Rooms were nice and clean, we had a quiet room at the end of the hall.
Construction, had to go up to the 2nd floor to use the elevator and 3rd floor for front desk. Stairs were blocked when huge crowds of families just wanted to get up to their rooms asap. We showed up at the hotel around 10am and had to wait in the lobby until I went back to the front desk at 4:00 to get a room. Pool was closed due to construction and I don’t think we knew this ahead of time.
I like the hotel and it's location to activities and other restaurants. I also like that the Sheraton has started remodeling for my next visit.
Slow elevator access when there are events nearby, example Youth Band.
Very clean, employees are polite and modern facility.
It doesn’t include breakfast.
This hotel is a joke. It is undergoing renovation, so there are curtains inside. But let's start from the beginning. If you arrive after midnight, for example, you have to solve a puzzle to get into the hotel. We searched for the entrance for a good 15 minutes. The valet parking staff we asked to show us the entrance couldn't tell us either. So we wandered around like free electrons. At one point, the door that was closed opened because someone was leaving the hotel. We didn't wait, we just slipped inside. Reception? Here's another puzzle. It turns out that the reception is on the 3rd floor and looks like someone built it there yesterday.
But this is the four-star Sheraton Grand, so let's not expect too much.
When you think that's all the disappointments, there's still breakfast. I had to go into the kitchen to ask the staff where the hell I was supposed to go for breakfast. It turned out to be in some club on the second or third floor. You can't get in. The card doesn't work even though I booked a room with breakfast. There is no staff, and the only way to get in is when someone leaves the club, which, incidentally, is microscopic.
Overall, I do not recommend it. Beware of the Sheraton Grand in Sacramento
and you have been warned.
Everything
Great location, but the ongoing construction and spectacularly uncooperative management ruined my stay. Stay far, far away from this hotel. I lodged a complaint with Mariott, and their official position was that my complaint was justified, but the hotel is independently operated and they can't force a manager to make things right. Now that I have seen firsthand that Mariott at the corporate level has no interest or ability to enforce standards across their hotels, I am turned off of staying at Mariott properties in general, as I see the brand essentially has no meaning.
Leaving
The smell
Clean, quiet and comfortable. The room was very nice.
Incredibly expensive, and I don't mean the nightly rate. Advertised a complimentary breakfast, we discovered you're only allowed in if you're"a member.". Wifi isn't free either. Food and drinks were outrageously inflated; we were there for a very large function, stayed 1 night because we didn't want to drive home afterwards. $20 a drink for adult beverages. We were told we had 1 set of bathrooms located 1 floor up from the ballroom our guests could use. Four elevators available for a high rise many floors of rooms; our room was on the 15th floor, very long waits. $45 plus tip to valet park over night. Wasnt a bad place to stay, just couldn't get past the feeling we were being fleeced by the property at every turn. Super snooty, won't be joining "the club" any time soon.
Great party hotel with a quiet hours beginning at 11:30 p.m.
Let's say you're partying in this great downtown area. Close to everything till 1:00 a.m. I need to get back to your room and you want to keep partying
Nothing to stop you from talking loudly and playing music and having a great time.
If a neighbor in a room across the hall or next to you has any kind of problem with You're allowed noise from partying and calls the front desk, no problem.
You've got three warnings before you're evicted on the 3rd warning.
So after the first warning just keep partying. Although just tone it down a little bit, but not much. More morning, so just keep partying having a great time until they come back again and give you you your final warning before you're evicted on the last third warning.
The walls are all so thin, Jo. That's not a problem though if you're going to be staying up till 3:00 or 4:00 a.m.
Again a great party hotel with nice fuse comfortable beds. Great air conditioning system. Makes no noise. And the rooms have been recently renovated. So very comfortable place to be.
I am so much looking forward to coming here again. Has a great party location.
So many other high class Marriott type hotels would be giving you an earlier curfew of 10:30 or something and only give you one warning before you're evicted on the second warning but here
party down !
Restaurant had great food and excellent service. Nice view.
Valet process and attitudes were not good. Maid service lacking. Under construction. Front desk staff uninformed and lacking communication skills. Overpriced for what we received.
Super clean, refurbed. Amazing staff - A+++
Wasted my time on hold as a group bookings agent told me she was finalizing my reservation for Unified Grape & Wine Symposium... ONLY TO BE HUNG-UP ON IN THE END. Nobody willing to rectify the situation. My loyalty/Marriott status is meaningless these days, at least at the Sheraton Grand.
This hotel has many issues but first know it is being renovated. From the moment I entered I could feel the mess. The carpets in the reception area are extremely stained and the front desk attendant was extremely rude. When staying at a hotel I expect a safe (homeless people everywhere outside this hotel laying on the streets) clean (room had white dog hair all over it, cheerios on the floor and inside garbage can, the bathtub would not drain, the front entry lights were out and lastly the room smelled of mildew or dog. I went to the front desk and asked for another room which I was not given. I was told they were full then I was told they had rooms but they were all dirty. This was at 645 pm and my original request to change rooms was at 4:45 pm. The male attendant was rude and very unaccomidating. Do not book this hotel.
Staff
Did not have our room until 6:30
We were not told about remodel.
Bar and resturant were awful.
Room was very small
there was a problem with the main system which kept many of us from checking in on time we had to wait over 3 hours to get into our room and had an event to attend which made us late for that as well and we were not compensated for anything????
Great stay.
