Despite the nice view (if room located on a higher storey), otherwise very average hotel
Pros:

I liked following things:
1) Staff was nice
2) View from window was nice (14th floor)
3) Steam in shower was very good
4) Bed was comfortable
5) Location of course, as that was one of the main reasons I selected this.

Cons:

I was very dissapointed. First of all, this hotel was one of the hotels I always wanted to stay in Riga to enjoy the view of the city. As this hotel is a bit more (30-50%) pricey than others around, I hesitated to choose it in the past. However, last week I wanted to spend a great night with my special other, so I thought, finally I will choose this hotel - and I regret that. :(

I have listed good things above, but now about possible improvements:
1) We were on 14th floor (view not to Old city, but to the other side). The sound of ventilation systems was awful. If we opened the window, we didn't hear city sounds, we just heard very noisy ventilators (or maybe those are are from cooling systems or heating systems, doesn't matter). Even when we closed the window, the sound didn't dissapear fully. It was simply not possible to sleep normally at night due to that buzzy sound.

2) There is some thermostat in room, I regulated it to the lowest level it allowed (most likely heating system is centralized, so I couldn't select exact degrees). But the blanket on the bed was so thick, as it was way too hot to sleep. As there were no another blanket, the whole night was like an exercise - blanket on, blanket off... and still listening in that buzzy sound while doing that. :)

3) The next morning after f*** night with very bad sleep, I hoped that maybe breakfast will do some magic and improve our overall experience... That was not the point. Breakfast was very average, limited choice, the same you could have in every other hotel in Riga for 45-50 EUR per night stay. They made omelette based on order, but it was tastless too. So overall, yes, you can eat something, but don't expect something WOW, just ordinary hotel breakfast.

In conclusion, I spent 122 EUR for that room, apart from the view, I would have got a better night stay for around 70 EUR in some of nearby hotels. Dissapointed, however I had to try it once in my life and that's done.
