Armenia Marriott Hotel Yerevan

This was my second stay at the Marriott Yerevan. My first visit in December 2023 was excellent — I spent three weeks at the hotel and had a wonderful experience. This trip the hotel and staff were once again outstanding, with one notable exception.

Repeat Incidents in the Executive Lounge

Unfortunately, my otherwise positive stay was affected by repeated rude behavior from a male guest (accompanied by his wife) in the Executive Lounge. On two consecutive evenings, this guest from Los Angeles rudely bumped into me without apologizing and treated the lounge staff in a condescending and verbally abusive manner — barking orders, snapping their fingers, and speaking to them disrespectfully. This created an uncomfortable environment for other guests, including my family and young children.
I reported the issue to lounge staff and later to a hotel manager. After insisting that I want Marriott to do something about this so I did not have to confront him myself, I was informed that the couple are the parents of one of the building’s owners, which apparently limited the hotel’s ability to address the situation. I strongly recommend that Marriott (not local hotel management) establish and enforce clear standards of conduct for all guests, including those with ownership connections, to ensure a respectful environment for everyone. A letter warning these people from Marriott Corporate would be a minimum first step.

Positive Aspects of Our Stay (5-Star Hotel & Staff)

Despite the above, the hotel’s Armenian staff remained consistently professional, warm, and helpful throughout our stay. Highlights included:

Room:

We stayed in the same room as I was in a couple years ago during a previous stay. The room was exactly the same. The bed was comfortable and the housekeeping team did an excellent job. The décor feels a bit dated, so I hope to experience one of the updated rooms the on a future visit since the hotel is working to renovate the whole hotel.

Restaurant (3rd Floor):

We had breakfast here each morning for the greater variety and beautiful views. The food was consistently excellent, with fresh, high-quality options. The real maple syrup, local jams, and honeycomb were particularly appreciated. The only minor suggestion is that the bacon was slightly undercooked by international standards.

Executive Lounge:

Pleasant space with a buffet breakfast, evening happy hour (5:30–8:00 pm), and a lovely balcony overlooking Republic Square when weather permits. The selection was sufficient, though more limited than the main restaurant.

Pool:

The pool and surrounding area are large, clean, and well-maintained — a real highlight during the summer months with a full-service bar and family-friendly atmosphere.

Staff:

The team was outstanding. Special thanks to the Director of Rooms and front desk team, who worked hard to resolve our lost luggage issue with the airline after eight days. Their persistence and thoughtfulness (including sending a honey cake for our son’s 10th birthday) made a big difference.

In summary, we had many positive experiences thanks to the dedicated and friendly staff. I hope Marriott will implement clearer guest conduct policies so future visitors can fully enjoy the high standards this property offers. My family has greatly enjoyed our visits to Armenia and would like to return to and recommend the Armenia Marriott Hotel Yerevan.

This is a very large, tired and poorly maintained hotel. Ugh my room was dated, dirty and ugly The room and furnishings were so used and old and broken Huge splatters of blood (?) covered my drapes Broken door to balcony so that the poorly working AC during this very hot stay could not keep up with door that didn’t close. My room was too difficult to get to in the labyrinth and confusing elevator availability. I could not get my luggage delivered for a very long time Staff seemed too few and overworked Good breakfast buffet each day The electricity going out one night was an added inconvenience. Would not recommend this hotel

The Marriott Yerevan was a mess. From a chaotic check in to the assignment of rooms in the old Ararat Bldg which one cannot reach by elevator from the main lobby. You have to climb stairs, go down a long corridor to reach another bank of elevators. Impossible to take your own bag. And porters were very slow delivering. Staff was inexperienced and and not especially helpful. In recommend avoiding the Marriott in Yerevan.

Завтрак отличный. Персонал начиная со стойки регистрации и во всем отеле очень гостеприимные и в решении всех вопросах помогали. Вид на площадь с фонтами.

Amazing location staff services rooms you name it the hotel has it all

Armenian coffee downstairs was amazing.
Rooms were wonderfully kept, the housekeeping team was amazing.
Front desk staff was very helpful and spoke great English.
