Taj Bentota Resort & Spa

We had gone for dinner at Taj Bentota ,we wanted Jain food which was not available anywhere in bentota , but we met Chef Dalip Singh & Mr Lalit there who were very warm & helpful to make our special meal arrangements memorable. Chef Dalip even made my 2 year old infants food very tasty and healthy .We were very glad to meet them there.

We had a lovely stay at the Taj Bentota. The hotel staff were kind and helpful and made it a wonderful place to relax and unwind. Would like to say special thank you to the wonderfully talented Dalip Singh at The Palms Restaurant, The dishes were exquisite.
Our room boy, Rukmal was very attentive and made our rooms comfortable and clean everyday.

Awesome views, service and staff. very nice and beautiful property. few disappointments: Ala-carte was very slow, took 1.5-2hrs per meal even with single order. Room was ok , paid for extra bed but got sofa-cum-bed which was not very comfortable.

Beautiful location with access to semi private beach. Spacious and clean rooms. All the facilities and service was top notoch. Gave a complimentary Eggless cake in room for bday celebration. We had food restrictions no onion no garlic and the Chef Daleep accomodated it so beautifully and exceptional servive. Paradise even for vegetarians.

We had visited Taj bentota property on the 23rd of July 2025. It was sons 1st birthday and his 1st international trip and it was the best decision we made. Starting from reaching the property everything was well taken care of. Just amazing hospitality. The staff the rooms everthing was top notch. Travelling with a 1 year kid the only challenge we thought we would face was his food. But guess what Chef Dilip Sigh was our saviour. We were stating there for 2 nights and from the very 1st dinner we had there till the last breakfast we had there he was our go to person. He understood what our kid eats and customised my sons meals or even curated new ones off menu just for him and he loved it all. Even for us he made dishes and we loved it too. He even way out of way and planned a lovely dinner for us which was amazing too.
Any new parents planning to go to Taj bentota should be carefree and the staff is great and Chef dilip for food.

We stayed for 5days in Taj Bentota in dec 25, we saw many of the guest receiving welcome drinks but they missed us somehow. They put in large older room when my wife complained they showed a redone room which was small. The restaurant was getting redone so the food was being served in a makeshift tent which I fond uncomfortable.The area around the pool was being redone too. What were a miss in the hotel was mostly made up with warm hospitality of the people both in the hotel and outside.The have a nice semi-private beach with surfing area. In general the holiday was wonderful.

We had a beautiful stay. Best place and food ever. We were given a room with sea view and we had brilliant stay. Food was extremely good with so much variation from western to eastern and authentic SriLankan cuisine. Very yummy breakfast and dinner.

We group of 3 couple had the pleasure of staying at Taj Bentota, Sri Lanka for two days during our visit on 17/18 December 2025, and I would especially like to appreciate Mr. Jasvir Singh, Chef, for his hospitality.

Mr. Jasvir truly made us feel at home from the very beginning. He took personal care to ensure that we were served exactly the dishes we wished to eat and went out of his way to customise the food according to our preferences. His attentiveness, warmth, and genuine concern for guest satisfaction made our dining experience truly memorable.

Such personalised service reflects the high standards of the Taj brand. Mr. Jasvir Singh efforts added a special touch to our stay. We will always remember his kindness and dedication.

Went for dinner and The Palm for two nights in a row and had a lovely experience. Mr. Ravinder welcomed us warmly and was very friendly, especially towards our child. His hospitality made us feel comfortable and well taken care of. Highly recommend the place. Would love to stay there the next time.

We had great expectations from the hotel. But didn’t have a good experience. Check in time is 3 pm. We waited while having lunch. At 3.30 we were told that the previous guest hasn’t vacated the room yet. Is that my problem? Never had this unprofessional behaviour from Taj. We waited by the pool without getting a chance to freshen up. But it was prepaid room so couldn’t really do anything. Actually we had come from Radisson Collection Hotel Galle, which was too good. Radisson people were so nice with personal touch. Taj was just the opposite. We felt disappointed because we have been to so many Taj resorts in India with excellent hospitality. At Taj Bentota people were least bothered about us. Will never visit Taj Bentota again, spoilt my holiday ending.

Great overall experience. Gym was surprisingly good for a hotel and staff was extremely helpful (Especially Maneka and other gym employees).

Mr Dalip Singh Parihar - the dishes he served us- honestly it was a gastronomical paradise - we truly felt the warmth of Indian cuisine in the heart of Sri Lanka. He has really taken the cake- the food under his supervision was a capital highlight of our trip. My thanks to him for his services and would 10/10 recommend him to all guests.

We had a very pleasant stay at your resort and thoroughly enjoyed our time as a family. The property is beautiful, well-maintained, and very kid-friendly. Our children had a fantastic time and were constantly engaged and happy.

The staff truly made our stay special. The reception team surprised our kids with soft toys, which completely made their day and was such a thoughtful gesture.

A special mention to Chef Dalip Singh and Kamal from the service staff, who took exceptional care of us. Chef Dalip went beyond the regular menu to prepare customized meals for our kids, ensuring they were always comfortable and well-fed.

We would also like to appreciate the staff member at the pool bar who helped us with food for the kids — unfortunately, I forgot his name, but he was super warm, friendly, and attentive throughout.

Overall, it was a relaxing and memorable experience with excellent hospitality. We would definitely recommend your resort to families and look forward to visiting again.

My wife and I stayed at the Taj Bentota Resort & Spa in December 2025. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the grounds beautiful, and the staff polite and pleasant. Our waiter, Asiri, stole our hearts with his warmth and attentiveness. We'd especially like to mention the food - it was delicious. The cuisine was European and local, with enough choice to satisfy everyone. We've decided that if we come to Sri Lanka again, we'll only stay at this hotel.

My family and I had an amazing time at the Taj, Bentota. We especially enjoyed the brilliant hospitality, care and pampering from Sam, Asiri and the magical healing hands of Aimith at the Spa. My stay at Taj Bentota was absolutely incredible! From the beautifully planned surprise dinner the team helped my husband organise to the specially curated lunches crafted by the renowned Chef Dalip Singh. Also it was our first anniversary trip, so every moment felt truly special. Thank you so much Team!

We returned from a 14 night stay on December 21st and I can't recommend this hotel enough. We had a truly memorable holiday. While the venue is physically stunning and the food is off the scale, it's the staff that really makes this place what it is. They are all to a person amazingly courteous and helpful. It's hard to single out people and I will inevitably miss some people out but here are some of the people that we would like to thank: Executive chef Priyush and his team of chefs; Malawana for servicing our room; Kanangara for poolside food and drink; Ravinder for his wonderful attentiveness in the restaurant; Asiri for the same; Menaka in the gym; we'd also like to thanks Samadhi, Madusha and Lakhi.
