From August 24, 2026, the reception at Pilot Airport Hotel will operate on a self-service basis.
What does this mean in practice?
Book your stay online in advance. You can pay during the booking process or on your mobile device when checking in. Check in in advance via the link sent to your email or at the hotel’s self-service kiosk upon arrival.
Arrive at a time that suits you from 2:00 PM onwards and easily collect your room key from the self-service kiosk.
There are 2 car parks, one next to the hotel and one 1 km away, which has a transfer service to the hotel.
Please note the following: Parking costs EUR 9 per night. Long term parking is also possible at an extra cost of EUR 45 per week. Please note that the parking is not guarded. The free airport transfer service to and from Helsinki Airport is offered during limited times. From HEL airport the shuttle operates DAILY between 15:15-01:15 (pick up from platform #42). Between mentioned operating hours, the shuttle bus departs each hour automatically at :15 and :45 (15:15, 15:45, 16:15 etc. until 01:15.). The shuttle from hotel to HEL airport is available daily between 03:30 am -9:00 am and will be booked by calling. Also, during MON-FRI (excluding public holidays) the shuttle service from hotel to HEL airport is arranged upon request between 9:30-14:30 as well as for arriving guests from HEL airport to hotel. Guest arriving between 9:30-14:30 will need to call the hotel (+358 9 3294 800) in order to arrange the shuttle after claiming the luggage.
Please note that the free transfer is only available for individual guests and not for groups of 8 persons or more.
A deposit may be required at the property.

Autopaikat olivat yöllä täynnä ja jouduimme jättämään paikkaan, joka ei ollut parkkiruutu. Avainkortit olivat loppuneet koneen vierestä ja jouduimme etsimään niitä ja lopulta löysimme niitä. Harmitti vähän, kun autopaikasta joutui vielä erikseen maksamaan.

As the name implies, it was close to the airport & the free transfer bus goes every half hour.
A smart, modern, IKEA-style hotel, all clean & tidy.
My room was mostly taken up by the bed but as I was only sleeping there that was ok. It was spotless & a comfortable bed with a reading light (so no getting up to switch off a central light) & a phone recharging point by the bed.

I have stayed at the Pilot Airport Hotel many times in a single room and have always felt very comfortable. The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive, especially at breakfast. The airport shuttle works perfectly, and overall, the hotel offers excellent value for money.
This time, I travelled with a friend and booked a suite, expecting two proper double beds with plenty of space. Unfortunately, the second bed turned out to be a sofa bed that squeaked so badly with every movement that sleeping in it was impossible without disturbing each other. We therefore had to separate the other “double bed”, which consisted of two single beds pushed together, and sleep in two very narrow single beds instead.
As we arrived late, there was no staff member available at the self-service reception to help us resolve the issue.
Despite this disappointing experience, I would happily stay at the hotel again when travelling alone, as my previous stays in a single room have always been great. However, I do not consider the price-performance ratio of the suite acceptable, especially when the sleeping arrangements fall so far short of expectations.
Overall, a great hotel with wonderful staff, but the suite needs improvement.
