotel caters more for Euro/American tourists on a package tour. The hotel is like any standard quality hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean. Decor was humdrum
The location on the sea front was excellent. The hotel has exclusive space and a a restaurant on the beach which was pretty good. The food served on the beach was pretty good.
We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of an amazing Morocco adventure. This place has such potential and it 60% there. Once all the renovations have been completed it will be the place to stay.
The external view of the resort is pretty shabby and very dated. The old rooms which are all in the front building do all need work but they are onto it and it won't be long until they are all done. We had booked a sea view room not knowing that those are all the unrenovated ones. We asked before we got there to have a room that was renovated and away from the noise of the construction. In reality we got an old room next door to the building work aaaargh! At check in, they advised that a new room would become available the next day if we wished to change.
We decided we wanted to - the old rooms are not hideous but they do really need some work - dated bathrooms, grout is old and stained, fixtures are pretty poor. The bed however was still very clean and comfortable. The small balcony facing the ocean has peeling paint etc and the external walls are very grotty.
The amazing Nezha at front desk helped us out and relocated us to a new room the next morning (Thankyou Nezha!!) These rooms are gorgeous!. Bathroom is beautiful, balcony large and comfortable. Couldn't fault them. Only feedback that was negative about the back building was occasionally there was a really bad smell in the hallway (sewerage??) which may or may not have been the hotel. This did not affect our stay though.
The pool area is beautifully remodelled, the bar has been beautifully remodelled. At the time, they were working on reception and the side building rooms and apart from that first night the work did not affect our stay.
The restaurant in the hotel is yet to be renovated and does need work, but I'm sure its on the agenda to get done soon. Breakfast was good, with Moroccan and Western options.
The staff across the hotel was all lovely. The staff at breakfast was great but tended not to be on top of clearing dirty tables or re-setting for the next guest but it wasn't the end of the world.
We also accessed the beach side restaurant and the food was fantastic! The staff here were also lovely but service was very slow.
The location is the best in Essaouira in our opinion.
All in all a great stay and can't wait to see how the renovations end up. Once finished this place will be a 5/5!
After a two year hiatus, a return to this hôtel and another wonderful stay. Because of refurbishment works, it was not possible for us to have our "favourite" room, but we received an upgrade to a sea-view room, and an excellent room it was too.
Upon arrival, we were met with the most gracious greeting and recognition by the reception staff and quickly and efficiently ‘processed' through check in and assigned our room. As for the reception staff, a special mention must be made for Fatima E and Aziz, who, on all occasions, went above and beyond with their help and assistance, we cannot praise them highly enough.
The room was one that is yet to be refurbished but it met all of our needs perfectly. A bowl of fruit greets you on the first night followed by the most delicious chocolate cakes every evening. The rooms are spacious and well equipped for our needs with very good WiFi should you require it. The mini bar is well stocked but we normally remove the supplied stock and re fill with our own products from a nearby supermarket. The bathroom is clean and well supplied with all that one would need, hair and body products, bath robes etcetera.
The breakfasts in this hôtel are really very good, both western and Moroccan dishes are available along with fruit, cereals, viennoiserie and cakes, with very attentive staff. A special mention should go out to Abdullah? a long-time member of staff, who is most caring and efficient and to the, unfortunately unnamed, egg lady. It is possible to take breakfast either outside by the pool or inside the dining room with a wonderful view of the sea and beach-life, we always chose the latter. I must say that it is always a pleasure to eat there.
The pool and garden area have been remodelled since our last stay and a good job has been done. It has become a haven of peace & quiet only punctuated by the birdsong of the local Bulbuls.
The hôtel is ideally located on the beachfront only about 200mts from Bab Sbâa, one of the entrances to the delights of the medina and about 30mins walk from an international supermarket for those things that you may have forgotten or desire.
I have every reason to highly recommend this hôtel.
Choukran bezaf, Inshallah we will return soon.
If you like 360 degrees of mold and dirty tile in the bathroom, this is the place for you. The lobby, bar, and pool are nice. So is the buffet breakfast. This is an old building that desperately needs renovation. It's hard to describe the filthy conditions of the bathroom. It is not fit for habitation. Even the air is stale with a slight hint of bleach. I don't know about the rest of the hotel, however, Stay Away from Room 151.
Hotel is right on the beach, with a beach restaurant that is perfect for sunset viewing. Youseph at the bar was very attentive and made a good white Martini cocktail.
Really super hotel. Staff amazing esp Ahmed at Beach Bar, Imad at breakfast and our chambermaid Nazah. There is some refurbishment underway but no impact to our stay and it’s good to see the investment. The hotel is ideally located with its own beach area and bar which we used a lot.
The beds are too small
A perfect end to our Moroccan odyssey. After a very ordinary stay at an Accor property in Marrakech it was wonderful to enter the rejuvenated MGallery in Essaouira. Our room was new and as welcoming as the staff, especially Fatima. The pool surrounds enhanced the new rooms and added to the sanctuary-feel of the property. After a tiring few weeks of touring it was great to relax and truly enjoy the 5 star service. Dining at the restaurant overlooking the beach and watching the sunset was marvellous and our young servers, Asiya and Sadiya ensured our stay ended on a high note. They were both cheerful, friendly and competent servers and keen to assist us.
Spa closed and noisy building works going on- still being advertised as having a spa. No indoor pool, hot tub sauna etc. whole point of booking this hotel was the spa. No courtesy room either as flight not until the evening. Not worth the money go elsewhere
In a recent trip to Marrakech, my husband and I made a side trip to Essaouira to take a break from the Marrakech heat. We hired a private transfer from a company called Souk to Surf. Although it was warm in Essaouira, the ocean breeze provided relief. We stayed at the Le Medina Essaouira Thalassa Sea and Spray Gallery and it was more than what I expected. We booked a Superior Double Room with Ocean View. The hotel room faces the Promenade and from the balcony, we had a panoramic view of sunrise and sunset each day. The room and bathroom were large; His and Hers closet space; bathrobes and slippers provided. The buffet breakfast had a good selection of breads, pastries, cold cuts, juices. Le Medina had a gym and outdoor pool (no longer under construction) and a spa as well. The hotel also had a restaurant MBeach that was open from noon to 11pm. In addition, there were a few restaurants along the promenade as well.
The hotel staff were courteous and willing to assist me with the few French words that I know.
The hotel is a 15 minute walk to the gate of the Medina.
This was truly a relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech.
We got a sea view room with a lot of trees obstruction, the rooms were very average. Aircon was not cooling nicely . Everything else in room was just very average. Will recommend someone try the rent room on streets here soo many people offer to check the rooms . The price I paid was definitely not worth.
Staff was friendly and efficient. Walking distance to Medina.
Across from sea with beach club
A perfect location with good vibes.
A special thank to Asiya for her kindness, expertise and loveble smile!
I absolutely recommend this hotel and its pub
Pool cleanliness
This is our fourth family holiday at the Medina. Although currently undergoing refurbishments, there was no noticeable decline in standards or service and the work wasn’t particularly disruptive.
It’s a great location, 15 mins walk to the media itself in one direction and 10 mins walk to the beach bars and water activities in the other.
The hotel is clean, the staff are courteous and excellent — huge props to Yusuf and Nasar in the restaurant/bar — with perfect English and French.
The pool area is sheltered from the wind and a great way to cool off after exploring the medina and surrounding areas or just a day on the beach.
Wholly recommended.
Great facility in Essaouira with private beach access across the street.
Very courteous staff and beautiful pool area. Breakfast is delicious. Probably the best place to stay in the area. Would definitely return.
