I absolutely love how cozy Queen Anne is. It is perfect location with being walking distance or bike ride into town, but far enough away from a crowd. I have stayed here many times and love how much of a family feel the staff provides. There is so much charm in staying at a historical establishment.
Great location and very well decorated and sweet! The staff were all so lovely.
The noise of the people walking in the rooms above was definitely something that woke us up pretty often.
Such a lovely characterful hotel, friendly and helpful. Great food, great service, and a calm and peaceful ambience.
Loved it 🙂
We decided to go out for breakfast to celebrate our wedding anniversary and this lovely historic old Inn has been on our must-do list for years.
What a gem! The breakfast was delicious… eggs benedict, fresh fruit, good coffee. The comfortable decor with nods to epic sailing events… check out the mural in the salon.
So much of what we love about the Cape is being knocked down and/or modernized, and this Inn is a placeholder for the days of family vacations in Chatham.
Mmmmm
First impressions were good as you walk into the reception area although there was a musty smell.
The bedroom left a lot to be desired. It was like stepping back into the 1980’s not the 1880’s.
The hotel clearly needed some TLC and upgrading. It was quite sad really. The wood on the bedroom balcony was rotting and needed maintenance.
The bed was falling apart - it dipped in the middle and there were 2 mattresses on it ! The bottom one which was on show was clearly very old. There was a cap end on the end of the bedstead that fell off with a screw poking out (see photo)! Luckily we didn’t scratch ourselves on it. The bedroom also smelled musty and to be honest we felt quite sick during our stay.
BEWARE of hidden breakfast charges!! Our breakfast should have been included as part of our pre paid stay but we ended up with a $60 bill at checkout for ‘extras’ although the one morning I had 2 slices of bread and 2 eggs which would have cost less then the ‘American breakfast’ . The pre paid breakfast menu and how it worked wasn’t explained to us at all although ‘apparently’ we had been told is what was confirmed to our travel agent. There was pricing on everything!
There is also mould on some of the chairs in the dining area.
The staff there are lovely but employed cheaply on some scheme from abroad so got the impression everything was done at a low cost there .
The drink prices at the bar are extortionate- not even 5 star hotels charge $21 for a cocktail!!
Every hotel in the USA on our trip didn’t charge any extra for the pre paid breakfast and the quality was better.
We just got the impression it was a hotel being run down towards closure to be honest.
Anyone who gives this hotel a good review must have low standards.
Chatham as a place was wonderful! We would definitely visit there again but choose a different hotel next time. It’s a shame because it would be a great hotel if maintained correctly within the standards required of the 21st century, whilst obviously keeping the charm of when it was built.
We had a wonderful stay at Queen Anne’s. we had dinner at the Inn and the food was outstanding - the best steak frites I have ever eaten and my husband enjoyed a dish he has never seen before, Beetroot and Gin cured salmon. He loved it. The breakfast was equally as good. Our room was very nicely decorated with a super comfortable bed and good strong shower. Downtown Chatham is just a short walk away. Dana and her staff treated us just like family.
Location and overall style of premises. Excellent housekeeping. Pleasant reception and waitresses.
Property is very tired and in need of maintenance and refurbishment. Stair carpet worn in places … creaking bed … balcony had peeling paint and mouldy plastic rug which had seen better days.
Hit with a surprise extra to our bill - enforced tipping?! This should be optional and the amount decided by the guest not the owner of the hotel.
Great location! Quick walk to Oyster Pond and Main Street. A grocery store around the block. Close enough to walk to many attractions yet just far enough for quiet relaxation. The staff was wonderful, breakfast and dinner were absolutely exceptional, and the property was so lovely. Old charm with modern conveniences like fridge in your room, bath robes, ice machine on property, and outdoor shower to rinse after pool or beach. We will definitely stay here again! The balcony off our room was huge. Biggest balcony I've had at this type of stay.
Prepare to feel like an honored guest at Queen Anne inn, as it brings together all the warmth and welcome of home with the sophistication and flair of a high-end hotel. It's no wonder that this place is a magnet for international guests. We noticed those extra touches of service and amenities that only the best hosts know how to provide. I would return to Queen Anne Inn for my next Cape stay in a heartbeat. Dana's touring advice saved us precious time. We could spend less time researching and more time exploring. She seems to have a passion for hospitality, and it really
shows!
I regret that we could not have stayed longer, because we had such a good time. As world travelers, we have a good baseline for critique and comment.
We dined at the restaurant and we can only say that the food was absolutely delicious. It was the second time we ate there and it was outstanding both times. What a hidden gem! Can’t wait to go back. The food was creative and sophisticated. Tonight we tried the beet infused salmon appetizer, the tomato salad with sesame crisps, the Asian tuna with pickled veggies and the perfectly baked chicken with cauliflower in a special sauce. All so good!
The breakfast was great, a good deal, best coffee. I can't say enough about the staff, they really made you feel at home.
The staff were so kind and accommodating. The property is cozy and away from the busy Main Street of Chatham, but close enough to walk to everything.
Its location, its history, its value for money.
Didn’t have a public Bar.
Property is just kind of old and worn - which is to be expected on Cape Cod.
Room was large, great balcony over-looking gardens and pool, pool is a splendid place to swim and relax, and breakfasts were excellent, especially the 2nd day of our stay.
